That is exactly my problem too bessie. She wears a 4 or sometimes a 5 so we are moving out of the fitted shoe market, much to my distress as she is clearly still growing.

I want her to have something with a decent sole and some support that she can still run around in and play in. I think she can see the merit in that but she also wants the pretty, strappy, silver cut your feet to slivers sandals as well. To add to the fun she is a wide fitting too.

One of her best friends had an op today and we are hoping to pop by to keep her company tomorrow while her mum does some jobs so hopefully she won't take forever choosing/finding. I am hoping we have fun and a bit of "girly" time together. FX!

Aaaarrrrrrggh! FLEAS

OH and I have been bitten and I found one in the bed, at least I think it was a flea. OH's fault clearly, he's been cuddling the puppies and then going to bed fully dressed due to man flu. He also cuddled them at the vets before we bought them.

I haven't actually seen any on the puppies, and they're not scratching much, but still Aaaaaaaaaarrrrrrggh! I don't have any anti-flea stuff, have to go shopping tomorrow. Off to google now, I don't actually know what to do about them as never had to deal with them before.

carrotsandcelery · 16/06/2012 09:10

Oh no Adora! Shock Good Luck sorting that out.

I am in deep shock.

My friend's husband has been made a "Sir" in the honours list Shock

Dd was being driven around by a "Sir" the other day Shock

Is it wrong that I find it a bit funny?

CatsSleepAnywhere · 16/06/2012 14:42

Not been feeling too great here also sharing computer with everyone so don't get on here much lately.

Hopes everyone is o.k. Smile

bessie26 · 16/06/2012 15:31

zoo my old male cat was neutered & still sprayed in the house. Google - there are some things you should/shouldn't do (although nothing I tried worked Sad)

I am at ILs as DHs cousins are visiting (is v cute watching the little kiddies play together), bored & low on battery. Everyone else is outside in the garden, but I'm having to stay indoors to listen out for DD2(napping) as I wrongly assumed that they when they said her room was "all ready" that they had plugged the baby monitor in.

I am also Shock at how Shock I am at how dirty their house is - not so much dust bunnies, as dust elephants!!

bessie26 · 16/06/2012 15:32

zoo do the blog thing - it's really easy!!

liveinazoo · 16/06/2012 16:24

bessieGrin at dust elephants!!!!

im having to try the cake recipe again, its come out greasySad,i fear my old scales may be heading for the great dustbin in the sky as the flour volume looked a bit lackingSad

dcs have discovered E.T on tv

they are seriously goggle boxing today,i suspect square eyes at bedtimeShock

AdoraBell · 16/06/2012 18:11

Hi Cats , how are you doing?

Ooooh, Carrots a Sir eh, well he must have done summit deserving to get that level of recognition. Congrats to Carrot's friend's DH.

I'm doing shed loads of laundry today, can be a Dame of Laundry, wad'ya think?

Re the fleas, I am tempted to nuke the house, but we have no alternative accommodation so I'll have to do it the old fashioned way. But Eeeeeeeeeuuuuuuuuuw!

Zoo oh no, I know exactly how much that stinks, I found that the bicarbonate I used on the carpets really worked, any chance it would work on your sofa? Not sure about the faux leather surface tho, sorry. Not sure about asking a charity to pay for neutering either, even tough if they told you it was done they really should- in principle. It's just they might not have to dosh, being a charity and all.

My DDs are not goggle boxing today, at least not until they've dealt with the mess they've left in their wake. Plus, OH is currently hogging the goggle box.

Right, I really to get on, TTFN

carrotsandcelery · 16/06/2012 18:44

Adora he is a politician so I am not sure if he has done summit deserving or not Grin

Zoo poor you with your sofa issue. Bicarb does absorb smell really well but I don't know about what it would do to your faux leather. I would ask in the litter tray. There is bound to be a wealth of wisdom on spraying cats.

I have been shoe shopping with dd. I need Wine

OP posts:
CatsSleepAnywhere · 16/06/2012 18:55

Feeling a little better now. Haven't read through the thread yet so sorry if I have missed anything.

We bought a casserole dish at last so today I have made a sausage casserole with beans and mash. Grin Twas luverly!!

AdoraBell · 16/06/2012 19:27

Cats glad you're feeling a bit better, that casserole does sound lovely

Carrots ah, yes I see your point

I still need to get on, so I'm off, again!

Scout19075 · 16/06/2012 19:45

I'm tired. I need more sleep. I need to wrap and cut things out and do a thousand and one things while we're at the in-laws but I can't be bothered.

bessie26 · 16/06/2012 20:24

my FIL has an OBE - does that make him a Sir?

what shoes did you get carrots?

We are home & managed to get the overtired DC into bed without any meltdowns I do have a cracking headache though. I've just downed a pint of squash & had a couple of brufen. Now slurping a Wine and half watching the thing about Kapoor while doing an online supermarket shop.

carrotsandcelery · 17/06/2012 08:33

I don't think an OBE makes him a Sir but it is pretty amazing bessie. What did he get it for? Imho the MBE and OBE awards are often more deserving than the "Sir" awards. The Sirs are often political or law related (and therefore political).

