TR - I think you really need to focus on the zone we are in at any one time then you will feel less depressed about the rest of the house - those rooms will get done eventually!

Today it is dining room, hall and porch, then kitchen next week. Just do one job and be proud that you have done that job!

next time you post I want to hear some postive comments before the "i'm crap etc" rant! It doesn't have to be big stuff - getting the kids to school is a great achievement!

damewashalot · 01/09/2006 08:12

TR sending you big hugs. Just read your post from last night and could have cried for you, I get to that point myself at times, I just want to sit in a corner and cry and don't know where to start it's all too much, keep coming on this thread and we'll all help you through it, ok?
My task for today is to find DS1's school trousers which are somewhere in the washing or one of the many heaps of ironing around my house, he goes back on tuesday and I haven't seen them in weeks as he was wearing shorts for the last few weeks of term They better still fit. Ironed for an hour lastnight, not that you can tell. I am so crap at the clothes thing, DS1 often shouts "I can't find any pants" then I get grumpy at him for yelling at me but I'm really mad at myself for not being a better mother, You are really not alone TR lets see if we can encourage eachother to get it sorted?
Hope that make some sense, no time to check it as baby is waking up, back later.

Cappuccino · 01/09/2006 08:25

well dh has gone to work early leaving me with a limpet-like dd2 who is in a right mood and dd1, whose 10am playdate can't come quick enough

am I right in thinking I have one day for my dining room? I don't have a dining room but I'd always thought I'd do the playroom when it got to dining room

and there's no way a day is going to cover it

I hope you're feeling better trinity... I really think you are expecting too much of yourself, just concentrate on the bit you are on at the moment and don't think about the rest. And if you don't have the energy just do the bare minimum

which ime is a load of washing a day and tidying the kitchen a bit. The rest can go to pot. You are pg after all & I know what it feels like to have a tiring pregnancy - one of the main reasons there will be no Cappuccini No 3

I'd recommend M & S kids meals if you have the money. And there's nothing wrong with beans on toast/ egg/ bread pizzas. I do hope you're not trying to Cook A Meal every night

just make sure you have lots of fruit in for you to keep eating and look after yourself

if I could come and give you a hand believe me I would

misdee · 01/09/2006 08:28

trinity rhino, i justy went in search of your pictures, and all i can say is, if you have a SW, then i need about 10 of them!

I am too ashamed to put pictures up of our mess. its just awful.

woke up to a lovely shiney sink and work tops this morning. i do get sidetracked by the PC so am off to do my morning routine.

trinityrhino · 01/09/2006 08:32

I am really sorry misdee that I have complained, it's selfish when I think of what you must be going through, sorry

tortoise · 01/09/2006 08:32

Morning all.
Hope you are ok this morning tr.

Ive woken this morning with a giant cold sore on my lip.My lip looks huge and it hurts.

DD2 has a very green snotty nose today(sorry tmi!).

dont feel ashamed for complaining, i know how you feel. but your house honestly isnt that bad. and it looks so bright and airy as well. i know a lady whose house isterrible. the space under th stairs is full of cr*p, animals are inside, so the place stinks, she cant get to hwer bed as its piled with stuff, so sleeps on the sofa. the kids rooms are filled with broken furniture and toys. its really really bad. and she dioesnt have a SW

tortoise · 01/09/2006 08:51

tr we are here to hear you complain and try to help you.We all have crap days(me especially!).

Bed now made and trousers dry so dressed properly now!!

Need to unload the dishwasher and re-load so i can wipe the kitchen down.

Ok - I am getting concerned by the amount of "I used to do it 3 years ago" that are joining us... what happened?!?!

Wooohooo Bex

Trinity - I am getting very worried about you - you sound like me at my lowest (mood/depression wise, not just housewise) Have you seen anyone for any help? Are you on anti-d's, st johns wort or anything? It might help. Also - how much caffeine do you drink - I have just cut it out, and I actually have MORE energy.

Wait til I have hoovered and you see my after pics !!!

trinityrhino · 01/09/2006 09:10

I am on anti-d's
I only have a SW because I asked for help, but they haven't done what they said they would 6 months ago
I have a counsellor
I have never drunk coffee except a couple of time when I was younger which was when I decided I didn't like hot drinks, so never drink tea or coffee and have avoided coke whilst pregnant, not that I drink that much of it anyway.

Jasnem · 01/09/2006 09:24

trinity, you really need to give yourself a break. We all do the best we can, and you are so clearly doing that, too. The only reason I've got on top of things a bit, is that my parents took my big kids for 5 days. Can you do the shiny sink? It's made me feel unreasonably proud every time I do it. Even if thats all that gets done, its a good start. Just move the clutter ( I love the box in each room idea someone suggested) so you can get round.

tortoise · 01/09/2006 09:30

Dishwasher un-loaded and re-loaded and switched on.
Can you do the same tr? It hasn't taken me long and its an easy thing to start with and makes a big difference to the kitchen!

OP posts:
Flamesparrow · 01/09/2006 09:33

Finding my kitchen is often the best thing I can do to get me started feeling better (have sent you a CAT) - even if it is just hiding some of the dishes in the oven until you have washed a load, then take out the next load to wash. Just being able to make it LOOK clear helps the frame of mind.

Forgot to say - ASDA are doing little zip up folder things for paperwork that you can store stamps etc in too, so that you can get bills and everything organised and paid easier.

Oh, and birthdayalarm is a great website that lets you store birthdays, it then reminds you 1 week before so you can go buy card .

Having had a crap day FLY wise yesterday, I pulled my finger out in the evening and did a load of washing, and ironing, shiny sink and washing up, and I put clothes out to wear today.

I'm on day 8 - I get to make my control journal!

TrinityR - you do sound very depressed and negative about yourself. Just because your house is a mess, doesn't make you a failure.

sheepgomeep · 01/09/2006 09:48

ooo flamesparrow I think I was one of the ones that said i used to do it 3 years ago!
I always start off with good intentions and then something always happens to make me feel like crap then my house gets in a mess.

I stopped doing it 2-3 years ago because my (ex)dp ran off with a teenager and I became very very low for a while. I've just moved and made a fresh start with fresh determination so fingers crossed i'll stick to it this time!!
Trinityrhino.. I've been where you are now and I know how overwhelmed you must be feeling. It's a horrible feeling. I hope you feel better soon.

I've done nothing this morning (except 2 phonecalls which I have been putting off) I just can't get going, although I did start off with a clean kitchen last night which helped a lot.

argghhh I'm due on got a belly ache and totally unmotivated this morning
