Come inside for a Brew and a Biscuit and maybe even a Wine if the mood takes you.

A thread for chatter and nonsense Grin

Cats a good age for showing off "war wounds" at school!

Scout19075 · 08/05/2012 22:17

Went to Tesco for milk. Came home and said to MrScout "is that your computer clicking?" He muted the tv, said "what clicking" and we heard a crash. Toddler was on the landing, playing in the dark with his windmill (the "clicking" I heard). So MrScout's gone to change his nappy, give a cuddle and put him back to bed.

Fingers crossed.

I am more likely to find a deer in my back garden than a fox. There are loads of foxes around though, they just rarely have to come near our houses as there are rabbits a plenty. My dparents back onto a wood and regularly wake up with a deer in their rockery Grin

We have loads of birds including a Great Tit that sounds very like my alarm clock at 6.00am ( not my usual rising time I hasten to add) and an escaped Harris Hawk with a jess still attached that has not been recaptured despite sterling efforts!

The only four legged creature I know of is the tiny yapping rat dog in the flat downstairs that the owners let out late at night because they know they aren't supposed to have a dog in the flat and don't clear up after! Angry

Oh actually that isn't true - there's Smudge -a very laid back tabby cat and Doodles ( another "illegal" dog) that appears very infrequently!

We had a deer in the church car park though!

educatingarti · 08/05/2012 22:27

My mum has badgers and hates them with a vengeance as they plough up the lawn looking for beetles and grubs!

educatingarti · 08/05/2012 22:31

Right -off to check on rhubarb (it had better be ready) and go to bed!

carrotsandcelery · 08/05/2012 22:34

Badgers love pjb sandwiches cut up into tiny little squares. Apparently pb is good for them Hmm

Scout19075 · 08/05/2012 22:41

I went camping once in a place that was full of badgers. I was doing my camping test. I had never seen a badger up close and the thought of them invading my camp scared me. Never did see one.

CatsSleepAnywhere · 09/05/2012 06:22

Morning all, I didn't sleep very well last night and DD kept whinging. We were up at 5. am.

Please can someone else do the link today.

I am undecided about whether DS should go to school today. I might keep them both home.

Scout19075 · 09/05/2012 07:25

I was doing my final Ta Dah list last night when we heard a thump-wail -- Toddler had fallen out of bed and was sitting on the floor, tangled in his duvet, not sure what was going on.

Cats, how's DS today?

liveinazoo · 09/05/2012 08:29

if you can manage to get them both in cats you will feel better as gives day structure and you get a breakSmile

mine are already driving me nuts.glad its a school day and i get 2hors peace then 4 more with just lil zoo under foot

carrotsandcelery · 09/05/2012 08:31

Cats how is ds today? Remember if you keep them home and they are not unwell they will be looking to be entertained Wink

Scout was he ok? Did he settle back down ok?

Ds is screaming his head off about changing into a clean school shirt and washing his face. I am not feeling great - not awful, just not great - and am struggling to face jollying him along into clean clothes and a clean face.

I have been awake since 5 as well but stayed in bed for fear of waking ds when he is supposed to stay in his bed. I was reading at 6.30 when he came in to see me so he snuggled in and fell asleep in my arms. It was lovely.

carrotsandcelery · 09/05/2012 08:32

zoo is right Cats. If you can brace yourself and do the school run then you get a bit of a breather and the day is broken up and therefore not as long.

OP posts:
carrotsandcelery · 09/05/2012 08:42

Save me!

Ds is freaking out about the collar on his clean shirt. We haven't even got to the school sweatshirt yet. He may not be wearing one today.

HELP!

Morning all! Can I join in? My house is a sodding tip! I need to do so much today and I have no bloody hot water until tonight.

revolutionconfirmed · 09/05/2012 09:09

I need to mop the hall, sweep and mop the kitchen, tidy the living room, mop the living room, put the kids washing away, put another load of washing in, put the dishwasher on, wipe down appliances, worktops and cabinets and put dinner on all around looking after the children by myself, getting them ready for nursery, volunteering at the nursery and picking up after a non housetrained puppy.

I salute single parents!

CatsSleepAnywhere · 09/05/2012 09:35

I have only just turned MN back on so only just seen all your earlier posts.
I have kept them both home because if I had sent DS to school I would have been worrying all day about whether he was alright. I just couldn't face getting DD ready after my restless night as it is usually a battle to get her ready and I am too tired!

I think he seems to be o.k. he hasn't been sick but says he has had a headache.

Hello revolution. Smile

CatsSleepAnywhere · 09/05/2012 09:39

DS is laying on the sofa watching telly and DD has a dvd on the other telly. So far all is going well.

I am just going to do the bare essentials (washing up) today. Will have to see if I get round to anything else.

liveinazoo · 09/05/2012 09:53

revolutionconfirmed · 09/05/2012 11:01

Hope you all are ok. It sounds like you three are having a day of it :(

DD2 is down for a nap, DD1 is drawing and I've managed to sweep, mop and clean the kitchen (except for glasses and a casserole dish). I have to sort out my hair, make up and an outfit for nursery at 12:30 now.

educatingarti · 09/05/2012 11:26

Morning all.

I overslept! Blush Confused

My head still feels like it is asleep.

I need to get on with work.

I probably needed the extra sleep though as third night of tossing and turning and weird dreams where everyone was criticising me and having a go

Carrots, Cats and Zoo:
Sorry to hear about your difficult starts this morning.

Hi revolution. I hope you have a productive day!

carrotsandcelery · 09/05/2012 11:40

Hi revolution.

zoo sorry to hear about your rotten evening.

Do you think dd2 is having a growth spurt? I know it doesn't change the behaviour but sometimes understanding it makes it slightly more tolerable.

I managed to summon some calm parenting and pretended to kiss ds's collar better and then told him it needed a hug to relax it. I then rubbed it in my hands to soften it up and he calmed down.

Dd was quite argumentative but when I got to school I met other mums from her year group moaning about how grumpy and shouty they all were so I suspect it is those preteen hormones. Poor kids. I wouldn't be that age again if you paid me.

I took my stuff to head straight to the other village to buy fruit and veg and to buy velcro for ds's blind so we can finally stick it to the window frame and keep his room dark in the morning. I seem to have bought some beads while I was in the shop though Grin

I have been doing housework since I got back. The place is still a tip but at least there is no longer a visible layer of dog hair on the floor and floating around in tumbleweeds so I feel a little better.

Taking a rest now as there is definitely a cold/throat bug working on me.

bessie26 · 09/05/2012 12:09

Argh! I was just about to go clothes shopping when nursery rang to say DD2 had some spots (they have had chicken pox there) & was a bit sad. They phoned 15mins later to say she had more spots & was very lethargic & unhappy. I went in to get her & she was napping, so I went back home, made her a drs appt & went back to get her. We have now been waiting to be seen at the drs for 30mins [bored] She seems fine to me, so am hoping I can get her back to nursery & go buy some sodding clothes this arvo!

carrotsandcelery · 09/05/2012 12:15

What a pest bessie. I hope it is nothing serious.
