A place to have a blether, and a Brew. All chatters are welcome, stepping or otherwise.

Come inside and settle down on the sofa.

I was doing dishes when my friend appeared this morning, so they were clear earlier in the day, but dd made tonight's meal (salads) so chaos now reigns again and I just can't face it.

Someone kick me off to bed.

CatsSleepAnywhere · 31/05/2012 03:57

Morning all, I woke up at about 2.30am so after laying in bed for ages trying to go back to sleep --but couldn't-- I thought I would get up. I will probably regret it later but I can't see the point of just laying in bed wide awake!

I must loose my "inner bully" and stop having a go at myself for not doing things right!

Scout Hope you are feeling better today.

Carrots glad you have informed school of your thoughts. Smile Hopefully this time --if things go wrong-- they will understand what has happened. I hope you get what I mean. I mean if DS becomes upset/anxious they will understand what may have caused it.

CamperWidow · 31/05/2012 06:59

Morning all.
Cats Shock I thought this mornings 4:50 was bad!!! I don't mind too much, gives me chance to do Shred, but Lol is starting to get up early now too and that I don't want! It's so hard not to make any noise and keep Muddles quietly entertained for an hour and a half. Fortunatly watching Mommy jump and sweat like an edjit seems to do the trick! Grin

Scout19075 · 31/05/2012 08:45

Morning all!

carrotsandcelery · 31/05/2012 08:52

Morning everyone.

Cats do you think you can nap while kitten is at nursery?

Scout how is your arm today?

Ds is anxious about going to school again today. What a pest. Everything had been going so well. At least now we know why and we have the teacher fully informed.

We are going to be late because he is having a fit about everything today

OP posts:
CatsSleepAnywhere · 31/05/2012 09:28

I think I will try to nap while she is at nursery as long as I set my alarm clock so I can go and fetch her again later.
I just feel too tired to do anything else! I am wondering if the recent hot weather has upset my routine. Confused It is rainy today but still too hot for coats but we had to wear rain coats.

Might return later on.

Scout19075 · 31/05/2012 09:52

Arm has finally stopped buzzing but it's still tender and sore. The vein they finally got to work is still puffy and can be seen sticking out of my arm a bit. If I move it wrong (my arm/wrist) it twinges. Swimming will be interesting since I haven't been picking Toddler up/balancing with that arm.

A nap sounds like a good idea, Cats.

I'm still waiting for Technicolor wee. Blush I'm oddly fascinated by the thought of it. Double Blush I guess that's why they check to make sure you have fully-functioning kidneys.

Scout19075 · 31/05/2012 12:22

Anyone around over lunchtime?

CatsSleepAnywhere · 31/05/2012 12:49

I am lurking on and off --if DD will let me--

I am wondering about making up my own version of babysteps (just for my personal use) I find I can't keep up with the proper Flylady babysteps. I need to have a think about what I feel I would be able to do and what fits in around my life.

CatsSleepAnywhere · 31/05/2012 12:52

Carrots did you manage to get everyone to school this morning? I know you said DS was anxious.
How are you?

Scout19075 · 31/05/2012 12:59

I feel I've fallen off the Flylady babysteps bandwagon. Some of them just don't fit with my life like you, Cats. I do like the to do lists though. I was doing them anyway.

CatsSleepAnywhere · 31/05/2012 13:11

Some days I feel I need a list and other days I don't.
I know I need to "start from scratch" again though --even if it's with a small list that just works for me--

carrotsandcelery · 31/05/2012 13:45

I like the idea of just doing our own personal lists for now. I will maybe build up to fly lady again after the summer holidays but right now I feel a need to get through all the extra end of term activities and shows and then to wind down and enjoy the dcs being off over the summer.

Obviously I will still have to do jobs but I will do the basics and any extras will be a bonus rather than something I feel guilty for not doing.

I did get the dcs to school Cats. I reminded ds that he is going to play with a new friend after school tonight so that motivated him to put clothes on etc. I put a note in his link book about being reluctant again just so that his teacher is aware.

