A place to have a blether, and a Brew. All chatters are welcome, stepping or otherwise.

Come inside and settle down on the sofa.

I am having ice cream for dinner. Blush

carrotsandcelery · 14/06/2012 19:26

I am jealous scout. I have the munchies.

Scout19075 · 14/06/2012 19:31

I didn't think to take anything from the freezer for dinner and I'm sick & tired of pasta (I've had it for lunch or dinner every day this week) so don't fancy making that. Don't know what else to eat so ice cream is keeping me going until I work out what I have that sounds good.

carrotsandcelery · 14/06/2012 19:46

Dh and I had spicy chick peas. Does that appeal? Soften onions and garlic, add cumin, chilli and curry powder, cook for a min or two, add tin of tomatoes and some tom puree, serve with rice and a little grated cheddar on top. Deeeeelicious!

I don't have several of the needed ingredients. Thanks though, carrots. I might see if there's a can of soup lurking in the cabinet.

carrotsandcelery · 14/06/2012 19:54

I could eat half the contents of the cupboards tonight, and go back for seconds. Blush I am trying to stay glued to the sofa instead but struggling. B**dy hormones are a pest at times.

I really want pizza.

bessie26 · 14/06/2012 20:52

Can't you just defrost something from the freezer scout? Or cook it from frozen for a bit longer? We had yummy aubergine curry tonight Grin

Scout19075 · 14/06/2012 21:00

All the frozen stuff is packages of chicken breast of bundles of sausages -- too much for me to eat all myself tonight and we won't be here this weekend (leaving tomorrow morning, not home until Monday or Tuesday) so it would go off before I got to it again.

bessie26 · 14/06/2012 21:10

Ah. When we buy chicken (not very often) we put the bits into separate bags before freezing it so DH can get just one bit out.

Did you order pizza? Grin

Scout19075 · 14/06/2012 21:20

Yes, I do, too, but I bundle them by portions (usually in twos). Sausages get wrapped in fives since that's how many I cook at a time.

I'm just going for a can of soup, a bowl of cereal and some more ice cream. Blush

Scout19075 · 14/06/2012 21:24

Sorry, that should have portions I normally cook.

carrotsandcelery · 14/06/2012 22:48

My dmum phoned and stopped me eating the rest of the raisins. The munchies seem to have passed for me thank goodness.

I have learned a lesson tonight. Cheap beads are a false economy Sad I bought some yesterday for a project a friend asked me to do and they are rubbish and don't sit nicely at all. They will have to be used for a different project but meantime I have no beads for the project I was asked for. Buy cheap, buy dear!

carrots, I have to ask, why were your judgy pants pulled up today?

carrotsandcelery · 15/06/2012 09:37

Scout I feel mean for mentioning it. I just witnessed Little Emperor Syndrome in full swing. The little boy in question is clever, articulate, lively and great fun but the parenting and grandparenting is alarming. No requests were enforced, cruel behaviour wasn't checked, conversation was about him and him only... He is clearly adored and that is lovely but sometimes it leaves people a little blinkered too.

Morning everyone!

I have had quite a morning with ds. He was up at 5am and although he got dressed instantly he was clearly very tired and volatile. Sadly I can't envisage many stickers on the Moshi Monster chart today Sad

I am going out with a friend to shop for a fundraiser tonight so have cracked on with lots of jobs so that it doesn't all fall apart.

DD2 was up at 5am too carrots - like she has done every morning this week - I think it's teeth as she is drooling like a hound! I popped her back in bed at 930 & she had a 30min nap. I'm hoping to sneak in a nap this arvo, but I have to stay awake until B&Q have delivered the new cupboard for the utility room.

DD1 & I made Fairy Cakes this morning while DD2 happily played with some flour & paper cases (must mop floor later!)

carrotsandcelery · 15/06/2012 15:39

The cakes look cute bessie. You said you were not artistic but it is an artistic photo. I concur that you are selling yourself short. We are too old for that bessie - we need to boast from the rooftops be quietly confident now we have reached our prime. Grin

Just popping in to see if anyone's around ??

bessie26 · 15/06/2012 19:51

ahhhh you are too kind carrots, but I think you will find I have another few months before I reach my 'prime' Wink

I'm starting a meal plan & shopping list, so will be on-line & bored! Now DD2 has a swimming lesson at 830 on saturday mornings, I can't even drink much wine on a friday night

carrotsandcelery · 15/06/2012 20:15

Cheeky!!! Grin

I am getting a bit fed up with weekends that are timetabled from 9.30am onwards. I am actually having to timetable time in with dd to get her some trainers in amongst it all.

Where would I go to buy an 11 yo sandals that are sensible enough to satisfy me and not shred her feet but which also meet at least some of her fashion conscious requirements?

OP posts:
bessie26 · 15/06/2012 20:58

I have no idea what kind of sandles a fashion conscious 11 yo would want to wear! (One for the S&B boards I think!) What size is she?
