Freak - poor you, hope you feel better & that DS slept longer for you today.
I have now got into the habit, once both boys are up - setting up their breakfast things and going back to bed! I set my alarm for 7 in case I fall asleep, take a cuppa up with me and lie down in the dark. They either watch tv, play or eat breakfast :)

Not sure HMHB, have a few things on my mind I guess, nothing major really but things that are there. Exh messing around on divorce, my course, job app, ds being whingy etc. Was triggered at the weekend because exh had the dc and I had an evening out on fri for friends bday but then didn't see a soul all weekend until the dc came back on sunday morning. Normally if I have nothing to do when he has the dc I just enjoy the quiet, read a book, have a bath etc but for some reason I felt very lonely. Worried this weekend will be the same as we have swapped weekends but everyone seems to be busy. Don't want to do anything major but would be nice if there was someone I could go for a drink with on Sat eve for example.

Am helping out at preschool this afternoon :) Quite excited!

6.30 this morning jks, much better Smile And glad I'm not the only one who leaves them to it first thing Grin

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 18/01/2012 14:33

Hi everyone, I am being rubbish at listing at the moment but things aren't falling apart around my ears so I'm doing ok Grin

Freak - it is hard to just be quiet and read etc when you've got a lot on your mind though, too much time for thoughts! Can you just crack on with your course while you haven't got interruptions?

Much better night last night, DS2 is pretty much better from the chickenpox although still covered with scabs - lovely!

I am also a slacker in the morning, DS1 comes in for a quick cuddle and then either goes back to his room to play or goes and switches the PC on and plays on the Beebies website until we're all ready to go downstairs.

AnonymousBird · 18/01/2012 14:59

Freak - sorry to hear you are a bit below par. It's a funny time of year too, easy to feel a bit disjointed IYSWIM I think. I'm having a "funny" week. No major worries to speak of, but am just feeling like I'm kind of waiting for January to pass before life "restarts" a bit.... As Ali says though, chance to get up/ahead with your coursework?? You may find someone for a drink yet......

Internet playing up today, so only just been able to log in! Too late to list properly now but I have:

Tidied up (except playroom)
Walked the dog
Done one load of washing
Made vat of bolognese
Ironing

I need to:

Collect from school
One more load of washing
Tidy playroom with DC again
Reading/spellings
Light fire
Warm up!

FreakoidOrganisoid · 18/01/2012 16:55

Yes, that's kind of what I mean though as in normally I'd have relished the time to get on with it but instead I did a bit during the day and then got really grumpy that that was all I was doing with my Saturday iyswim. That's not normally me so it's more that I have a bad attitude at the moment than the actual circumstances!

Playing at preschool was fun Grin Have playdo in my hair and stuck to my bum though!

FreakoidOrganisoid · 18/01/2012 16:56

thinking of putting a shout out on fb for the weekend but last time I did that no-one replied and I felt even worse!

AnonymousBird · 18/01/2012 18:17

Playdo in unmentionable places?!?!?! Ha ha!

A new concept at school was mentioned today.

DS (7) came out and said "Mrs W put me in the brilliant box today". Having never heard about the brilliant box before I, teasingly, said "WOW, you actually got IN the brilliant box did you". "Nooooooooo, mummy, don't be silly, she put my name on a piece of paper in the brilliant box".

Ahhhh. Apparently 10 out of 14 of them were causing chaos, so the four who worked out quickly to be quiet and sit and wait whilst order was restored were all "put in" the brilliant box!!!

What a fab idea!?

Right, all that's left to do:

Hang up washing that's just finished
Empty DW when it's finished
Reading with DC
Watch some of Stargazing with DC once they are in their PJ's Smile
Light fire

JKSLtd · 18/01/2012 20:06

Love the brilliant box Grin

Freak - tis always a risk, but maybe aim low, just ask if anyone is at a loose end then if anyone replies, ask them what they would like to do?
still think it's best to ask than not. good luck!

Exhausting trip to town earlier, but got lots done & was lovely to get out on my own again - starting to enjoy the freedom of longer gaps between feeds :)

In DS's class if they are good their names go from cloud to sun and if they are on the sun all day then they get a star on their chart.

They are these - though I used party rings for the saucers & polos for the handles. They look fab. Though my tip from today's efforts is to source decent marshmallows that are a regular shape - some of my cups are rather slanty Grin

DedalusDigglesPocketWatch · 20/01/2012 07:41

Why is it that it takes so long to get a house looking reasonable, yet it can turn to shit in less than 2 days? :o

I have been awake since 6am, but could not get out of bed and I have loads to do. The HV is coming over this morning at 9.30 and I need to:

Make sure everyone is dressed
Clear up breakfast
Get DD to school
Do some laundry
Get the chicken casserole on.

It can be done, hmmmmm

Pampered chef- LOVE their stoneware, fab stuff. Admit I've got most of mine when it's on offer or from points for hosting though, it is v v expensive full price.

Also have a very nice knife set I got for hosting, v good knives but again would be very expensive to buy.

Mini muffin tin and tart shaper thing great for kids to make jam tarts etc with.

They will try to make you buy the bloody chopper thing, I gave in after 2 or 3 parties of them telling me how amazing it is and have regretted it ever since. Piece of shit, knives much better, and it's impossible to clean, I ended up in a&e after cleaning mine. RESIST THE CHOPPER. (and if you really want one you can get them elsewhere for about a fiver so massive rip off)

Safe cutters good for kids to use.

Most other stuff is gimmicky and rubbish.

HMHB I might have a coffee date with a BOY next week (hate going on dates though so can't say I'm exactly looking forward to it!) Have handed in job application now so that's one stress done with, and can see light at end of tunnel with course. But now have massive form to fill in from DWP because I was honest and rang them about my 3 hours helping at preschool Can really see why people don't bother to inform them tbh, so much hassle. xh still an idiot but that's nothing new Grin.

Hello everyone :)

As of Monday I will be back with proper lists and generally getting my act together. Things have been ticking over quite nicely so no chaos to deal with, but I've got things now on the horizon that need sorting sooner rather than later.

I have some lovely Pampered Chef serving spoons that a friend gave me for Christmas a few years ago - I really hope she didn't pay full price for them!

JKS - well done on the weight loss! I am trying to lose some too, but I shan't be sharing my weight with you all Wink Friday is my weighing day and today I had lost a pound so the right direction.

FreakoidOrganisoid · 20/01/2012 16:24

Grin anon, no but I've been to quite a few parties (and hosted 3 purely for the freebies!)

I have dusted downstairs, that was a job long overdue!

JKSLtd · 20/01/2012 18:33

Ali - it's not exactly very much yet! In fact I wouldn't be surprised if I've put it back on tomorrow it's such a small amount. But I am being good so hoping it's the start of a downward trend :)
