I felt like a Wine or two earlier but thought I better wait till Friday night a least!

I decided it was best to go shopping on my own so DH looked after the DC while I went. He is quite good like that Smile.

I'm going to have a Brew hot chocolate --hardly compares to alcohol--

Scout19075 · 08/03/2012 19:45

Thanks all! Have made a RL cocktail, eating crisps and am taking a break from the washing up and clearing up of toys. MrScout isn't due for at least another 3 hours.

zoo, I think you need a Wine or Chocolate as well.

bessie, oh yes, I got him down 30-45 minutes early. Neither of one of us could have lasted much longer. I just checked on him 15 minutes ago and he was asleep in more-or-less the same position I left him in. I don't know why he didn't sleep earlier, he just couldn't or wouldn't. He was soooo tired, too.

carrots, will you have another appointment when the school gets their forms in?

BC, please, have a virtual Wine with me.

BlackCatTryingToFly · 08/03/2012 19:48

Wine Wine cheers!

Scout19075 · 08/03/2012 20:39

OMG, my living room! I can see parts of it I thought were lost.... Shock

carrotsandcelery · 08/03/2012 20:51

Oh Scout - if it is any consolation the overtired toddler is the worst stage for the next 8 years or so at least. Dd is nearly 11 and tired toddler is still the trickiest stage so far! I may change my mind after the teenage years but at least I have had a rest from it! Wink I am glad he is settled now and that you are getting a rest too.

We will have another appointment in about 2 weeks to discuss the questionnaires. We see them roughly every 2 weeks. I am not too stressed about it as the diagnosis doesn't change his behaviour in any way. He stays the same ds. It only means they are better able to help him.

Yay! For visible parts of your living room too.

We have had a late night as we had a visitor. I am going to start feeding ds earlier even if dd is not home as he needs a more regular routine than her schedule allows.

It is quite tricky to meet the needs of two children who are different ages and so different in personality.

I still have a wash to hang and a few more things to put in the dw but I am pleased with the amount I have achieved today considering how long we were at the hospital for.

Please send out positive vibes for ds trying out his new morning routine tomorrow. He has it blutaked to his bedroom wall, right beside the bed, so he can see it in the morning. FX!

Fingers crossed, carrots. Did I miss -- how did he do with his presentation?

Having a 10 minutes pause then going to go finish washing up and put out the dishes for MrScout.

carrotsandcelery · 08/03/2012 21:03

Thanks Scout - he did really well with his presentation and was really pleased with himself. He has been much more manageable since he did it so it may have contributed to the overtired and challenging behaviour I suffered earlier in the week.

OP posts:
Scout19075 · 08/03/2012 21:28

YAY for a presentation well done!

carrotsandcelery · 08/03/2012 21:32

Forgot to say, Long please do invite Jensai (sp?) She sounds like she would fit in well with us Grin

zoo I spend between £80 and £100 on the shop most weeks and then have a really cheap week or two when I use up any over bought items.

Meal planning reduces the costs massively.

Dd has school dinners though (£1.85 a day) so that has to be added to the food budget as well.

I could reduce the costs a lot if ds didn't have to have so many snacks as these cost me a small fortune.

Put WM on
Washed up
Loaded DW
Cleared kitchen
Drank hot choc
Tested out new lunch for sat
Prepped tomorrow's lunch
Washed up & cleared up again
Dried up/put away
Shined sink & cleaned oven hob
Thought about having Wine &/or choc &/or bath - instantly DD2 woke up screaming the house down. I am assuming teeth & ended up giving her Calpol & that seems to have done the trick as she is now asleep on my lap, just need to work up the courage to put her back in bed.

carrots Could you do some meals in the slow cooker that people can just help themselves to when they come in?

Right, am going to try to get her in bed, put washing in TD & have a really quick shower.

Scout19075 · 08/03/2012 22:11

My head wants to keep doing more but my body has given up. 5 a.m. starts and waiting up for very late husbands are cr@p.

More Wine anyone?

carrotsandcelery · 08/03/2012 22:24

Good list bessie. Well done!

