I just done a test for Aspergers/Autism and scored 39. I'll try to link the thread.

CatsInChaos · 16/07/2012 14:51

Here

I have often wondered about it!

CatsInChaos · 16/07/2012 14:55

Just realized the time! Better get DD ready for school run!

carrotsandcelery · 16/07/2012 17:21

Cats I wouldn't worry about it. We are all on the spectrum. The friend I was out with on Friday is a psychotherapist and was researching personality disorders. Out of interest she tested herself and she, technically, has a personality disorder Shock She definitely doesn't. Ds scores really highly on those tests but when he was officially tested they just said he had some "quirks" and was definitely not autistic. It is like googling health concerns - it's amazing we are all still walking around Grin Wink

carrotsandcelery · 16/07/2012 17:22

Ds's psychologist did telll dh and me that dh is probably autistic though Grin He seems to be coping fine nonetheless Wink

zlist · 16/07/2012 18:08

I made it over carrotsandcelery - thanks for the suggestion! Bessie26, I have just looked at your blog (having been told how amazing you are with healthy meal planning). WOW. I love it! I think I am going to learn a lot from you (I seriously struggle with the whole meal planning/shopping thing resulting in excessive amount of spending in the supermarket and plenty of body clutter) Smile.

Scout19075 · 16/07/2012 20:24

Definitely early bed tonight.

carrotsandcelery · 16/07/2012 20:28

Grin at body clutter! I am trying to declutter my body right now too zlist in a non aggressive manner Grin

bessie I suggested to z that she might learn from your meal planning tactics and your shopping list methods etc as she mentioned over/under shopping issues etc.

Scout well done for surviving the day. It sucks when you don't get enough sleep.

Dd is currently making name labels so we can make the chore peg things from either your or bessie's Pinterest boards.

CatsInChaos · 16/07/2012 21:15

Hi all,
Carrots You are probably right! Things like Google make you worry so I guess It could be similar. I feel a little more on edge today anyway so probably worrying more than I should!

bessie26 · 16/07/2012 21:16

Glad you like the blog zlist! I only started it to try to get my recipes into a more manageable format, so am pleased it is useful for someone else! - I don't make any promises about reducing body clutter though! Grin

Hope the chore pegs go well carrots - I don't think I have enough options for DD1(3.8) to do them yet. She did make a lovely job of my kitchen cupboard fronts this morning though!

I managed to resist the lure of a nap this arvo & powered through the tiredness fuelled by hot tea. Managed to do my house blessing (although I conveniently 'forgot' to mop the utility room floor Blush)

Must go to bed early tonight, but I need to finish getting stuff ready for work tomorrow and I have a half bottle of wine which really needs decluttering....

Scout19075 · 16/07/2012 21:17

Toddler didn't nap or rest properly today but then he starts to flag around 3/4 p.m. and become a bit Angry in his in his tiredness. I did manage to take him to Tesco and do the weekly shop early this afternoon (without any meltdowns/wobbles).

carrotsandcelery · 16/07/2012 21:31

Oh dear Scout. It is a tricky stage.

bessie you have confused me. Do I want hot tea or do I want a Crabbies? I am very easily influenced by suggestion Wink

And can anyone dissuade me from inhaling a whole tiger loaf? It is only a little one!

bessie26 · 16/07/2012 21:31

Fx you both get chance to catch up on some sleep tomorrow scout & get back on track. I think DD2 is brewing a cold &/or teething so I'm bracing myself for a few more days of early starts

carrotsandcelery · 16/07/2012 21:35

My dd is losing her voice tonight. I think there are still loads of bugs hanging around because of the damp weather.

bessie26 · 16/07/2012 21:38

Crabbies sounds the perfect accompaniment to tiger loaf carrots! (I have no idea what it is though!)

