Had mad rush round in case PIL got here earlier than usual, so now having a sit down with MN & tv :)

In gross news....found a dead pigeon stuck in the chimney in the spare room got DH to remove the corpse, I have hoovered a little and put all the junk back in front of it for now, will get the Dyson at it once PIL have gone :)

I had a dead mouse in the loft yesterday, so I share your "bleugh" at dead animals. The second I opened the hatch, I could smell it. Yuk yuk yuk. Luckily our loft opens through our garage, not the house, so I just left the hatch open for a few hours!!!! I hadn't been up there for nearly two weeks so I suspect it had been there a while (double bleugh).

DW is fixed by the way!!!! I am now just using extra dishes willy nilly, BECAUSE I CAN! But that is too much fun reckless and a waste of water and power, so I think that will stop today.

Anyway, back to today. Have not stopped!

We don't do too much for Mother's Day, but still it was lovely, my requests for no nappy changes & watch the sport I wanted to on tv were granted
Add in some chocolate (for sharing says DS1!) and some cards, it's all good.

DS1 finishes term on Fri so last week of just the girls, then he has 3 weeks off, eek.

aargh I've been so crap lately. And it shows. The very basics have been done so on the surface it looks ok but look closer and dust is building up under things, the cupboards are a mess, the toys are all jumbled...

I did however do my ironing last week. Some of it had been there so long it no longer fitted the dc . I do remember packing from the ironing pile when I went to my parents over xmas so some of it had been there since at least then!

It is DH's birthday today. We decided to do cards and presents this evening with cake once he is home from work, the boys are often not awake even when he leaves for work these days!

ali, a lot of stuff just gets put straight away but I find there are some things I can't get away with not ironing (especially in winter when they sit on an airer indoors for a couple of days to get dry).

Finished list, apart from the bed part. We've had a lovely day, this is the first year that DS1 has been really excited about other people's birthday's - he was very keen to help DH blow out his candles

Anon - I bought DH the HFW Veg book as one of his presents, so next week's menu plan will include something from it!

Thanks JKS - he is 42 which is bizarre because I can remember my Dad's 40th birthday!!

I think I first became aware of my parents ages when they were in their 40's - given I'm 37 now and DS1 is only 5, I think my kids will be the same which is a bit when I think about it. Silly really.

Feeling a bit gutted & :( as just rang my Mum - bad daughter didn't ring on Sunday which I was already feeling guilty about (not really sure how I forgot tbh, I was tired but that's no excuse) - only to find out the flowers never arrived :( Have rung & complained, think the dithering over changing MIL's delivery date meant my Mum's got cancelled by mistake.
They've said they will include an apology card from them & I think I'm not paying for delivery, just wondering if I should email and complain?

Rang again today, got new set of flowers ordered for my Mum, turns out MILs will be delivered (free to me) to hers anyway now tomorrow as they are already with the courier. This could be good but...she's away in Oz for 4/6 weeks
Have no idea what will happen to the flowers & chocs now.
Hopefully my Mum will get hers, eventually.

The whole cockup started cos we changed MIL's delivery date so she could have hers early pre-Oz trip. So she's had hers, phew. But by changing her order, they mistakenly cancelled both actual Mother's Day ones. But didn't tell me. Such a palaver. Hopefully my Mum's will arrive today/tomorrow.
