carrotsandcelery · 28/02/2012 21:05

Starting from March 1st lets babystep our way through the month, throwing in the odd mission.

Sign up here if you want to join in.

We have pointy sticks -> to get you off the sofa and chocolate and stickers as rewards.

Let's end our CHAOS and enjoy our sparkly homes.

BC you ate drinking an awful lot of coffee these days, I hope some of it is decaff?

DD2 is fine, I'm not sure she was actually sick as such last night, there was just a wet bit on the bed which had soaked through into her sleeping bag & PJs. She is fine this morning & went back down at 845 for a nap, so we are all going to go out to our local children's centre to play this morning. I'm knackered, but DH let it slip to DD1 that we were going out to play, so we have to go. It will (hopefully) be good for getting DD1 more confident in new situations & give DD2 some new toys to play with Grin

I am soooo glad I had packed bags & laid out clothes for this morning!!

Ta da

  • Washed & dressed.

bessie I would prefer for it to be Wine Grin but I had best keep that for Friday or Saturday nights.

tried to come in as soon as id got back and was offline

had breakfast

im finding the state of the kitchen really overwhelming today
-i cant see a single surface
-i have "treasures"w ashing up to do and decide where to keep them
-regular washing up
-cake mix and icing on surfaces, dripped on WM and floor

i know i need to get in there but its making me feel so stressed seeing it in such a pickle..think it reminds me too much of when im very poorly with depression and chaos reignsSad

someone help me rationalize and organize myself before i curl up and go back to sleep

liveinazoo · 09/03/2012 10:30

lurked round tha boards.had a look at kitchen.burst into tears
im not having a good daySad

CamperWidow · 09/03/2012 10:33

zoo just do it in babysteps! Set your timer and do 15 mins, come away and do something else, then another 15 mins. Don't get bogged down! Just keep remembering that look on her face!!! Grin It's def not worth getting upset over!

i have managed to wash, dry and put away 2 large bowls washing up and scrub the 1st of 3 surfaces

i have founs another box full of biscuit cutters and kids baking equipment that is for this afternoons attack

dds is going to be sooo excited as we have long spoken of doing lots cooking together many times but i havent followed through regularly due to not having the gumption to sort the kitchen and all the kids baking things ive got stashed away

so far we have jelly moulds, lots kid size cutlerya little plastic jug for pouring own drinks, crisp maker set and easter biscuit cutters along with sandwich cutters in a variety of shapes and various other bits and bobs

on the cutter front ive found numbers, letters, jungle animals, shoes, crown i could go on but im welling up again thinking their little faces

im now going to pop on a swift soup and have a few minutes with little zoo then have lunch

hopefully be back for 1 oclock< if anyones interested>

CamperWidow · 09/03/2012 12:50

zoo that's one of the reasons I don't mind DH forking out for that Dora cooking thing, lot's of inspiration and no excuse!!! DD1 even has her own shelf in a cupboard just for her cooking stuff so she can help herself when she wants to play too!
And well done for getting on with it! I love Fridays as DD1 is at Nursery so it's just me and a 5 month old. She still has good sleeps and I can get things done and MN.
Is anyone still linking the babysteps or have I skimmed them?

bessie26 · 09/03/2012 12:51

I can tell I am tired, I'm struggling to read the stupid little font on this phone. We all had a lovely time out playing this morning. Now eating soup & PBJ toasty sandwiches. I will tidy up as much as I can, but I am going to bed as soon as they nap. Hope the rest of you get chance to sleep too!

MyLifeIsStillChaotic · 09/03/2012 12:55

carrotsandcelery · 09/03/2012 14:31

Hi everyone! I got too frustrated with mumsnet earlier to repost.

Chaotic - the thread is moving quite fast just now. Why don't you come in and tell us what you have done without reading all our threads? It is motivating to be able to write little ta da lists.

Alternatively why don't you start a thread just for you and post what you have done and we can offer encouragement without talking about all our own stuff. It would probably help to motivate you without being put off by our lists. We all have different situations and schedules to keep aside from the housework.

I can see how it would be overwhelming if you are new to us and this. I started with bessie in Jan 2011 so have given myself time to get into it.

I have been out with a friend for the morning.

I did my basics before I left apart from the hoovering and I have hung a load of washing since I got in.

It was a good day to be busy as we had a frustrating time with ds this morning and I was saying very bad words indeed about our psychologist Blush and feel bad about it as she is really lovely and really does appreciate how hard it is. I went of on such a tirade I made dh laugh, which made me laugh and diffused it all thank goodness. (I also did it in the privacy of our bedroom so the dcs weren't subject to my colourful language Blush). I don't say bad words much so when I do it always gives dh a bit of a surprise. Grin

She warned us yesterday that ds is very clever at manipulating things to get what he thinks is the best thing for him. That is exactly what he was doing this morning but he didn't get away with it. I had to shut the door to the room he was in and tell him I would speak to him when he had stopped whinging.
