Hi all, my living room and dining room floors look trashed. The DC --mainly DD have been scattering toys, books, dvd's etc all over the place. I have given up all hope of having a tidy house--

carrotsandcelery · 30/05/2012 19:05

My motivation is flagging too Cats. I am doing the most basic of routines and then having a burst of enthusiasm for a big job like the garage but finding the repetitive nature of it all really tedious. I wouldn't mind having to do housework every day but I do the exact same things every day, or so it feels. Bored, bored, bored!

CatsSleepAnywhere · 30/05/2012 19:19

I completely know what you mean carrots I was saying the exact same thing to my counsellor. She just suggests breaking things down into really small steps and rewarding yourself in between. Housework gets totally boring though and there's not much you can do to escape it.

CatsSleepAnywhere · 30/05/2012 19:22

--I dream of winning the lottery one day and hiring a cleaner-- Wink

carrotsandcelery · 30/05/2012 19:25

I normally just get my head down and get on with it (noone else is going to do it) but this week I find I just can't. I have been a bit weird in many ways this week mind you. Hmm

It has gone from 28C to 8C here. Brrrrr! Somewhere in between would be fine.

I have just --lost it sent DS up to his room (early) to get ready for bed cause he has been winding me up-- messing about far too much for my liking today! He keeps throwing things and kicking toys as if they are footballs.

Our weather cooled down a bit today but not enough to need a coat.

CatsSleepAnywhere · 30/05/2012 19:44

I am sick of his attitude and back chat! Angry GRRR!!

CatsSleepAnywhere · 30/05/2012 19:47

How did things go today carrots with your DS?

CatsSleepAnywhere · 30/05/2012 20:02

I'm off to watch some telly soon so "see" y'all tomorrow.

Scout19075 · 30/05/2012 21:12

My body is battered and bruised. I'm so tired. This is the first time I've "relaxed" all day. I'm going to gorge on eat my dinner and read through the thread.

carrotsandcelery · 30/05/2012 21:12

Hi Cats. I fell asleep in bed with dd while she read me her school reading book Blush

I sent a note into school this morning about what had happened yesterday, apologising for the childish nature of it all. I had no choice in the end because ds was doing the classic, "I have a sore tummy..." trick, which is what he did last time this brewed. I explained how he was feeling and what had happened.

His teacher has passed the letter on and has noted that he was not himself at all today, but hasn't detailed in what way.

At least I feel I have told my side of the story if it does all kick off again.

I have no idea why I am so groggy and sleepy. It is very frustrating.

Hi Scout. Sorry, we cross posted. I am glad that stage is over for you. Poor you. Why are you battered and bruised Shock What did they do to you?

They couldn't get my veins to work, which is very unusual for me. I have holes upon holes. The nurse and then another nurse then the first nurse with another nurse/tech/someone had a go. After 20 minutes the first time they said they'd start the scan then pull me out and try again (giving the water I guzzled a chance to puff up my veins). It didn't work and it took another 20 minutes (approx) with me strapped up on the tray, unable to move much to finally get a vein. My arm has finally stopped buzzing and I couldn't properly grip the gear stick and steering wheel on the way to get Toddler and then from Toddler to Seniors. I left the bandages on until we got home because my hand kept bleeding and I have to watch how and where I bleed. My wrist hurts, the veins in my hand are swollen up and I can feel my pulse part way up my arm, in the vein that they finally got the canular in.

carrotsandcelery · 30/05/2012 21:32

Oh no Scout Shock Sad [ouch emoticon]

Has it stopped bleeding now?

OP posts:
carrotsandcelery · 30/05/2012 21:33

I use arnica cream after they take blood from me as I tend to bruise right up my arm. Are you allowed to use something like that near the wound?

OP posts:
Scout19075 · 30/05/2012 21:38

Yes, it stopped bleeding around the time I collected Toddler. It didn't really bleed in the hospital and I walked back to the car with my arm up. But the driving/gripping did it in.

I'm not sure if I can put anything near the holes (I have holes in both arms but in the end they focused on one) but I am going to take some pain relievers when I finish dinner/before bed.

CamperWidow · 30/05/2012 21:38

Oh Scout! Bless you!! I know what its like when they can't get a vein. :(

Carrots Glad you got in there first mate.

Cats Lol is just discovering she can say no to me and trying to stand her ground. However, as I told her, I hadn't put suncream on her butt so she wasn't going to run around naked out front, esp as we are right on a (practically private) road Wink.

Scout19075 · 30/05/2012 21:41

I have to say, though, that the two people who kept trying were lovely and kept apologizing and then thanking me for being so calm/patient/understanding.

carrotsandcelery · 30/05/2012 21:47

I think the nurses and doctors take a real pride in doing a clean and painless job so they are embarrassed if they make it more stressful than it needs to be.

They often have trouble getting a vein with me and sometimes have to use the tiny little tubes they use for babies. If it happens again you could suggest it. It take longer for the blood to run through it but it is better than being butchered.

When I had dd I haemorraged (sp????) and they couldn't get a vein then to put the drip in. I ended up with both arms taped to wide wooden splints and tubes everywhere, lying in an ambulance with my arms wide like I was nailed to a cross. It gave the ambulance people a great laugh.

Scout19075 · 30/05/2012 21:50

Unfortunately they weren't trying to take blood -- I kept bleeding for them. They needed to put the tube in my arm to give me dye during the scan.

I'm probably glowing.

carrotsandcelery · 30/05/2012 21:56

Oh I see Scout. Sorry Blush Oooooh! Turn the lights out and see if you glow in the dark Grin

OP posts:
carrotsandcelery · 30/05/2012 21:57

How does the dye... cough... exit the body?

A friend had this a few years back and I got a terrible shock when I was in the cubicle beside her when she went for a wee at work the next day Grin

OP posts:
Scout19075 · 30/05/2012 22:02

You know, I forgot to ask how it'll leave. I'll keep an eye on my wee for a while to see. Wink

I'm not going to shine my sink tonight. I just got up to put my plate on the counter and my wrist was pounding when I lowered it so I fear for any dishes if I did try to wash up.

carrotsandcelery · 30/05/2012 22:05

I think you are allowed a night off

I am not doing mine either because I am suffering a severe case of CBA. Grin

Scout19075 · 30/05/2012 22:08

But seeing as I had washed up earlier in the day there's only Toddler's cereal bowl & spoon (he wanted a top up before bed) and my dinner stuff (pan, wooden spoon, plate & glass).

Today was the first time Toddler stayed with a non-family member for an extended time. I got a glowing report about him. Grin (This is, of course, assuming that my friend wasn't just being nice and that he really was well behaved and didn't wail as soon as I walked out the door.)