From the gossip (which is never that reliable and something I don't contribute to in the playground) the boy who was hiding his stuff etc has been in trouble a lot this week. When this happened before my ds was blamed but now they are in different classes and don't play together much at school so she can't blame him any more. She is going to have to accept that he is a normal little boy, just like all the others, and can't be perfect all of the time Hmm

I have been out to a sale with a friend so I am going to relax and have a Brew and then do some beading. Grin

Afternoon everyone

cats if you have an inner bully you Defo need to kick her to the kirb, would you like me to have a wordGrin, I'll tell her to stop picking on Cats because she's doing as much as she can, and doing it well. Besides, when was the last time she cleaned the house, hmm? Exactly, she never has, it's Cats that actually gets things done.

I got a flat on the way home last night, hit the remains of something on the motorway but luckily the tyre didn't blow out. OH is kindly trying to get it sorted, the tyre seems to be wrecked and the spare is a space saver, we have a spare full size one though.

Carrots

Hope DS calmed down enough to go to school.

Gotta go, coffee's calling me

carrotsandcelery · 31/05/2012 13:48

Adora I say we should form a gang and give Cats bully a run for her money Grin

Having a bit of a pear-shaped day here. I sat down and planned it and things are already all over the place! Not much time so just popping in to say hello.

AdoraBell · 31/05/2012 15:06

Hello arti

My day's not panning out as I planned either, dogs are inside as the gardener is here with the gate open, so I feel there's no point vacuuming yet. I'll boot them out and get started as soon as I can close the gate. One of them is an expert hunter and runs off if she gets half a chance. I can't go anywhere until I have another tyre, so other than walking said dogs I'm stuck here.

carrots. Yes, let's show that bully that Cats is the boss

carrotsandcelery · 31/05/2012 15:41

What sort of dogs do you have Arti? We have an old collie springer cross who is 15 and a young collie and something else unknown cross who is 3. They both cast incredible amounts of hair all over the house, the older girl especially.

Hello. My day off isn't going to plan either. DH didn't feel weel this morning (all wobbly) so I had to get DDs up, get them ready for nursery & take them (bear in mind I was out last night & got into bed at midnight) I then had to take DH to the dr (he might have some fluid in his ear), then to work as he was feeling a bit better, but didn't want to walk or drive. I then slept until 1pm. Oh, and I have to keep rushing to the loo Blush.

I am gutted, it's my last day off before I go back to work 3 days a week & I had planned to do loads, and all I have done is sleep & sit on the loo!!

scout hope your poor veins have recovered a bit.
camper have you done level 2 yet?
bullyCats Stop it & be nice!
carrots glad you got your side of the story in first
zoo where are you???

I have my own list of stuff to try to do each day. A lot of it is based on what fly lady has suggested, but you've got to tailor it to suit you.

I'd better drag myself out of bed & go have something to eat before I go pick the DDs up

CatsSleepAnywhere · 31/05/2012 16:36

HERE is the new thread for to do lists for June. Smile

carrotsandcelery · 31/05/2012 16:41

bessie I think that is it. I needed flylady to get this far and I will need her again when I go for the next level but I need to bumble along at this level for a while and make it total habit. I do have a list that I can't tolerate not doing and I didn't have that before I began this so it is working.

Scout19075 · 31/05/2012 17:30

For all those crafty folks, I need an opinion.

I'm making a poster-sized pictorial family tree for Toddler. I'm making the poster look like a tree and making apples for each family member. I'm putting pictures on each apple with their relationship to him (cousin, aunt, etc) name, birthday (and death day where applicable which, sadly, is applicable even among each generation I'm going back, including his own). What I can't decide is if I should do something to represent generation/ relationships. Such as Yellow "Stems" for his cousins, Red ones for his aunts & uncles, etc. Or just leave it so all of the apples are the same.

What do you ladies think?

carrotsandcelery · 31/05/2012 18:07

How long do you hope for this to last him Scout?

Or can you make it so that things can be added later?

My ddad has done what he calls the dcs "pedigrees" going back as far as he can find out. When they were very young they found it quite difficult to follow but as they get older they understand it more.

When family lives far away it is a great idea. It makes his relationship with them clear and means they are in conversation much more.

I would be tempted just to put the pictures just now ie these are the people who are in your family, and then add the relationships later, when he starts to ask about that.

Lots of code and lines etc could be off putting while he is so young.

Just popped in to say "Carrots I think it is Adora who has the dogs, not me! Although it could explain the amount my flat needs cleaning"
