Come inside and settle down on the sofa.

Carrots Maybe you need to do less and take more time to "chill out" with your feet up. Give yourself a morning off and just watch telly or something you like doing. It could be your body's way of telling you to slow down. Stress and exhaustion have a funny way of showing up --as I have found out to my cost--

bessie26 · 17/06/2012 21:33

I have a (secret) amazon wish list & throughout the year if I think of anything someone (usually DH) would like for a gift, or they mention something - I add it to this list - then, when the time comes I sometimes have a clue of somewhere to begin!

carrotsandcelery · 17/06/2012 22:44

Cats my body is definitely saying that enough is enough. I needed more time to recover from the bug I had last weekend and, with various commitments, I haven't had it.

I am going to say, "Sorry, I can't." this week to everything apart from the essentials. ie I will do the basics and ferry the dcs but that is about it. I don't want to go into the hols run down and our hols start in less than 2 weeks.

As for dh's gift, the only things he wants are really, really expensive things. eg the bl*dy sound bar of the famous bl*dy sound bar incident of bonus 2012 Grin

I should point out that he used half of that bonus to pay his share of my birthday camera so I cannot really raise the issue, nor would I want to Grin

Fortunately he did like the bag of sweets I got him from Lidl - they are the sort you get in France, our nearest equivalent being a Fruitella, although they are not really like Fruitellas.

We have just watched Tyrannosaur. Not for the faint hearted. I feel like I have been through a mangle. It was brilliant though. Really, really moving and shocking but somehow uplifting too. It also gave me a chance for a major bubble which I suspect has done me the power of good. Blush

I am feeling so guilty. I am normally pretty good at gift shopping but I totally got it wrong this time. There are just too many gifts in June.

Should I get him something more special to make up for it? I hate it when dh gets it wrong.

I've had quite a morning!

carrotsandcelery · 18/06/2012 12:32

OP posts:
CatsSleepAnywhere · 18/06/2012 12:34

I 'll try to link the threads.

CatsSleepAnywhere · 18/06/2012 12:39

HERE is one of them

CatsSleepAnywhere · 18/06/2012 12:41

HERE is the other one, see my post and what happened

CatsSleepAnywhere · 18/06/2012 12:54

How are you today carrots?

I need to make some lunch in a mo then sort some washing.

carrotsandcelery · 18/06/2012 13:03

I am extremely shocked by the story of the lady lying on the ground. What on earth was she doing? How very strange.

I am ok thanks Cats. I still feel groggy and still can't eat normally but I don't feel as volatile as yesterday. I suspect I have a cold brewing.

I have given up and bought a second clothes airer in an attempt to get the laundry processed a bit more quickly. I don't have too much waiting just now but when it does build up it is very tricky to turn it around fast and I don't want to put the heating on just to dry laundry, even if it is still only 8C just now.

I know. I'm kind of glad my phone wouldn't connect cause if I had got an ambulance turn up and she had gone I would have felt stupid! Shock I wonder if she was on drugs or something cause her eyes were open when she was on the floor and for her to not say anything was a bit odd!! She then got up and walked off without saying anything as if nothing had happened. It has left me a bit shaken!

CatsSleepAnywhere · 18/06/2012 13:15

Maybe you should try to eat soup or stew, something that's easy to swallow and nourishing. I hope you feel better soon.

Drying the washing is a pain if it's not the right weather. We have a large tower airer that we use all year. Also do line drying but we have a shady back yard so it takes a bit longer to get dry.

carrotsandcelery · 18/06/2012 13:31

I thought the same when I was in Tesco Cats and bought the makings of butternut squash soup and goulash. I think I need plain and simple food for now.

We are trying to set up a routine for towel washing and sheet washing as well which means I need the extra drying space frequently as I keep putting those things off in an attempt to keep on top of the clothes. We may have to invest in a new tumble drier as well but I am trying not to do that.

It does sound like the lady lying down was either severely mentally ill or under the influence of something. I would try not to dwell on it Cats as it is something you can't influence or change.

Today is just getting weirder!! I now have a random text from someone who I don't know.

I am getting slightly freaked out now! Shock

carrotsandcelery · 18/06/2012 14:29

I get that now and again Cats. It is just a wrong number. You can either ignore it or text back and tell them.

I am trying to transfer a pattern from the computer to my book of patterns. I was going to leave it and just use it on the computer but I have had trouble getting it to load so feel I should write it down while I have access to it. It is taking AGES though and is really boring.

Eeeek! It has just started to absolutely bucket down, just in time for the school run Shock It is so loud I can't hear the radio.

I have made a goulash and put it in the slow cooker. It seems the perfect food for this sort of weather. Grin

Do I really have to go outside in this?

It is not just a little shower. It is as strong as a power shower. Hmm

bessie26 · 18/06/2012 15:27

carrots have you seen the heated airers? I have no idea how much they cost to buy or run, but I would defo be investigating (lakeland) if I didn't have my TD.

I haven't managed to do as much frantic cleaning as I'd hoped as DD2 woke from her nap early screaming blue murder! She has just settled down on my shoulder - 10 mins after having some calpol, so I am blaming teeth I can feel my back twinging already & I am pining for the hot cup of tea I have left on the kitchen worktop!!
