DH once said I had "useful" thighs. He meant it as a complement, but I could never really take it that way! Grin

I was never any good at school, but won a handicap 5k race in 1993(?) - I was ridiculously proud as I had never won anything before (or since!) GrinGrinGrin

The place we went today for the party was the same sports centre I used to go to for my running club which made me nostalgic. I'm running once a week atm, but must do more.

carrotsandcelery · 18/02/2012 22:53

Grin bessie. I suspect my thighs are very "useful" (although is it strange of me to find that a little bit kinky too??!!??). I never won anything doing athletics so you are doing better than me. Well done!

I don't think I could run to the end of our street now Blush

I am off to bed now as we have yet another silly day tomorrow and extra children to entertain.

Sleep well everyone.

bessie26 · 18/02/2012 23:12

Biscuit on anyone's kinkyness! Grin

What was mrscout's new toy? Glad you had a good day out, I always get really worried about skipping naps, but will be doing that to DD1 tomorrow morning as we are either going to visit the bloddy lambs or maybe some baby goats at the farm we usually visit. FX DH is feeling better in the morning.

Sink shined, cooker clean, DW finished. WM emptied ready to go in TD in morning, shopping list written, Wine bottle finished, night night!

Scout19075 · 19/02/2012 07:58

bessie, MrScout bought some new camera or piece of equipment and some things for the radiators. Goodness knows what. We stayed in the car while he ran into B&Q for the radiator bits.

I worry (a bit) about missed naps, too, but thought for sure TS would nap in the car (since we were going further afield than normal). But no. Then we left said place much later than MrScout and I thought and still needed dinner so stopped locally to where we were for the very child-friendly Pizza Hut (it meant TS could be distracted from squirming with exhaustion with breadsticks while he waited for his dinner). He wanted to color but kept pushing his menu & crayon pot away saying "pizza, pizza" and was clearing making sure there was room for his plate. Despite all of that (no nap, no falling asleep until 8:45-ish and not getting to his own bed until 10) Toddler's been up for an hour. There's no way we're missing nap today or he will be a miserable mess of a toddler come late afternoon.

carrotsandcelery · 19/02/2012 08:20

Good luck with TS today Scout and bessie I hope dh is feeling better.

I am stuck in my pjs as dh is still asleep and the shower will wake him. He was sooooo grumpy yesterday I am leaving him to sleep this am.

We don't have much more snow so I am hoping driving is ok to go and get a second opinion on dd's riding hat. When we can't drive we are really cut off from the world here.

I didn't shine my sink last night and I am regretting it this am. It is much nicer to get up to a tidy sink, especially on a Sunday morning.

I will have my decaff Brew and then tackle it.

BlackCatTryingToFly · 19/02/2012 08:29

Morning all, I am still in my pjs too.
I feel a little brighter this morning as I think we all got a good sleep. I need to get organised today as all are back to school etc tomorrow.

Morning BC. A good night's sleep makes an enormous difference to how you feel. I am glad you slept well.

I need to check we have clean uniform and stuff for packed lunches as well today. I will need to get a move on as I will be stuck at home from 1pm onwards as the dcs have friends coming over.

liveinazoo · 19/02/2012 08:56

morning all!

i ran out of credit on my pay as go dongal yesterday....missed you lot and suffered dreadfully with CBAitis....pointy sticks work for meGrin

will have dress shortly.ds off riding today and im taking the girls with me shopping

we went to a library activity yesterday-how to trainyour dragon.there were only 2 other kids with mine and its such a shame as it was lovely and although aimed at 6 upwards little zoo(4) was fine sitting quietly while they read a bit of the book and loved the colouringand sticking activities!

carrotsandcelery · 19/02/2012 09:05

There are beautiful blue skies here as well zoo and sparkly snow for the light to bounce off. There isn't a lot of snow but enough to cover everything and make it pretty.

