maybe lad carrots is having a growth spurt
was it hiis first day back at school today?

mine will be irritable and ravenous tomorrow-they have gotten used to drip fed snacks and find first few days without them hard and makes them super grumpy and hungry!

liveinazoo · 16/04/2012 19:39

thatl be 2 of us cats-

when mine were that age the less sleep they had the less they seemed to get and were more difficult for it

i get like it too onetimes if ive been up them a few nights im exhausted but kind of past tired and cant sleepHmm

Scout19075 · 16/04/2012 19:44

liveinazoo · 16/04/2012 19:55

they should really be asleep now but i can hear themreeking havoc upstairs

sad thing is they will probably still be waking me up in the morning!

i may try and clear up enough let kits in front room as well as kitchen tomorrow

they are being really good with the litter tray and are getting into mischief confinded to kitchen only
i went out in the kitchen earlier and scout wa on the window sillwith the end of his tail in the kettle spoutConfused..made me smile thoughGrin

its virtually impossible to do anything out there-they weave around me meowing, every door/cupboard i open they jump in.up on te surfaces if try do anything, there are sooo nosey!

cant get cross though, they have been in confinement so long of a netted shed it must be all very exciting!

CatsSleepAnywhere · 16/04/2012 19:58

I am going to wander off now and watch some telly.

Will catch up with y'all tomorrow.

Scout19075 · 16/04/2012 20:04

Scout is an awesome name for a cat! Grin

I once adopted a cat from a shelter called Rover (as in the popular dog's name). I felt stupid.

Toddler's asleep. YAY! Poor little thing.

Iron's warming up.

liveinazoo · 16/04/2012 20:04

I can never enter into the whole bf/ff debate. DD1 was ebf till weaning at 6 months then self-weaned off me around 9/10 months. Muddles, I am convinced would have got into some serious trouble had I not started to ff her. She was only 6 lb 10 and had poor weight gain. Didn't think much of it as Lollipop is a dot too. After Christmas we ended up taking her to A&E as she was screaming so much she stopped breathing. They weighed her for the first time in 6 weeks and she'd only put on 0.05kg. In 6 weeks. Despite feeding like a beast and being constantly attached. Consultant said 'oh, that's not much, I'll refer you to a dietician'. She'd dropped from the 9th centile to below the 2nd.Shock I said what about formula and was told not to bother as she was feeding. I went and got some anyway and she guzzeled away like mad. She put on enough weight to get back onto the 9th in 2 weeks. It took 6 weeks for a referal to come through. What if I'd carried on bf her all that time? It's clear she just wasn't getting what she needed and formula did the trick. I could have inflicted serious long-term damage if I'd followed that stupid consultants advice. As it is, she had 4 months of me and is now merrily weaning on a family diet of spag bol and beef stew! Grin

Sorry, that was a bit of a rant! unresolved issue there, methinks Wink

Camper, to me that's a mum doing what's best for her babies and no way would I judge that.

Having an ironing pause -- I've done four work shirts and have four more to do. MrScout is 6'5" so his shirts are long/big and it takes a lot of effort to do one.

I want to watch some of my American DVDs but the DVD player doesn't appear to be hooked up properly. I can't reach around the tv (short arse) so have to wait for MrScout to get home to do it.

He's not coming home tomorrow night (staying at his parents') so I really want the DVD player sorted so I can catch up on some of my shows.

carrotsandcelery · 16/04/2012 20:59

Poor Ts! I really hope he manages to get a good night's sleep.

I have discovered a flaw in my bulk buying dog food plan. I am a pretty determined and strong kinda gal but I can't lift huge bags of dog food (kibble) into the house. Blush Fortunately dd and I between us managed it. Thank goodness she was here.

carrotsandcelery · 16/04/2012 21:06

I am a bit Envy here - what about a cat named after me? eh? huh?

Scout19075 · 16/04/2012 21:07

Hi carrots. What's on the telly for you tonight?

carrotsandcelery · 16/04/2012 21:09

My dog food post was written ages ago but I got distracted. I have just caught up on the thread.

Camper that is almost exactly what happened to a very good friend of mine. BF just didn't work first time around. She tried again second time and thought it was going great and then when her dd was weighed she had lost weight. She had to FF both of them, despite being keen to BF. You have to take the road you find yourself on sometimes.

Dh is home but "working" (ie avoiding a "chat" about his reward bonus)

carrotsandcelery · 16/04/2012 21:10

Hi Scout. I haven't got the tv on yet as dh is avoiding me working. Hmm

carrotsandcelery · 16/04/2012 21:10

What have you found that is worth a look?

carrotsandcelery · 16/04/2012 21:11

Dh is now accussing me of being in lust with Scarlet Johansen (sp?) which I am which is none of his business!

Scout19075 · 16/04/2012 21:12

I'm watching NCIS. Would rather be catching up on my Big Love DVDs. Oh well. Making MrScout's dinner and hope to go out for a few minutes when he gets in.

carrotsandcelery · 16/04/2012 21:33

The tv is now on - a programme about the 70's. Radio Scotland had a feature on the programme today. I am not enthralled.

Scout19075 · 16/04/2012 21:36

I think MrScout has that recording. He emailed me 5 minutes ago to tell me he was at the big Tesco town (about 40 minutes from here). Keep in mind he didn't tell me until he was leaving, so I couldn't ask him to get the milk, etc. Also keep in mind he told me 8:30 then 9:30 so I prepared his dinner for 9:30. ARGH!

bessie26 · 16/04/2012 21:37

my cat is called bessie!
