Has anyone found a perfect Duck Egg Blue paint?

Im searching for a duck egg blue paint but I now have 8 testers on the walls and none are right.

Has anyone else got this type of colour and can tell me what paint it is?

Have you tried Dulux Natural Collection (or colours of nature or something like that)? - this is a range with sand textured paint but I think they do matt as well. We bought "kelp" which we thought was pale sea green but looks more duck-egg on the wall.

Get the Farrow and Ball tester called French Grey, its certainly not grey and doesn't look like the sample card. I saw it at the Hampton Court flower show on a shed with a lavender roof so know it looks lovely with lilac.

Haven't read the whole thread but Dulux Jade white (if they still do it) comes up very duck egg blue when you've got the whole wall done.

oooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh I am so excited

DH is painting as we speak

I went for laura ashley duck egg blue. Was sick of looking in the end.

It is GORGEOUS!

I have done one wall mink which is like a mocha colour and the rest duck egg.

Looks really lovely

I have the laura ashley one in our play room and have also had it in my bedroom in our last house. It is really lovely and looks great with white woodwork or floorboards.

Looks gorgeous.

KTeepee · 11/08/2006 10:13

It looks great! I was looking for a duck egg blue a while back but decided to put off repainting until my ds's have got over the scribbling on the wall stage! Will you let us know how the finish stands up to cleaning off grubby fingermarks, etc?!

debradee · 19/01/2007 19:18

absolutely love domestickler's duck egg colour (see her photo album posted on aug comments). Does anyone know whether that's the laura Ashley pale or standard duck egg and what the 'mocha' brand is and exact name? They are the exact colours I'm looking for and have already spent a fortune on useless tester pots - please help!!!

LadyMacbeth · 19/01/2007 19:22

Have you tried Blue Ground by Farrow & Ball? It's a deeper blue than most duck egg. My kitchen is painted in it. REALLY lovely.

Also try 'Duck egg' by Fired Earth - it was my first choice but they don't do it in oil-based eggshell.

LadyMacbeth · 19/01/2007 19:24

Oh sorry, just skimmed the thread... you've tried the Fired Earth one, and you have in fact painted your room. Good, pleased you like it.

I'll go and get my coat...

FancyFish · 25/02/2009 23:46

Hi, realise this is an old thread, but just wondering if you could tell me what make of paint the "mink" colour was that you used for your colour scheme? Do you know if it's still available?

lisad123 · 25/02/2009 23:49

i have just brought the Homebase version of duck egg blue, will let you know what its like when its up

FancyFish · 26/02/2009 23:51

Yes I have also got the homebase duck egg paint which I'm using either side of my fireplace, but I'm really struggling to find a neutral to paint the rest of the room that goes with the duck egg.

They all seem to be a bit dull with a grey tinge at the moment and I wanted something a bit warmer.

Any suggestions?
