Awww buda There is nothing wrong with decs up in nov!
XP2 had been know to put them up at the end of Oct when he lived with his xp!

BudaBeast · 08/11/2006 17:51

Why? Xmas is AT THE END OF DECEMBER!

Deosn't it mean you don't even see the decs by Xmas time? The novelty must surely have worn off.

tortoise · 08/11/2006 17:54

I love all the lights and the tree. I hate it when they have to come down! Whats the point in buying decs to go up for a month then be put away?
I think oct was far to early but mid nov is fine.

pippah · 08/11/2006 18:54

(whispers) I want to put mine up too, tortoise....

tortoise · 08/11/2006 18:59

I think i might get them out next week or over the weekend!
Someone give me a swift kick up the butt please? I need this place tidy by the morning!

HazelnutHazelnutsTree · 08/11/2006 19:00

I think like you do tortoise. Its a lot of money spent out just for a few days.

I hate it when the decs have to come down. Well the lights anyway. I know you have said that your xp2 has fibro. Maybe he liked the lights up so he felt better in the winter months. I can cope better with the lights of Christmas are around. More color to the cold, wet, yuk winter nights. I feel depressed when the lights have to come down. There is no color then and its all gray/black and yuk!

Its now winter and I dont like bright lights so I have little lamps everywhere with low watts bulbs in. With the Christmas lights I dont need these on and Christmas lights just makes the winter go away and loads of color

HazelnutHazelnutsTree · 08/11/2006 19:02

1 swift kick up the butt for tortoise

HazelnutHazelnutsTree · 08/11/2006 19:03

Looks like this weekend could get very colorful

tortoise · 08/11/2006 19:03

Sorry it didn't work! I just look at the floor and think where do i start? !!

Jelley · 08/11/2006 19:03

at the thought of Christmas decs up yet.Ours go up at the beginning of December., and by Boxing day I'm itching to take them down again.

We have a parade and light turning on ceremony the last weekend in Nov in our town, and that is when Christmas officially starts for us. (One of our neighbours decorates his entire house in lights and turns it on the same day)
DD1 is ecstatic as she has just found out that the Brownies have a float so she can be in the parade this year.

tortoise · 08/11/2006 19:07

Kitchen is done
Girls bedroom is done.
Bathroom needs a swish round.Upstairs one done!
Its just the front room that really needs attacking now.

tinshoes · 08/11/2006 19:12

i just hoovered downstairs so i have offically finished everything down here. hurrah.

i even paid the price for cheating with cleaning the bin the other day as bin bag split and yukky chopped tomatoes went everywhere so had to do a proper job....

well done tortoise. here's another kick just in case you start slacking.

HazelnutHazelnutsTree · 08/11/2006 19:38

well tortoise has been quiet now for nearly half an hr, so she might be FLYing now

If you are tortoise, then I hope its going well.

What are you going to do with the DDs so they dont make it messy again in the morning.

HazelnutHazelnutsTree · 08/11/2006 19:43

tinshoes. I had a bag split on me the other week.

It was the food waste bag and it was full, all over the kitchen floor.

I now take the small food waste bin out to the big 1 before I try and take the bag out.

tortoise · 08/11/2006 19:50

hee heeh HN. Yes ive done a little.Mainly by the front door because the shoes had spread across the floor and dry mud has dropped off the wellies!
Front room still a mess.

HazelnutHazelnutsTree · 08/11/2006 20:36

Yuk @ the house on "how clean is your house" tonight.[sick emoticon]

It looked great when they finished though.

That house though made mine look so clean!!

I felt sorry for him as he could not see the difference on how dirty to how clean it looked after.

tortoise · 08/11/2006 20:41

Well thats the front room looking much better.
Will have a rest now then see if anything else should be done.

Jelley · 08/11/2006 20:46

I love that programme. It makes me feel so much better about my house.

Raisin bread in the bread maker almost finished, and smells lovely.

Kitchen and sitting room are good, so I'm going to open a bottle of wine . (Medicinal to get over the shock of nipple biting from ds this evening. QP hhas had the same, but worseOW!)

Evening all Flybabes
Wow the boards buzy today.Who was taking the piss out of us lot btw LOTF's?Was it Cod saying we congratulate ourselves on getting dressed etc etc.Well who gives a toss she'd probably argue with herself given long enough in a locked room.

We all know housework's something that comes naturaly to many but some of us have a habbit of finding more interesting things to do so need a little support when it comes to getting things done.(SHE's stands for sidetracked Home Executives.)
We do of course discuss other aspects of our lives on here and it works as we tend to be similar types in a lot of ways.
Well after all my hard work yesterday all i've done today is play with the children (properly giving my full attention and enthusiasm to painting ,shoe shops etc ).Did do washing and make meals as well as maintain general tidyness achieved yesterday.
I'm trying to look on the bright side .Honestly? I've done very little but hey ho that's where tomorrow comes in .Am off to finish my bottle of chardonnay now, girls watching Dora Explorer and think i'm best mummy in world for playing all day. What more could you want?

tortoise · 08/11/2006 22:37

Well done squatchette.
I'm trying to help my Brother at the moment. He just text me. He's having trouble with his asthma and inhalor ran out! I can't get mine to him and don't know anyone who can except maybe our sister but she hasn't given me her new mob number and ive had to text my Mum in Turkey(2 hours ahead time wise) to see if she can send it to me. I hope i haven't woken them up. Don't know what else to do.

squatchette · 08/11/2006 23:06

oooh that sounds serious tortoise,i suppose his only other option is to go to casualty. It's a bit late isn't it for getting lifts etc.If desperate could hitch hike?-(him not you+girls).Hope your sis can help out i don't know loads about asthma but can identify with having breathing probs, and there's not a lot more scary.Try and get him to keep calm though ,Men eh he wont let his prescription run out again after this!

tortoise · 08/11/2006 23:27

He can talk on the phone so he's not too bad.
Looks like sister is trying to get him one. I hope this makes him think before lighting up his next fag!
Hee hee at 'man'.Can't really see my younger brother as a man even though he is 21!

sahmtotwo · 08/11/2006 23:33

Sorry I haven't been on here but I've been ill, so apart from the s and s and shiny sink. This week I have a lot of appointments and other things to do outside the house so not a lot extra will get done. Though I am proud to say that I have now completly cleaned the bathroom from the cobwebs on the cieling to the mould on the walls to the sticky bits on the floor. I am so bloomin' knackered but so proud of myself. So that means the boys room and the bathroom is completly done. Have started on our room now. Have had the HA out today and they have fixed the bathroom fan, so no more open window, woohoo!! Then another man came to look at the bathroom ceiling which is peeling, they are going to re-do it. Also the tiles are lifting in there as well and the floor is wet underneath. Have asked if they will put lino down instead of tiles but they won't. Which is mad!!! So they will come and sort that some time. He also looked at the mould in the boys room (told him about it in mine, wasn't gonna let him go in there lol!) So they are going to send in a damp expert. He also said that the fan in the bathroom was obsolete as it was so old and they might have to change it for a stronger one. The bloke earlier had said he wasn't sure if he could fix it and it would cost a fortune to fit a new one lol! So we will see what happens with all that.

Welcome to Lady of the Flowers. WB to all the other slipped flybabies. Hugs to Buda. Hugs to all those who are not feeling well. HN sorry to hear you were in hospital, hope things improve soon. Hi to the Step tree, HN is really lucky to have you around.

Better sign off now as I have really waffled. Sorry ladies.
