Quick tip (might have been mentioned before) - use the top you have taken off (pjs in morning, or daytime top in evening) to buff up the sink etc after cleaning - gives it a good shine, then is being washed anyway.

AmandaP · 23/08/2006 16:39

Oooh it's quiet on here today! I've caught up with myself sort-of, despite squabbling children, dog with upset tummy, and dh wandering about in wellies.

Off for a cup of tea now!

SKYTVADICT · 23/08/2006 16:44

Hi, been out all day but it was nice to come home to clean sink and swished and swipes loos etc. I am running the Uk website alongside the USA one and reading both. Perhaps I need to give one up as it all takes a lot of reading!

Need to get off PC now and do 15 mins in the bedroom but I will prob be here a bit longer yet!

shazronnie · 23/08/2006 17:17

The ultimate compliment - DH thinks we should save up for a burglar alarm.

In other words the house doesn't look like someone's already burgled it!!!

My bedroon is now super de dooper with no dust on the skirting board or behind the bedside table.

And I'm just off to reshine my sink after tea!

I really want my bedroom to look great but its sooo small and cramped i doubt it will ever be clear!

Flamesparrow · 23/08/2006 17:30

Not done a great deal today cos of the back, but just emails telling me to pull out meat for dinner, and go sort out the washing helps sooooooooo much!

cori · 23/08/2006 17:31

Hello everybody, havent been around since the last thread but am still 'flying' Kitchen sink remains shiny , and has become latest obsession, it has spread to the rest of the kitchen which remarkbly clean as well. Bathroom is being swished every morning so remains clutter free. The bedroom is a big one, have been following Flylady to the letter (email is playing tricks) but have divided bedroom into zones and do one zone a day. So should be able to finish it by the end of the week.

cori · 23/08/2006 17:32

Is there are UK FLy lady site too.?

Jasnem · 23/08/2006 20:19

I need to join in. I'm on baby steps, and have a clean sink (needed to spend 20 mins washing up to get to it ). I've got a kid free weekend coming up (This is a once a year event for me, and this year will still have 6 month old baby here) so I'm going to clean like a mad woman, then come back here to try and keep it under control.

Wish me luck.

tortoise · 23/08/2006 20:23

Welcome and Good luck Jasnem.

cori-There is a UK site which sends out e-mails the same as US sites.Still never quite on time though and i prefer the US ones..

IvortheEngine · 23/08/2006 20:44

I'm not sure that I want to join Flylady using the Yahoo bit which is, I guess, the way you do it. Is it 100% safe? If so, can you tell it that you're on hols for the next fortnight, for example, and suspend the reminder e-mails? I quite fancy the idea of getting a tidy house bit by bit but I'm quite cautious of joining something that is so new to me. Help!

tortoise · 23/08/2006 20:45

If you don't want the e-mails they are on the FLY lady website everyday.

tortoise · 23/08/2006 20:46

these are todays. Many are repeated everyday.

coggy · 23/08/2006 20:55

Hi I'm here!!!!
Thanks Tortoise....had to go to the fertility clinic and be jabbed today!!
Nice!!!
It's quite along way away so we had the day out and did a bit of shopping too....

Nearly got sucked in and bought a Kim and Aggie book....'How Clean is Your House?'
It had routines in it and everything but I thought it would just confused me and the nice FLYwooman routine so I resisted!!!
Just!!!

Laminations eh?!
Burgular alarms??!!

It's all been happeneing today!!
I am quite !

Shan't be doing much FLYing over the next few days as my family are coming down to stay.
I may not be able to get on PC either as it's in our spare room ....may not be around til Monday and a whole new zone!!!!!

How will I cope???!!!

coggy · 23/08/2006 20:55

Blimy.........sorry...that was loooooooong!!!!!

tortoise · 23/08/2006 21:02

Glad went well today(I read your reply on thread!!)didn't post because we chat on here anyway!

I thought it had been really quiet on here today.
Gosh how will you cope without popping in until monday!Lol!

Will you end up with loads of FLYing e-mails?

gothicmama · 23/08/2006 21:12

well the babysteps are going well- not sure when I'll be able to FLY fully but 15 mins at a time is cool

Cappuccino · 23/08/2006 21:49

omigod omigod omigod

who is going on the flylady cruise to Alaska????

we can have roommates

I'm not having Ruby though cos she's always doing something more exciting than me, would ruin the holiday

tortoise · 23/08/2006 22:26

LOL@Flylady cruise! i'd never keep up!
Im not organised at all and FLY lady would not be happy with me!

domestickler · 23/08/2006 22:26

hahaha just been reading about the cruise!

Can you imagine how tidy and clean the cabins would be

Cappuccino · 23/08/2006 22:27

we'd all be running round the kitchens like junkies looking for sinks to shine

tortoise · 23/08/2006 22:29

There is no way you would get me on a FLYing cruise!!
Got image of mad women searching for a tiny water stain on a sink!

IvortheEngine · 23/08/2006 22:39

Thanks, tortoise, for your posts. I've just popped back to the PC after an hour or two sorting things out ready for tomorrow. I've just had a look at your link and I think I might join up or at least look regularly once I'm back from my hols. I'll certainly keep a look out for this thread, too. If I do try the Flylady stuff, I'll be looking to MNers for help in understanding some of the wording and for motivation as the nightmare bits of my house are so big, I don't know if I'll know where to start.

tortoise · 23/08/2006 22:43

ivor-Just start with the sink shining and baby steps. You can fit in the missions if you want or just the 15 min de-clutters/hot spot clearing.
We will be here to guide you along your way.
