OK, so how do you do this photo-bucket-thing. Feel the need to prove my brunette status...

Evening all! Fantastic to see so many photos - isn't it funny how you get this mental picture of people from their posts, and then you see the photos, and people look nothing like the images you have in your head! I'll see what I can do re cameras etc. It might involve asking DH to take some photos and I'm not sure I want to be nice to him yet

No more news on the health front. I did post on MN re the eye condition to see if anyone had had it and NOT developed MS, but so far no answers. Having seen the eye specialist yesterday, I thought I'd book in to see the GP again tomorrow because I've got loads of questions now and I can't wait for another 6 weeks before getting some answers.

That's enough of that. On the flying front, I've not done too badly - done the usual plus cleaned under the bath (we've got a cast iron one on legs and I don't think I've been under the bath for hundreds of years - the dust was utterly gross!!!), tackled half the hot spots (the other half are in the DC's bedrooms and I can't face those) and done some ironing.

That's it for today - I feel shattered so I'm taking to my bed with a good book (oh, and a big sleeping pill!)

sorkycake · 12/09/2006 19:47

Well done Marvin!
Thanks for the update as well .
Ikwym about the mental picture, I see you as slightly built with shoulder length, dark hair. Anywhere near?

RR what a nightmare re: your house. Don't know what to suggest tbh.

Hope this works prefly pictures

mummyhill · 12/09/2006 19:54

Will have to add pics of the bedrooms later. Will do a bit of flying and insert suitable pics later.

ParanoidAndroid · 12/09/2006 19:54

Nope, tall with long blonde hair! Slightly more solidly built than I would like as well, but hey ho

ParanoidAndroid · 12/09/2006 19:59

Ruby - there is an alternative which is the route my sister and her partner took when they rented their current house. They paid a reduced rent for the first (I think it was 8 months) while they undertook a lot of the work themselves. They had to do things like replastering, retiling etc. You might find tenants who would be interested in this?

Alternatively ask a reputable builder (I don't know where you are but I know of several if you are local to me - Milford in Surrey). Builders' merchants will do similar stuff to B&Q but at a cheaper cost and the builder a) does the work and b) has to do all the buying etc.

Poor you though. It's horrid to see your family home in a state - we've had it with my grandparents' house, and I can't bear it. It has now been gutted by a developer and tarted up to be sold as some flash pad, when it was just a lovely rural home.

hazelnuts · 12/09/2006 20:12

Hi again All. DC all in bed and asleep now. DDS seem to be on the mend so I hope to get some sleep tonight. Not done much FLYing today. The bathroom is clean and the kitchen is ok. Just got washing drying in the kitchen atm. Some toys to go away but not much to do that needs to be done tonight. Seems like soe of US FLYers are having a bad time with health. Hope its all better soon. {{{{ Everyone}}}}

tortoisesdonotwearshoes · 12/09/2006 20:16

sorkycake · 12/09/2006 20:22

Sounds lovely Ruby.

melrose · 12/09/2006 20:23

Feeling very chuffed, while Ds was havingg his bath and playing happily I:

  • took all things off shelf above sink
  • cleaned mirror tiles, shelf and sink (including all the greeny bits and hard water around the taps)
  • washed toothbrush cup (UUUGGGHH!)
  • Put bits back on shelf, chucking a couple of old things away
  • sorted and cleaned shelf by bath

Thought our bathroom was OK as all fairly new and white and have a cleaner, but on inspecting taps think her cleaning of the bathrrom is more the swish and swipe variety!

Sorting and washing all bath toys and cleaning shower!

Off to polish my halo, may even post pics at end of week

sorkycake · 12/09/2006 20:26

Does anyone know why FL has restarted the emails, but I get them a day late and timed for 7.45 am, yet they've just pinged into my inbox now! They're the UK ones as well!

All my e-mails come late too, and all together. I joined the UK list so I could get on time stuff, so I might as well unsubscribe and just get the US ones.

tortoisesdonotwearshoes · 12/09/2006 20:56

I keep forgetting to check mine.
