Im searching for a duck egg blue paint but I now have 8 testers on the walls and none are right.

Has anyone else got this type of colour and can tell me what paint it is?

love that sea beet - and think it would look good with dk brown leather.

What colour are duck eggs? Last time I saw some for sale they were white.

Remember seeing little speckled blue ones in nests when I was a girl but they were little nests so not ducks!!

I used Fired Earth/Kevin McCloud's Townhouse Blue in my old house, but I can't find the colour on the website. We had dark brown leather furniture and a teak parquet floor, and the townhouse blue looked lovely.

Sorry, not very helpful is it!

soapbox · 18/07/2006 19:54

pecka - we painted our sitting room duck egg blue - found a colour in a mag that I liked and got Dulux to colour match it. We've since repainted it though as it actually felt a really cold colour when it was up on the walls. It is a big room though.

We painted with the faded gold colour from Laura Ashley and it looks great with brown leather sofas.

apronstrings · 18/07/2006 20:15

brown leather sofas

womblingalong · 18/07/2006 20:17

They sell paint on the oka website (the one in hunkers link), and have two blue/green colours called Shagreen and Skylight. Any good?

sanchpanch · 21/07/2006 11:53

what have you gone for, because i want to copy, my brown sofas arrive in 2 weeks, and i want to paint before that, was thinkin one wall duck egg, and the others mocha,,,,
i looked at the laura ashley one it looks nice in there book but the colour on the tin lookks so different,

housemum · 21/07/2006 12:51

Have you tried Dulux Natural Collection (or colours of nature or something like that)? - this is a range with sand textured paint but I think they do matt as well. We bought "kelp" which we thought was pale sea green but looks more duck-egg on the wall.

thewomanwhothoughtshewasahat · 21/07/2006 13:30

not really duck egg but farrow and ball blackened (it's one of their "whites") is lovely. pale grey with a bluish tinge. We have it in our bedroom and I love it.

cupcakes · 21/07/2006 13:33

we have Farrow and Ball Blue Green (or Green Blue) and it is lovely but I suspect you want more of a grey tinge?
