Babystep 1: shine you shine. yes we know this one but do you shine it the fat fairy way? cant remember? check here

And for a treat as it is sunday no mission.

Oh and can i just may 2012 bring you productive decluttering and flying so your houses step closer to those of your dreams and house work no longer be that evil monster that dominates.

Todo
take small amount of rubbish from car
take car to MOT
taxi back
go to brother's house
move stuff from dd's room to our bedroom in attempt to make her room liveable - once again the combination of school stuff and holiday fun is unworkable...will have to decide which takes priority and rationalise her room again so she can USE it and not say she can't find anything.

BlueEyeshadow · 05/01/2012 09:48

Blast, the old pushchair will have to stay in the car a bit longer. Nobody in the preg crisis centre today.

Off shopping and charity shop dumping now.

feetheart · 05/01/2012 09:56

Morning all:
Posting and running as should be working.
Want to go for a run today but howling wind and heavy rain showers might make me wimp out - haven't worked out how to deal with rain-on-glasses/lack of vision yet but need to, maybe I should just go and see what happens.
Computer v slow and driving me mad this morning.
List:

  • Work - bank rec and working through many emails
  • Run
  • Missions x 2 or 3
  • 15 mins decluttering - will try 'stuff' cupboard in dining bit of kitchen
  • Plan training for next 2-3 mths so actually get miles under my belt for March
  • Finish menu-plan/list
  • Pack away more Christmas stuff
  • Freezer list
  • Bring 4 DC home from school and take all of them to DS's swimming lesson - might be good as others will entertain DD who usually claims boredom

Need to work, will try and catch up later. Hope everyone has a good day :)

ToffeeWhirl · 05/01/2012 10:00

School run and morning routine done. DS1 still off sick. I keep expecting someone from school to ring up and tell me off, but he really is ill.

Just off to do errands in town (it is Thursday, after all).

notveryinventive · 05/01/2012 10:54

right signing in to see what I have to do today and what I have done.

  • wipe down kids table twice (decided to add another one after breakfast too) done once, second after tea tonight
  • wipe down kitchen sides and sink
  • Take DDs to group. Someone has said they are going to bring their baby weighing scales, so hopefully will try again.
  • Wipe Bathroom done
  • ring council re garage
  • Load of Washing done one load, but need to do another which is going round now
  • Ironing
  • Allocate DH to sort out the crap in DD1s room done

Ooh im not doing too bad today so far Grin

bitchy the size of your list Shock then further investigation sees watching films is on there so can I add Mning onto mine Grin, seriously though well done, looking forward to my list growing that long.
Justone 40 mins doing a post for it to disappear, you have my sympathies.

Lauren Zumba Zumba Zumba. Good luck in losing the weight.

feetheart · 05/01/2012 11:43

Have done work and, thankfully computer sped up.

Am going for a run but will let big black cloud do its worst first as really don't want to get soaked - seems to be sunshine and heavy showers here so I'll let this one past and hopefully be back before the next one.
I have had my first sponsor on VirginMoneyGiving site so feel as though I should put some effort in :)

Will tackle other things whilst waiting for shower to blow over.

Flyingoutofcontrol · 05/01/2012 12:12

Eek! MNet went off line and I almost lost my post (but had it saved in a notepad!) - so I have wasted time Blush hanging about to post it as I'm so chuffed with myself! Blush

Am in a Fly-y sort of a mood today and already have a ta-da list Smile

So:
Emptied DW
Stripped and remade our bed with fresh linen (rather than waiting for the wash and tumble of the stuff I stripped off!)
S&S en-suite + deep clean of shower
Stuck shower baskets in DW and they're soooooo sparkely!
S&S downstairs loo
Organised airing/linen cupboard and sorted towels to go to charity at weekend
Found all spare bed linen and stuck each set in a pillowcase of the set so it's all together and neat (love that tip!)
Washed our towels
Washing bathmats from bathroom and loo
Laid away clothes washing from yesterday
WAH job

I need to sort out a menu for this week (but need to check freezers before hand) and then do a supermarket trip so off to do freezers now before DS wakes!