Dd got Nike trainers in JJB sport and McKinley sandals in Intersport. We were very, very, very lucky in JJB Sport because we got the one shop assistant in there who seemed to be really nice AND to know how to fit a shoe. We got no help in Intersport but luckily sports style sandals are fairly easy to fit and adjust so I wasn't as concerned. The Nike trainers were actually cheaper than any fitted trainer we have ever had from the fitted shoe shop too so it wasn't as awful as I feared.

She is wearing the trainers in the house this morning so I think she is pleased Grin

Cats sausage casserole sounds delicious. Yum!

We went out for a meal last night for my ddad's birthday and I ended up ill again through the night. Hmm I was not as near as bad as last weekend but I am a bit Hmm about it all. We went to an Art Exhibition yesterday and had tickets for a food tent at it so it could have been the food there but I am slightly anxious now about what I eat.

OP posts:
CatsSleepAnywhere · 17/06/2012 10:59

Oh dear Carrots, that's bad luck to get ill twice in one week!

I am showered and dressed, just need to get the DC washed, dressed. They seem a bit reluctant at the weekends which is quite understandable! Grin

Just gonna have a Brew and lurk for a little while.

carrotsandcelery · 17/06/2012 11:58

I have had a massive meltdown.

I think I have recovered now but I still feel a bit shakey.

I went to make a Brew and discovered the bowl of sweets that I had left out for the babysitter last night (disclaimer I left healthy snacks as well) was sitting on the worktop when I had hidden it last night and only had a few sweets left in it.

I went to ask dh (who was in the shower) if he had eaten them (he does that sort of thing) but he hadn't touched them.

I just saw red. Angry

I went totally nuts.

Ds was completely petrified and started crying.

Dd was really cheeky and acted like the innocent victim. Angry

They eventually confessed that they had eaten them together. Angry

I don't know what came over me. I made them strip to their pants and sit on their beds in their bedroom until I was calm enough to speak to them.

I then went to my bed and sobbed.

When dh had had his shower and was dressed and I had calmed down and said enough muffled bad words in our room we discussed punishments and dh came upstairs with me and issued them as I didn't trust myself not to go mental again. Blush

Why, why, why?

They had even eaten the croissants I got for dh for a father's day breakfast.

Is it just me or is that just kids?

Dd has had her new trainers and sandals confiscated. Ds has been banned from the laptop permanently and the wii for now.

Dd is now quietly doing her homework project and ds is drawing.

What the actual...?

CatsSleepAnywhere · 17/06/2012 16:42

I had to "make" DS go with me to the shops so we could buy some things for fathers day although I had bought a big --expensive present (but not very expensive) during the week. I had to get DS in from playing out just so he would write out the fathers day card. Shock Hmm I put it down to "pre-teen hormones" DD on the other hand happily sat and "made" coloured in-- a card for daddy. DS has a fairly good relationship with his dad, he just seemed to go a bit "Kevin the teenager" though.

I am warming the oven for dinner. I fell asleep at around lunch time. Shock seems to be becoming a habit lately. (falling asleep in the daytime)

Hope everyone else is o.k.

carrotsandcelery · 17/06/2012 18:52

Hi Cats.

Dh wasn't impressed with his Father's Day gift which made me feel totally rubbish, especially since I had got the same for my ddad (golf gadget).

Other than that the day has improved.

Ds got involved in Hama beading and dd went off to her activity. Then ds and I went down to see my ddad and the rest of the family who had gathered there, while dh went golfing, which seems to have cheered him up at least.

Ds is very weepy and exhausted though. He is really wishing he hadn't done it. Hopefully a lesson has been learnt about joining in when others misbehaved.

bessie26 · 17/06/2012 20:24

Hello.

I think DH liked his gifts - both girls made cards at nursery. DD2 "made" a medal for him, DD1 chose a stretchy wibbily rubbery centipede from the local shop & I got him a docking/charging thing for his phone so he doesn't have to hunt around for the wire under the bed.

One year DD1 got him a "magic wand" to control the TV - it cost almost £50 Shock and he has never, ever used it. One day I will get round to ebaying it and will pocket the money

We went to the beach this morning & popped in to see my parents who live there on the way home. This afternoon we "dealt" with my grandad & the saga of his car selling. (he has sent off the change of ownership details before getting the money )

FIL got it for his job - something to do with the police force, although he wasn't actually a police man. Confused

Just a few more things to add to the supermarket shop tonight... not sure what else to do - perhaps sort through some photos...

carrotsandcelery · 17/06/2012 21:01

Well done bessie. Next year please tell me what to get dh and my ddad as June is just overwhelming me. I am sooooooo ready for the school holidays and not to be running all over the place with the dcs.

bessie why not read some blogs for some hobby ideas?

We are having film night, having been out last night.

I have crisps and dip but they are not sitting well with me. I fear I may have to give up eating - my very favourist hobby of all Shock [fear emoticon]

OP posts:
bessie26 · 17/06/2012 21:16

are you still feeling rough carrots? Sad - seems wierd that you would get poorly eating out twice in a week, but perhaps your tum hadn't fully recovered from the first time?

I would be quite pleased (in a wierd kind of way) if I could give up eating as a hobby!

I don't know if I have time to have a hobby? I guess I could stop MNing & do something more constructive......? Shock

CatsSleepAnywhere · 17/06/2012 21:16

I got DH a dressing gown although it is meant to be from the DC Wink and today we bought chocolates and some of DH favourite cakes. DH had said he would like a dressing gown --otherwise we wouldn't of know what to get--

I think men are hard to buy for!!
