Toddler had a nearly two hour nap in my lap. Shame that for the last 75 minutes of it I had to wee almost to the point of desperation. He woke up happy, though, so that's good because he was definitely getting "tired" before he fell asleep.

In some of my sorting out I've found things that were given to me YEARS ago that I've never used. And in sorting through I've thought "that would be nice for "J" or "S" or whoever." I want it out my house but I'm considering put the things into the presents box. Someone, please, help me out -- save them & regift or get them to the charity shop asap.

hi everyone!
this weekend has been one any with school age kids will shudder over-school uniform huntingSad
we spent all weekend trawling shop to shop hunting but twas in vain for a pair of trousers ds can walk in without falling downBlush,or a tracksuit "little miss ideals" considers acceptable(bear in mind she wanted a coat though that was a reddish orange niped in at the waist with mahoosive pockets and being a bit portly she looked like an oompah loompah!)

i lost the will to live sunday, ive had no internet credit and to top it off my phone died taking all my contact details and photos to the grave with it..
see this as a warning-any of you that havent written down all your contacts DO IT NOW!!!!!!!

on a brighter note, this pm is pouring so we have made a workbook about Noah with a very simple printed book

we arent especially religious but seeem like a fun thing to do together.the dcs have enjoyed it so much i am considering buying a child bible as i learned about jesus at school as standard and this is not the "done thing" in right on britain

liveinazoo · 06/08/2012 16:56

that sounded awfully political

we have also done maths sheet printouts cos zoolets are missing school terribly and begging me to be teacherShock

this proves the fact we are an odd bunch!!!!Grin

carrotsandcelery · 06/08/2012 17:13

zoo I get ds trousers from Next as they do a slim fit. If you don't get a catalogue you can order them in to the shop instead.

I get him these ones as they are naturally slimmer by design so you don't end up with heaps of empty trouser. They also do a slim fit for those of a slender physique.

As I say, they will order them into the shop so you don't have to get the catalogue and you can still return them if they don't suit.

carrotsandcelery · 06/08/2012 17:15

And zoo my kids have bibles, even though we are not particularly religious either. I think it teaches a good moral code. It is also part of general knowledge.

I don't think that was an overly political statement. Grin

liveinazoo · 06/08/2012 17:18

its been hell hunting, even joggers in most shops now seem to be just a detail but not a drawstring and he could get 2 of him in them!
i did try the next in another part of zoo county and they had no uniform in store!Shock
i will try our "local" oneSmile and treat the poor lad to some combats/jeans that fit as well

i dont understand why so many shops have "comfort fit" for the larger child but so few for skinny minnies like our boys...are slim kids becoming extinct?!

AdoraBell · 06/08/2012 18:00

Hi Zoo I think you could be right, Skinny Minnie's may in deed be an endangered species. Mine gets very frustratedSad

Well, DDs are both back at school today, yay! which means I get some peace and quiet can get errands done this week.

Mine also have bibles, although not their own copies. We aren't religious either and schools here teach Catholisism (unless you put them in the Hebrew school) rather than an open minded approach, so mine don't do that class.

carrotsandcelery · 06/08/2012 18:39

zoo my ds doesn't need the slim fit of the particular style I linked to as they are narrow enough as it is. I think you ds might be even slimmer though.

Funny, I was talking about skinny minny on the other thread, before I saw this, but referring to the opposite problem (ie my backside!)

bessie26 · 06/08/2012 19:25

Haha, my two chubbas have the opposite problem - have to get a size or two up to fit round their tummies, but them struggle with them being too long! In their defence, neither of them are "fat", they just have a sturdy build! and are a bit on the short side

Do you have a Tescos nearby? We find their kids clothes ridiculously skinny, which I always find odd because their adult clothes seem to be the opposite!

carrotsandcelery · 06/08/2012 21:10

Tesco's girls clothes are really skinny (which was rarely useful for dd) but their boys clothes seem to be really broad.