I have folded a load of washing, hung a load of washing and put another load of washing on. Dh is still in bed so I can't shower so I might have to face the dishes in a minute.

carrotsandcelery · 19/02/2012 09:06

BTW sounds like a lovely day yesterday zoo. The thought of no internet is scary Shock

carrotsandcelery · 19/02/2012 09:38

For once in my life my procrastination has paid off. Dh has finally got up and while he is waiting for his coffee to brew he is loading the dishwasher. Hurrah! I think I will sneak into the shower and get off to the riding hat shop with dd Grin

Hi folks, Am feeling fairly good so far today and as a result we have cleared the recycling stuff from under the stairs, taken it to the recycling center and visited DM. Back home now so need to have some lunch then sort clothes etc for tomorrow.

Grin at tumbleweed!

OP posts:
carrotsandcelery · 19/02/2012 13:26

HELLO! Smile

Well done on the recycling BC. It feels great when you get a good job done.

I have hoovered again (at least once a day job with Twilight in the mix), loaded dw again, cleaned worktops, cleaned table. The place looks tolerable apart from the dreaded upstairs.

I need to do a meal plan. I need 3 slow cooker options as we have 3 nights a week when we are late in.

Scout19075 · 19/02/2012 13:39
Thanks to MomScout for emailing me the original link!
BlackCatTryingToFly · 19/02/2012 13:44

Grin Brilliant!!! Scout

bessie26 · 19/02/2012 14:14

We've just got back from cuddling lambs Grin we had lunch there, so I need to put the soup I made in the slow cooker into the freezer & eeek! Had better go check the list so DH can goto the supermarket! Will watch that clip with a Brew later.

carrotsandcelery · 19/02/2012 14:15

Grin love it Scout. That is definitely how it goes some days.

BC thanks for the reminder about laundry. I had forgotten the load in the machine.

I have made a green lentil chilli and put it in the slow cooker for tonight. Yum!

carrotsandcelery · 19/02/2012 14:16

Hi bessie xposts!

Were the lambs cute and cuddly and broody making?

I will be perusing your blog later for tofu ideas as I have 3 packets and need to use them up. Can I put it in the freezer?

BlackCatTryingToFly · 19/02/2012 14:31

Does anyone know this: Is it possible to bookmark a whole thread?
Or is there another way of getting to a thread quickly?

I just wondered as I am interested in that organised thread in AIBU and didn't want it to disappear. I haven't found time to read through it all yet.

OP posts:
bessie26 · 19/02/2012 15:03

carrots yes, you can freeze tofu before or after you've cooked it. If you freeze it before cooking, it becomes slightly firmer afterwards which some people (apparently) prefer. I have a Thai red curry recipe on my blog which I do in the slow cooker which i freeze too.

BC I have added that organised thread to my "watch" list so I don't loose it. (I also have a copy of the "master list if anyone wants it, but TBH it's just a copy & paste of the thread)
You could also just save it as a bookmark on your browser. It might be worth clicking the "show all messages" button first though, so you get them all on one page?

The lambs were VERY cute (2 days old) but didn't make me broody. DD1 LOVED cuddling them though, sooooo cute! And even DD2 was really excited about seeing the animals, and the people in the shop, and the fact there was BREAD to eat (they're so easily pleased at that age!)

I've checked the list & packaged the soup up, but it needs to cool before going in the freezer. I've also done a few of my Sunday chores (water plants, empty water & fluff out of tumble drier) and am now having a quiet Brew before DH gets back. Must watch that vid now.

BlackCatTryingToFly · 19/02/2012 15:37

Thanks bessie Smile.

I have sorted school uniform and nursery clothes, found school bags and put PE shorts in washing machine, Shock hope they dry by the morning.
Just need to locate school shoes so they are easy to find in the morning.

The tiredness is starting to creep back in now Sad so am having a rest before dinner time.

OP posts:
carrotsandcelery · 19/02/2012 15:49

Have you eaten BC - maybe a banana will boost your blood sugar level and see you through to the dcs bedtime.

I have the getting organised thread on my watch list too as it is a lot of info to absorb all at once and a long thread to read.

I found another tofu slow cooker recipe which appealed to me as well bessie. I will look for a link.

The lambs sounds gorgeous. I haven't done anything like that for years.
