Ali - no one is more shocked than me, haven't even paid for this year's holiday yet, but we want to go with another family and the place we want is really small and books up early for school holidays, so we can't go this year as we had hoped, so 2013 it is!!!!!! Scary though!

It is absolutely freezing here. Wind buffetting so hard on the house, it feels like bits are going to fall off!

As DH is away, I'm eating with the DC this week so meals for this week are:

M - Left over HFW ratatouille turned into a pasta bake (it was yummy actually, though I say so myself!)
Tu - Risotto with bacon and peas
W - Goulash and roasted gnocchi
Th - Sandwiches/crumpets and fruit
F - Pasta with greens.

A v productive day. Helped by DD having 2 naps, though for the first time her having a later nap meant she did NOT want to go to bed! So after lots of shouting I think she fell asleep about 8
She has been waking earlier too, before 7 some days, not good.

DVD appears not to be 'viewable' either, sigh, nothing's ever straightforward!

JKS we had that with T the other day, he conked out after tea having a cuddle with DH, only for 15 minutes, and then he was bouncing around until gone 9pm. Nightmare.

I ordered Mother's Day flowers, paid extra to get them delivered on the day. Then MIL announced they were coming to us (now they are welcome anytime but this was inconvenient!). Luckily the company let me change so she's actually getting hers this Fri, as they are off to Oz for 6ish weeks soon after the day itself. Though I'm putting money on her ringing me telling me I got the day wrong

Blitz? I was perhaps optimistic in my choice of terminology (benefit of hindsight!) so, in the slightly lacking sense of the word, yes, I made some headway. One or two layers of detritus have been removed, ie. we can see the floor again ...

Though, my study sort is a kind of "has to get a lot worse before it gets better" kind of project... assigning one hour a day this week to hopefully break the back of it, get the hideous amount of papers culled and in some sort of order and into my nice new filing cabinet.... but as of today, I am DEFINITELY in the still getting worse stage!!!

Christmas Decs!! that made me smile!

Freezing and cold and wet and just generally YUK. DDog had better be happy with short walk today as I just cannot bring myself to go on a big hike.

I need some lunch, have battled with the study for two hours this morning, but finally, finally there is light at the end of the tunnel. Had a box of all the kids stuff, their various certificates and reports from over the years of nursery and school which was lovely to find. Very sweet class photos and things - they looked SO LITTLE!!!!! So glad I keep all that stuff, even if it is just boxed up and kept safe, it's always there.

Came across my school reports . It's funny, I have this rose tinted inaccurate impression that I was quite "good" at school, ie. largely not in too much trouble, generally got fairly good exam results etc. How wrong I am! Luckily I pulled it out of the bag when it mattered for Public Exams etc, but in between times I clearly only did just enough to get by......

Finished off the walls yesterday, aw is going to come and sand it all down for me and paint. I feel like I should do it myself rather than struggling to pay him but I don't want to! Plus as he is an actual decorator it will look much better if he does it. Although when I told the boyfriend how much he'd quoted he volunteered to come and do it for me for nothing but I'd feel bad if he did that! Want to spend time having fun with him not have him decorate my house. It's that whole spending money for an easy life thing again.

Have not achieved much today, bit of shopping and that's about it.

Hi all. Sorry been a bit full on here so not had chance to post.

DH has been away for a couple of weeks which we survived pretty well. I got a LG washer/dryer in the end. It is a little over spec but I wanted something that would last.

DD is progressing really well with potty training. Its the sweetie bribes incentives!

Well, what a gorgeous day - hard to believe that it immediately follows yesterday. I've done two hours on almost finishing up my study/filing cabinet project and I reckon another 20 minutes and I've done all I can do for now. The amount to throw out is unreal! But I did find in the rubble a box of DC clothes that can go on Ebay so all I need now is a free listing weekend.....

Normal housework is all being postponed to tomorrow.

Then DDog will get a proper walk (at last she says!)