carrotsandcelery · 06/08/2012 22:30

A friend of mine used to for her dd bessie. It's fine for the kick about stuff. Not so handy for the party dresses though Wink

liveinazoo · 07/08/2012 06:51

it doesnt help that he has lost even more weight since he had the flu/ear infection and hasnt regained that...his face is quite angularSad
the problem then is if i feed him chocolate, high calorie snacks dd2 wants then too and she is shall we say, more rounded?
she has bessies dcs afflistion-i spent a lot time folding up and hemming-god bless hemming tape!ha ha
as you can tell im up at silly oclock.we have shopping to do later today...all the zoolets are up and bouncing off the walls already!Shock

carrotsandcelery · 07/08/2012 08:50

today i enforced the rule that the dcs must dress before dh leaves in the morning. otherwise it is torture. ds didnt dress til lunch yesterday and i felt trapped.
both are dressed although ds is not looking paricularly smart (joggers and possibly grubby t shirt).
i was ill last night so going cautiously today. i missed my bead group which i am pretty disappointed about.
the dcs want friends over today so i have said they need to tidy the kitchen first as they have craft projects everywhere. there is not much action but it is in their hands!

Scout19075 · 07/08/2012 08:55

Play dates are like London buses. None for ages then two come along at once! We're going swimming with a friend who's son is a few months younger than Toddler and would be in the same school year (but he's going to be HE as well) then the two of us are meeting up with some other friends at the soft play in the leisure center for a "coffee" (I use the term lightly since I don't drink coffee) and to let the kids play.

However, Toddler was still awake at 8:20 when MrScout got home so had another story goodness knows when he fell asleep and has been awake since 6:30. I'm going to do my best to keep him running and get to bed/asleep at normalish time. MrScout is away overnight for work tonight so could really do with the evening running smoothly.

Hi all, had a bad few days. I suppose it turns everything (routines etc) upside down when you are away for a week.

Trying to get a grip on some sort of "normalish" routine.

It was nice to go away cause it makes you apprieciate things back at home.

Also trying to get a bit of me (hobby) time although a bit tricky when the DC are on summer hols!

It's hard trying to keep everyone happy!

CatsInChaos · 07/08/2012 12:48

Took the DC to the park yesterday --they were driving me mad-- to play with bubbles. I think they had fun! Smile

Need to go shopping later but dreading it! DD and shops don't seem to go well together! Sad Yesterday we were in a shop and she had a tantrum, threw herself on floor and banged her head. Now she has a bruise to add to the others she got the day before at the park Shock Sad
I hope she grows out of it soon! Hmm

educatingarti · 07/08/2012 13:23

A better day for me ( so far) in getting my work head on. Just off to have some lunch!

liveinazoo · 07/08/2012 14:21

my lot engaging in a lord of the flies style rebellion led by dd2 in an agressive and rude manner.attitude is at DEFCON 1Sad
at 8yo im furious over the major tantrum in morrisons when denied sweets while other two got some
on return weve had constant arguements and despite getting wet and retreating into pjs i got them at dressed and dragged them out to local asda george for cheap trainers for school as i wont be drawn in to idiot parent nike mindset when they wear them just 1x a week and grow out of tehm virtually unworn!got little zoo and ds,dd2 were out stock
lunch she was pinching other two sweets afterwards...im lost will to live!!!!
so hiding on MN back in pjsBlush

hope you are feeeling better carrots

CatsInChaos · 07/08/2012 15:45

I have chickened out of going shopping so far. Blush --couldn't face the prospect of another tantrum-- Might try to go later.
We had a day at home today (DH at work).
DS was bashing me with cushions trying to have a cushion fight. Hmm

I need to give myself a boot and get some washing up done. Just having a Brew coffee break before I make myself go in the kitchen.

How are things now zoo?

carrotsandcelery · 07/08/2012 16:09

Yes, how are things Zoo? I haven't ventured out either Cats and have attempted to avoid conflict at all costs.

Ds did phone a friend and call round for another but I think the weather has sent everyone out for the day.

We are out tomorrow so I am trying not to spend money today Wink

Scout19075 · 07/08/2012 17:11

Toddler's desperately trying to fall asleep and I'm desperately trying to make his dinner and keep him awake. ACK!

OP posts:
Scout19075 · 07/08/2012 21:24

Managed to keep Toddler going until 6:30 when I started bedtime. He practically fell asleep on my lap reading stories. He didn't even notice/care that he didn't get his three books.