I have hung the washing and dh has finished loading the dw (I did most of it earlier) and put it on.

Scout waiting up is rubbish. Do you have to? The psychologist gently made dh aware of the impact of his heavy work schedule on the rest of the family. He knew(ish) already and tries hard to be around but obviously has to do his job. He spent a lot of time with ds this afternoon as they were both at home and ds loved it. I totally feel your frustration/boredom/loneliness etc. I will clink my Brew with your Wine Grin

Ds has already got up and "spoiled" his night's sleep. Gah! We were doing so well until we went to dmil for the wedding. It seems to have totally knocked everything.

I am off to bed as it could be a loooooong night.

Sleep well everyone!

bessie26 · 08/03/2012 23:27

Argh! DD2 has been sick (I think, her sheets were very wet) so total bed & clothes change & is now screaming on my lap. It is going to be a looooong night!

Scout19075 · 08/03/2012 23:38

Oh dear, bessie. Poor LittleBessie2. Sad

bessie26 · 08/03/2012 23:38

scout why are you waiting up? Go to bed!

Scout19075 · 08/03/2012 23:40

I'm waiting for MrScout to finish in the bathroom so I can get in there. I had been chatting online with one of my old school friends who lives GMT-7.

bessie26 · 08/03/2012 23:44

You MUST nap &/or go to bed early tomorrow, you were up sooooo early you need to catch up on your sleep.

BlackCatTryingToFly · 09/03/2012 07:05

We had a rough night with DD crying quite a few times in the night.Hmm I don't know what it was about - could be nightmares or could just be separation anxiety Confused.

Anyway I am now having a large coffee Brew before I get going on the school run.

Hope everyone else got some sleep.

bessie26 · 09/03/2012 07:10

Urgh. I need tea. And sleep.

Scout19075 · 09/03/2012 07:10

How's LittleBessie2 this morning?

bessie26 · 09/03/2012 07:59

Bright & bouncy Zzzzzzzzz

liveinazoo · 09/03/2012 08:10

i woke up at 1am and couldnt settle again til 4...then dd2 got up just after 5Hmmim beginning to wonder if i will ever wake up and feel alert and raring to go againSad

for some ynknown reason dd2 packet cake mix rose well then sank to flat hard biscuits when coldConfused...

im not sure if it was the lack of sleep fuddling my brain but i agreed to make cupcakes with cherry jam baked into the middle

not only do i have a mountain of washing up i now have a tornado of cake mix and icing that has managed to get everywhere
dd2 is,however, beside herself with happiness and has decided to take 3 into school for teacher and TA
she is also constantly looking at me in an adoring fashion.this is also preventing me from being very cross!

i had thought i was about done with the kitchen..it was looking fab but now i have a least a couple of hours to reclaim it to gleaming when all i want is my bed

heyho.have little zoos tlc at 9

BlackCatTryingToFly · 09/03/2012 09:22

Extra sharp pointy sticks Here ----> ------>
if required.

I am going to need gallons of coffee throughout the day I think.
I'm not going to sit here too long cause I know I wont move if I do. Wink

My plan of action is: do shopping list, meal plan ?? go and buy some new clothes with birthday money --bearing in mind I hate shopping-- and maybe visit family.
So might not get on here much but will pop in where possible.

Wishing good luck to all!! Grin

Scout19075 · 09/03/2012 09:35

Morning all. I've been into the caffeine already though don't feel particularly tired yet. Hmm

The plan for today, besides the normal ticking-over stuff like cooking and washing up blurgh is:
soft play with Toddler's big kid friends
call the hospital
AG order (still haven't done it -- hard to time it with Toddler, because it's more than a two minute call, meals, clean up, etc., given the GMT-6)
recycling center (for normal glass but also for some magazines and some wood)
meal plan and grocery list (have until tomorrow already sorted but might need to do the shopping tonight)
bath for Toddler and hairwash for me (before we go out)
sort out birthday present for SiL3 (who's birthday is first but she's the only one we don't have anything for yet)

If the weather holds up we might go to town this afternoon and take another carrier bag of donations. Only if the weather's okay.