Scout19075 · 16/07/2012 21:41

Very tricky, indeed, and I know it's just a stage. So while I try not to get any/frustrated I let him know that slapping/kicking (two things which primarily happen during nappy changes when he's overly-tired/frustrated) are NOT acceptable no matter how tired he is. I've also noticed his wacky sleeping has affected his appetite. Oh well, it will all sort itself out.

carrotsandcelery · 16/07/2012 21:47

You are not alone Scout. They all go through it. Make the most you can of the moments when he will eat. It will pass and we will hand hold while you sit it out.

Which don't you know bessie? Tiger loaf is fresh baked bread with sesame oil in it. Yum! Crabbies is alcoholic ginger beer. Yum!

I have gone for hot decaf tea and one slice of bread but did notice that I didn't tidy away the things so I am clearly planning to go back!

Scout19075 · 16/07/2012 22:17

Can I canvas for opinions, please?

Toddler has a BFF. T and Toddler and have been swimming together since they were five months old (so, seven terms now). T's mum had to change swimming days and I changed to keep the kids together. T's mum & I actually met at ante-natal class but didn't become friendly until we started swimming with the then babies and I do consider her a friend. Since then the kids have become BFFs, we both refer to the others as our child's BFF, we get together with the kids outside of swimming, etc. The kids exchange presents for birthdays & Christmas and Toddler also gave her youngest a present for his first birthday and I have shared some of Toddler's clothes. Last Christmas I gave her a jar of homemade mincemeat so she and T could make mince pies for the family (I know the husband, too, though not as well for obvious reasons).

Anyway, Friend's birthday is this week would it be weird to make her a jar of homemade face/body scrub for her birthday? I want to acknowledge her birthday but not in an over-the-top scary way (and I'm a fan of little homemade gifts for friends so more a token gesture than spending oodles of money). But would it be weird? I don't really do present exchanging with a lot of people here (in the UK) and the people I do tend to be through Guiding and for me have been more acknowledging all they do for the girls/other women (like, for Christmas everyone on the unit team would get a mulled wine kit or some chocolates from the States and whenever I'd run an overnight event (camp, etc) I'd also have a thank you gift for ever member of the leadership team who helped me).

OP posts:
carrotsandcelery · 16/07/2012 22:31

I think it would be lovely Scout, not weird at all. It is especially nice that it is something homemade and thoughtful.

bessie26 · 16/07/2012 22:48

I think it would be lovely too scout!

It was the tiger bread I was confused about carrots - it sounds delicious!

Scout19075 · 16/07/2012 22:51

Gah! Just looked at the time. I wanted to be in bed an hour ago!

Good night!

Scout19075 · 16/07/2012 22:51

Thank you for not thinking I'm weird. Grin

Cats that's a very interesting link. I've often wondered if there was something there in OH's family (he comes out as a 40 with me doing the test, so Defo not scientific) but he actually got a bit better with stress management therapy. and when I tell him he's being an A-hole he gets a lot better. Even I would have scored higher before I had therapy, so I really don't think you need to worry about your score.

Not much going on here, took the DDs bowling today and I managed to hit my knee with the ballBlush. DD2 has been a little horror today, I was planning an early night but OH offered them a DVD.

Bessie I'm going to take a look at your blog when I next get a minute to myself.

carrotsandcelery · 17/07/2012 08:08

Bessie i recommend you leave the tiger bread on the shelf. I put on two pounds yesterday despite doing loads at the stables and the tiger bread being my only misdemeanour Sad
I think that, by law, as soon as you are diagnosed with an under active thyroid, they should take your bathroom scales away. I go for a weekend away with my dmum and eat the same and she loses 5lb and i put on a few
I slept for two hours and forty five mins last night and i am in a bad mood. Can you tell? Wink

Scout19075 · 17/07/2012 08:42

Oh dear, carrots, and I was just about to come along and sing the praises of 6-7 uninterrupted hours of sleep. Toddler came in again around 5:30, climbed into our bed and promptly fell asleep against my back until MrScout's alarm went off.

I try to put him back into his own bed in the middle of the night but surely 5:30 a.m. is allowed for a stay-in-bed cuddle. It's better then him bouncing and demanding trains & breakfast at that hour.

I'm going to take him to Toddler skating in a little bit.
