carrots, how quickly do they kick in?

Really, it's just a handy way of keeping (pinning) a list of useful webpages - the cool thing is that you can look at what other people have "pinned".

It can be a bit time consuming to begin with as you discover loads of things you like (just ask scout!), but it quietens down after a while!

Thanks for the chocolate & cake scout - I have added them to the chocolate & hot chocolate already in my tummy Grin

Bugger. I need to wash my hair & get everything ready for the nursery run in the morning

bessie26 · 18/07/2012 22:37

Anyone looking for a Lego project?

Scout19075 · 18/07/2012 22:44

That's awesome, bessie.

Wow! I will have to show dh when he is finished cycling. Brilliant bessie.

AdoraBell · 19/07/2012 04:10

I'm feeling rather proud of my DDs this evening. Out with a younger friend and mum today they had McD's in a shopping mall, one of those open food courts rather than a seperate McD's place. Anyway, DD2 always orders a huge burger and never finishes it. They were approached by a man asking if he could have their leftovers as he has no money etc. he wasn't begging for money, not really pestering, just looking for a bit of food. They gave him enough money (about £3) to get himself a meal. (As much as you can call McD's a meal, but that's a different matter.) Friend's mum so impressed she reimbursed them and bought them a little gift.

I'm off to bed now, didn't intend to be up this late after yesterday.

Carrots I hope the pills settle down for you, take care all

carrotsandcelery · 19/07/2012 08:18

Adora thats lovely. Shows a lot of compassion. For children that is a big dent in their cash flow too so very kind of them. What a lovely story to start my day on.

carrotsandcelery · 19/07/2012 08:23

I didnt take my pills. The side effects
are worse than the problem.
I am all set to take the dcs out for the day and they want to stay at home. Im shocked but quite happy if they are.
So far dd seems more herself too. Touch wood. Who knows if it will last.

Morning all!
Carrots - I understand the meds problem. I've been trying 2 different meds that are supposed to help me sleep better (one symptom of fibromyalgia is very poor quality sleep) but they have both left me feeling rubbish the next day ( 2nd one better than first though) so I've stopped taking any for the moment and I'm trying to use thinking/self hypnosis to help me sleep better ( not sure that's working atm either). I may pick up on one of my meds again after my holiday. The thing is, I expect that if I could take them solid for 6 weeks, the side effects would wear off but I can't afford to take that long off work and if I feel too rubbish to drive then I can't work!
Have you tried taking a half dose? A Dr friend of mine suggested that for me ( and working up to a higher dose as I get used to it) and it did seem to be better the one night I tried it so if I do decide to restart the meds. I think that is what I'll do!

bessie - I'm currently off to make lists!

carrotsandcelery · 19/07/2012 10:43

Hi Arti! The doc has just given me 7 tablets to try to get my body into a better sleep routine so that I stop my twitching. I didn't take last night and I feel loads more like myself and clear headed and able to get on with things. I can also drive which is a bonus as not driving where I live leaves me pretty isolated. I am just not going to take them.

I have an extra child today. I love having kids round to play and I am particularly fond of this child. Grin

Dd also seems a bit more herself too, still. Fx! Grin

I am taking a break from the ironing. I have done loads and loads. It took a long time before it looked like I had even made a dent in the basket but now I am nearly just down to school shirts. I am ignoring the fact there is a pulley full of clothes and two clothes airers full as well Hmm

The caterpillars are causing great excitement. They have grown already. I think I will copy you Scout and take a photo story of them as they grow so fast.

carrotsandcelery · 19/07/2012 13:14

Hellooooo! Heeeeeello! Anyboday out there? :0(

I feel like I have done a day's work already. I have done soooo much ironing, cooked two meals, supervised kids, cleaned bathroom and so the list goes on.

I need a little boost and am wishing I had bought some chocolate!

AdoraBell · 19/07/2012 14:05

Hi Carrots I'm here, just trying to muster up some energy. So far all I've managed is breakfast. DDs are still snoozing as they've had a lot of late nights.

carrotsandcelery · 19/07/2012 14:18

Hi Adora. Mine are bouncing. I am really hoping that the next door neighbour's son is currently offshore or he will hate me if he has been trying to have long lies Blush

CatsInChaos · 19/07/2012 14:59

Hi all, This afternoon was the start of our summer hols.

I have already challenged DS to a sponsored silence Grin but it was cut short cause one of his friends came to call for him. It was quite amusing though!!

CatsInChaos · 19/07/2012 15:07

Hoping for a lie in tomorrow Hmm Will be nice to not have the alarm go off!

carrotsandcelery · 19/07/2012 15:21

I love the relaxed mornings. The second week i slept a bit later but now i am still up and dressed fairly early but it is just much more relaxed. Enjoy cars!

Scout19075 · 19/07/2012 15:32

Scrub seemed to be a hit. Grin Toddler and his BFF kept hugging and even kissed after swimming -- SSSOOOOOOO sweet!

carrotsandcelery · 19/07/2012 15:56

Hi Zoo!

carrotsandcelery · 19/07/2012 15:57
CatsInChaos · 19/07/2012 17:15

Zoo I wondered where you had been. I hope you all get better soon!

I'm just popping in briefly before I cook dinner, might return later.

carrotsandcelery · 19/07/2012 18:12

I have given up on the idea of cooking again today and have bought pizzas from our local shop. I have done enough cooking for one day.

I have finally filled up the car with diesel too. I am using much less now the kids are off, probably because I am not taxiing dd to all her activities.

I think dh is taking dd golfing this evening so ds and I will chill for a while. He is shattered and needs some quiet time. I might stick him in the bath.

bessie I hope you have had a a better day today.

Scout19075 · 19/07/2012 20:01

MrScout is away overnight with work. Toddler is VERY tired. I think he's finally given up the good fight. I'm sitting eating my dinner (left-over homemade sweet & sour chicken) straight from the pot I microwaved reheated it in.
