Overly tired Toddler who did not nap AT ALL and who DESPERATE NEEDED ONE. ARGHHH!!!!!

On that, I think we're off to the ducks so I don't lose my sanity. So much for getting more boxed up!

liveinazoo · 08/03/2012 14:55

did a load washing up then found a massive box "treasures" and start work way through cleaning those

BlackCatTryingToFly · 08/03/2012 15:00

I did some washing up and made a start on the shopping list.

Feeling very tired but will have to get ready for school run now.

Catch y'all later.

bessie26 · 08/03/2012 15:52

I did another 15mins in the garden. The brown bin is almost full, so I'll have to wait until next friday to do any more! I do need to get some more plants to fill in the gaps left by DHs "weeding" or the gaps will just be filled with weeds in no time.

I've written our bit of DD1's development plan, and have left ALL the washing up festering in the kitchen.

BlackCatTryingToFly · 08/03/2012 16:03

DD was being a complete --PITA-- Threenager on the school run. She has hurt my arm cause she kept pulling in the opposite dirrection, Then it was "lift me up mummy" she is too heavy to carry now.

so I am feeling Sad.
DS always runs on ahead anyway but he does wait for me to get him across the roads.

liveinazoo · 08/03/2012 16:32

sounds like mine bc-dd3(4) kept running ahead too far.ds growled at her so she would scream and run faster.dd2 kept shout them to shut up as she wanted to talk about her day ...i phased out and just wished id got to the bank before pick up rather than then running round squealing and old dears giving me evils and tutting
also told dd we would make her cake mix, then remembered have a reduced packet of french fancy with todays date on so she weedled me to make them in the morning before school and worn down and not thinking straight i agreed so now im stuck baking with 8yo at silly oclock tomorrow morning so she can take her offerings in her lunchbox

in other news...
the "box of treasures" i referred to is a large box ive been gathering/hoarding things in since last summer when my depression stabilized and i began thinkiing things i wanted for the kids/house
ive unearthed a steamer, sets kid size metal cutlery, fab easter biscuit cutters, xmas cutters, gingerbread family cutters, plastic toast rack with aliens on each end, sandwich cutters of butterflies, hearts and dinosaurs and all manner of other little bits and pieces.
ive washed a whole washing up bowlful and have another to do

liveinazoo · 08/03/2012 16:37

we have just declettered the french fancies

liveinazoo · 08/03/2012 16:38

bessie you left washing up festeringShock..i always thought you were the least slovenly amongst us...welcome to the dark sideGrin

liveinazoo · 08/03/2012 16:43

realised dd2 trailed mud across front room laminate a she wandered through to empty lunch box in kitchen bin

best go clear that up before it gets trod anywhere else then get out the bits and bobs to decorate my beetroot jar vases

liveinazoo · 08/03/2012 16:44

forgot to ask - bc have you organised your menu planner?x

liveinazoo · 08/03/2012 17:27

finished lurking on the boards...
floors disappearing under a sea chibbled bits colored paper but at least they arent fighting

think nows a good time to start sorting dinner-parsnips and spuds are ready to mash so i shall go and get it all sorted in hopew having it on the table for 6 will ease the nighttime nuttiness!

BlackCatTryingToFly · 08/03/2012 17:29

Zoo No I haven't done my menu plan yet --don't know if I will-- We are going to get something quick to eat for tea then going to do the essential shopping. Might do the rest tomorrow when we don't have the DC with us.
Will be glad when it's bedtime!

liveinazoo · 08/03/2012 18:00

im running out of steam too

it doesnt have to be exotic-jacket spuds with beans/cheese
mash with fish fingers/sausages and veg
pizza

its just knowing what you are making rather than that last minute scramble when you are tired and the kids are kicking off and panic sets in as you just want dinner to appear magically so not refereeing world war 3/gazing into an empty cupboard/wanting to go to bed at 6pm!Smile

ours is ready in 5.ds has had be sent to room to calm down as getting too silly jumping on the girls

BlackCatTryingToFly · 08/03/2012 18:12

I like Jacket potato with cheese and beans Smile.

I will try and have a go later on or tomorrow. We need to go out soon but waiting for DD to eat some food first.

Have you done your meal plan?
What have you put on it?
If your too busy now though don't worry.

Scout19075 · 08/03/2012 18:29

OMG, I need a Wine.

liveinazoo · 08/03/2012 18:40

Wine for scout-whats happened honey?

bc done dinners til sunday
tomorrow-lentil shepherds pie and spring greens.rice pudding
saturday-black eye bean and mushroom stew with rice.syrup sponge and custard
sunday-bean and root stew with pesto and cheesy almond scones
lemon bakewell tarts

if your kids like pizza you can make them really easily with english muffins cut in half or pitta bread.
just spread with tomato puree/ketchup or pesto and top with cheese then grill til cheese melts...if you want to add veggies chopped mushrooms/peppers/tomato or sweetcorn from a tin or freezr all work wellSmile

carrotsandcelery · 08/03/2012 18:41

Evening everyone!

Mumsnet just ate a post I had written so this feels like deja vu.

The hospital went ok. We are onto the next stage of encouraging ds to sleep more by encouraging him to stay in his bed in the morning. The psychologist went through our questionnaire but didn't have the school one yet so couldn't make a full assessment. From our one there is clearly an issue but she didn't say what so we are in suspense for now.

Most of the new routine will fall to me so apologies in advance. Blush

carrotsandcelery · 08/03/2012 18:45

I am posting in stages incase mumsnet eats my posts again.

It has been all go since we got back. I took dd to her club with a friend, had a phone call, made tea, fed the dogs, unloaded and reloaded the dw, cleaned the worktops and so on.

We are just waiting for dd to be dropped off now so we can eat.

Overly tired toddlers are wonderful creatures. Hmm

liveinazoo · 08/03/2012 19:03

carrots glad things are moving on for you with ds,no need to apologize we all ranters here especially me Smile

Scout19075 · 08/03/2012 19:13

Grin at zoo. Pretty much!

One toddler + swimming + an hour feeding the ducks & the playground + 45 minutes at the shop for a drink and to buy milk + no nap = Overly Tired Sobbing Toddler

I have bruises from the kicking/struggles out of my arms while trying to change him, get him ready for bed, etc.

liveinazoo · 08/03/2012 19:26

been a trying evening
beans had black ones it it,so didnt eat them case werent safe to eat
little zoo is also overtired and screaming and squawking

opted for tomatoes with dinner stead peppers..mine had soft and mouldy bit on itHmmim now losing it

did make cakes with dd2 in the end.will ice in the morning

am now putting them to bed and then collapsing in a heap

i dont even think the dishes are going to get done.my hands are really sore and dry/cracked

night all

liveinazoo · 08/03/2012 19:29

if only it was acceptable for us to behave like that when we are tiredGrin

could you imagine itShock

bessie26 · 08/03/2012 19:30

"least slovenly" - that's the best compliment I've had in a long while!! Grin

Glad hospital thing went ok carrots.

Recently I have been v.good at keeping on top of the washing up, but getting outside in the garden & doing DD1s form took priority today. I was also hoping DH might do some of it, but he's off out to the pub in a min, so I had better drag my lazy arse downstairs to do it.

Then I need to check I've done all my chores for today & I can wash my hair & maybe have a Wine

Hope TS sleeps well tonight scout

bessie26 · 08/03/2012 19:35

Xpost!

Oh poor TS (& scout) is he asleep now? DD1 used to get like that when she first started pre-school (no naps) Why wouldn't he nap? Teeth?

Must go wash up!
