I'm off any sort of track I might have been on today.
First DH did the sch run so that put me off rushing out to swimming so didn't go.
Then DD only had a 45min nap instead of her usual (& needed!) 2ish hrs.
I managed a 30min though which I needed.
So, not a lot done.

Mother's Day coming up soon - looking at flowers to order soon.

Sky box died yesterday. The cheapest way to replace it turns out to be getting an HD box, even though we don't an HD tv anyway it should arrive soon & we can't wait.
We've had Sky+ for 10 years so having to wait for an ad break to go for a wee is an odd feeling

Can't remember whether I said on this thread, but DH decided to go freelance rather than get another permanent job - and the first invoice has been paid today, yay! I have put some bubbly in the fridge

JKS - sorry to hear about Sky Plus box. They are renowned for being a bit flaky but upgrade to HD sounds good (we don't have an HD TV either!). And what would we do without Sky Plus? We go on holiday to PIL's place regularly and they don't have Sky Plus there and we miss it so much!!!

Continuing the theme of dying household items, our landline phones are at death's door. If you have just got off the phone and it rings, then the handset downstairs won't pick the call up. Really annoying. They have been on the way out for a while but we haven't got round to researching what is available and replacing, so that is a job for this weekend.

I prefer washing up to loading/unloading dishwasher... Also hate glasses out of d/w, they smell funny! But sympathies anyway anon.

Been skyping dsis this pm. They were drinking wine, would have been rude not to join them . Bit merry now and need a list to focus!

Freaki - don't know, maybe just me, but the amount of water/washing up liquid/rinsing/mess etc involved in me washing up is extraordinary!!!! Clearly, I have not got a well honed technique. Though, I quickly learned one helpful thing - clean tea towel on the drainer to stand/lie everything on means a) helps it dry a bit and b) stuff doesn't slide around....

Ali - we only have one old-ish handset, ie not wireless for our landline, is a pain sometimes but we've never got to grips with any cordless system. So yes let me know what you decide on.

I think it's partly because my parents have a d/w but refuse to put pans, wine glasses, the dining room cutlery, chopping boards and various other stuff in so you still end up doing a full load of (the worst bits of the) washing up And you end up with stuff all over the side waiting for the d/w to finish and cool so you can unload and reload... I don't exactly enjoy washing up but at least it can be done straight away. This view is definitely coloured by my parents' weirdy system though!

House is a tip, seems to be cat hair everywhere, will prob seem a lot better once I've hoovered.

God, the rain! Did it ever! We have rugby on Sundays, luckily in the morning (which wasn't exactly dry but vaguely damp) because by about midday it was absolutely hooning down here.... Need the water though so not a bad thing.

The house is an absolute tip!! I know what I'm going to be spending several hours tomorrow doing... can't be arsed to even start it now.

DH is away now for a week, and we were out quite late last night, so I am having a quiet glass of wine and heading to bed with my book before 9....

I was planning to spend today doing a big clean... but seem to be pulling wallpaper off the wall in my hallway instead Caught one of the loose bits as I walked past earlier and got annoyed so pulled it off and have now done a whole wall. Have also stripped my bed and am washing the sofa covers though so suppose I have done something useful, even if my house does look filthy.
