DD finally given in for a 2nd nap, thankfully, she was getting v grumpy!

Have tried a victoria sandwich but my 2 cakes have come out very skinny, did I not get enough air in my mixture? Will put jam in the middle & sprinkle some sugar (slight confusion over caster vs icing for the top) on top and tast it anyway :)

I have done tons today but again no list - never mind, as long as it is all getting done! Am off to the cinema with a friend tonight, can't wait!

JKS - with the cakes, how fresh were your eggs? Makes a big difference I have noticed, ones which would be fine to cook for poached or scrambled or whatever but might be a bit past it for a nice fluffy cake. Or your oven might be too hot?

The eggs were fine, but the oven is always too hot, takes less time to cook things than recipes say.
This recipe said 25mins but after 20 they were slightly beyond 'golden'!

Had lovely meal out Fri night, not enough sleep though + too much wine though so didn't do much on Saturday.
Had friends round for a roast today so toys are in chaos.
Am off to bed soon though so I won't be able to see them

Evening :)

Lovely weekend here. I went to the cinema with a friend on Friday, to see the Marigold Hotel one with Judy Dench, it was really good.
Saturday MIL and great-MIL came for coffee in the morning, then we went out for lunch and into town and have decided on carpet for the boys new bedroom - fitter is coming tomorrow to measure.
Today we pottered at home, watched the rugby and had a roast, but DH got the grass cut and the boys spent a couple of hours in the garden. Plus I washed the sofa covers and got them dry on the line - first outside drying of the year, hurrah!
Also, I have had a huuuuge sort of all the boys clothes and the wardrobe in the spare room in preparation for the bedroom move. Took me ages but everything is all organised now. DS2 officially has too many clothes.

MONDAY

Take unwanted Boden items to the post office
Pick up parcel from post office (not the same one )
Mum and Dad coming for part of the afternoon
Carpet fitter coming 3.30pm onwards
Check mother's day cards, order flowers
Check card and present status for DH, DS2 and my Mum's birthdays all in the next fortnight.
Speak to mum and dad about possible holiday dates

Ali - all my DC have too many clothes! I kepe thinking it will get better as they get older....

List is scratched today. I had a bad night's sleep, DS1 then DS2 then DS2 again then DS1 up for the day at 6.15 (JKS I know but that is like the middle of the night here!!!)

DS2 is now napping and I have sat down with crumpets and a cuppa.

Hello. Sounds like nice weekends all round. I spent yesterday, 8.30 - 4 at a rugby club, watching DC in a tournament. Long old day, but weather gorgeous and kids had a great great time, so home tired and happy!

We've got our first veg under way in the greenhouse - peas and broad beans. Yum, bloody yum. The rest arrived today and I can't wait to get everything growing again.

Today - have had a productive morning actually. DDog is on holiday for a week (again!) so means I can really properly vacuum and mop all the floors, clean down the utility etc and not have it all ruined by one dastardly shake of her hairy body two minutes later!!

A neighbour was walking in the field behind this morning whilst I was talking to the chickens and she called out "you going to take them for a walk"? Not sure who is more batty - me or her!

Will have to pass on the favour at some point. Plus get her a bottle of wine (the friend, not DD obv!). My back aches from doing it all.
