on the issue of pasta and sauces dd2 not fab with sauces but has eaten it with hummus on as the colour allows it to go less detectedwe all big veg and grated cheese fans in the zoo house

chickpeas are lovely addition to tomato based sauces for a lovely creaminess

I woke up NATURALLY!!!

I am in deep shock.

It was luuuvvveeeerrrrrlllllyyyyy!

I am not meaning to brag - hopefully this offers hope to those who don't yet enjoy this luxury - and those who have suffered my rants will know what we have been through to get here.

Yay! Yay! Yay!

zoo I am so fed up with posts being munched this week that I am going to copy them before I post just in case!!

OP posts:
carrotsandcelery · 10/03/2012 09:28

Also thanks Thanks for the recipe zoo - it sounds delicious.

Jamie Oliver adds marmite and mustard to his mince in meals and we now do it to quorn or lentil mix in that sort of form and it does add an extra something. He also adds Worcestershire sauce but I don't think it is veggie so we don't have that.

Love the flybaby class idea. Dd is still on her sleepover and has been working away at her room all week (although it is still a tip) but ds and I could have a go at this. His room isn't too bad so it wouldn't be too daunting for him.

carrotsandcelery · 10/03/2012 09:32

How are the dishes going BC? Little and often might well be the way forward. Would ds manage to do some at the weekend for his pocket money? (or would that just give you more to do in the long run?)

I've been fairly productive for a Saturday morning (including getting dinner into the slow cooker!). I'm off to get dressed then get Toddler sorted and we're going to walk to town to the Tesco recycling. He likes the automatedness of it so will let him put the things in. Then we'll meet MrScout for a drink.

MrScout has decided not to go into the YOUT office but still needs to do several hours worth of work (hence the walk to the other side of town, not driving, to give MrScout some time alone). It doesn't look like we're going to get to have a nice family day today. Sad

liveinazoo · 10/03/2012 10:24

flybaby class dismissed

today with 15min timer they have scuttled putting stray toys away and laundry that never made into bins and checking nothings under beds that shouldnt be

beds made and furniture polished

then we checked all drawers were tidy and i wiped window frames and washed floors

helped dd2 start cleaning her playmobil fairytale castle...its got loads nooks and crannys but cant think of a way to store it that allows it to be covered in some way as its soo big.bin picking at it with cotton buds and cocktail sticks tryin to get some of the dust out

i also cleaned the baseboards

so productive hour..this was followed by snack of rice krispie squares allround and i have now been requested to go to colouring pages again and print some off againSmile

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 10/03/2012 10:27

carrotsandcelery · 10/03/2012 10:38

Oooh! Thanks MLISC I will have a look. I have never had it before (for obvious reasons) so I am intrigued.

It is going mental here. We have had several phone calls and have had a visitor and we are all still in our pjs Blush It was a good friend though so she just laughed at me Grin

Wm is on though and dw is loaded. I am just having my breakfast finally!

I suppose everyone is used to us being up at the crack of dawn and just assumes we have been up for hours and hours. Smile

Well done to the zoo family on the bedroom cleaning. I would love to get into a routine like that.

Dd's room is really small, has poor storage and she has too much stuff so it looks messy very, very easily.

Ds's room is equally small and he has an equal amount of too much stuff but has a whole wall of fitted wardrobes so we can store stuff in plastic boxes and stack them in there and keep the place tidy.

I think dd and I will have to have another declutter (she has been trying) and she will have to box some of her younger toys and pack them up in the loft. Sad She would love a clean and peaceful room though so it would be worth it.

carrotsandcelery · 10/03/2012 10:46

I have a problem.

Dd is having her friend for tea tonight. We are obviously veggies and she doesn't eat vegetables. Last time I got round it by serving pizza Grin They had tea at her house last night and had pizza Grin so I don't feel I can serve pizza again. What on earth can I make that won't freak her out?

My mind has gone blank [not unusual experience emoticon]

I have washed up x 1 and showered and dressed. DH and DD are taking toys upstairs Shock so the living room is starting to look more like a living room. Grin

I am impressed by your Flybabies Zoo.

Next I need to sort some washing to go in the machine and have a Brew

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 10/03/2012 11:04

Pasta bake and garlic bread?
Does she eat qourn? The quorn fillets and nuggets are quite good (imho)
A cheesey/tomato risotto?

liveinazoo · 10/03/2012 11:16

pasta baked with lots cheese and few bits vegetables?
chips and dips?
jacket potatoes and cheese?

am now out of printer paper and have my eyes firmly fixed on cloudy with a chance of meatballs pic-raining burgers on themGrin

and dino playing a celloSmile

pity kids asked for their individual pictures to be stapled together so if i want to do it will have do with them

we have WM on now-school uniforms nearly dry so i shall iron them later

ds has a set plastic draw storage with dinosaurs on the front each draw...really helps inspire him to keep all playmobile dino bits out fom under my feet when i go in to tuck in goodnight!

liveinazoo · 10/03/2012 11:20

BlackCatTryingToFly · 10/03/2012 11:29

It feels like he is turning into a teenager, everything I suggest he doesn't want to do, has his sulky head on! Sad

liveinazoo · 10/03/2012 11:32

carrots we arent blessed with big rooms either.junior beds have saved us some space and lots of the toys live in what was the airing cupboard prior to our heating being upgraded and undr the stairs is full shelves and boxes

it is very hard persuading them to part with stuff, almost painfulSad
they arent of an age where possessions are dispensable and memories and people are most valuable..mine are terrible hoarders and im afraid im just as bad with their things

its only recently ive outed the board books and dd3 is 4Shock
done get me started on the jigsaw puzzles and board game collection
i think we shall have to justify their position by declaring board game night at least once a week and regularly doing puzzles together

i really should cull the dvd collection of super scratched /dont work dvds and get rid spot and in the night garden at least!Grin