LinzerTorte · 05/01/2012 13:22

Have hardly been at home all day so minimal Flying here, but I have been for a run, got my old number transferred to my new phone, taken DD1 to the bookshop to spend some of her birthday money and... that's about it, really. Now sitting in the car while DD1 is at her dyslexia lesson; I've brought the MN book of the month with me as I'm trying to get it finished before the web chat, but my new phone is proving to be too much of a distraction. Blush

feetheart Are you doing a sponsored run? I'll sponsor you if you let me have the details. Smile

laurenamium · 05/01/2012 13:47

I'll sponsor you too feet! I'm a sucker for charity!!

swanrevelry · 05/01/2012 14:20

done
drop in on long lost friend near brother's, nice chat
brother's window, no can't close it without key to house, but it is only very slightly ajar - you've have to be a criminal mastermind to notice it can't see anyone getting past bars in the first place...harrupmph
long walk to and from exercise
bought kelp tablets in attempt to give myself iodine Shock
bought rescue remedy (thanks Whoknows)

found I am overdrawn, so need to sort that out before I can sponsor you Feet

Going to take black sack up to dd's room now

todo
tax disc hey, that came round fast, I feel like I was doing that yesterday...still can only afford six monther this time too...

ToffeeWhirl · 05/01/2012 15:31

Errands done, plus lots of Flying at home. Have taken all the decorations down and put the bare tree in the garden, awaiting collection at the weekend. It's a relief to be getting back to normal now. Still haven't done any ironing, although I have managed to put some laundry away. The pile of ironing is in danger of toppling over now. I'll try to do some after DS2 gets back from school .

Ah, he's back already. Will BBL.

Lifebeginsatforty · 05/01/2012 19:45

So what have I managed to do?

Get dressed DONE
DW DONE
clear up breakfast DONE
DC dressed DONE
load pushchair for day DONE
nursery run DONE
compile huge list of all things not managed since Sat and break up into realistic time slots HALF
find all ingredients for dinner (make top up shop list) DONE
find stuff can do in cafe for 15 mins whilst DS sleeps (ha, ha) DONE and he did sleep Smile
leave house again on time DONE

ALSO DONE:
washing up
cook dinner
phone 2 childminders (yay, I have so been putting that off)
important, but tricky letter for Nursery Committee
swim Grin first time in at least four months that I haven't decided that I have "more important things to do"

STILL TO DO:
hang out 2 loads of washing
help put DC to bed
emails for Nursery Committee (hope my brain lasts that long, it tends to flake out with the DC bedtime)

May BBL. May crash out.

Hope everyone well, and had good day despite weather.

notveryinventive · 05/01/2012 20:05

Well the end of another day.

Tada

  • wipe down kids table twice
  • wipe down kitchen sides and sink
  • Take DDs to group. Someone has said they are going to bring their baby weighing scales, so hopefully will try again. She was weighed and put on enough weight for me not to worry anymore
  • Wipe Bathroom
  • ring council re garage, not very helpful they have sent an e-mail to the blacksmiths with my details on so they can ring me
  • 2 loads of washing
  • Allocate DH to sort out the crap in DD1s room
  • Remade DD1's bed as she had another accident last night. She's just turned 4 and was determind to wear pants in bed, but she's obviously not ready. Oh well she'll get there.

not done

  • Ironing, but you know what it will still be there tomorrow.

Right tomorrow's list:

  • wipe down kids table twice
  • wipe down kitchen sides and sink
  • Wipe Bathroom
  • Ironing
  • Weekly shop, plus get my blood taken (they have a service in Asda for this so will do it at the same time), checking my thyroids as Ive got a few of the symptoms of an underactive one (always tired, cold, anxiety kicks in lots, Id like to say weight gain, but I do scoff on crap a lot though you never know)
  • have an appointment to get my nails done (not really bothered anymore, but started when I was PG with my toes as it was summer and they needed doing, but Ive always made an appointment while there and I dont want to not make one if that makes sense)

Anyway putting DS to bed now then sitting around relaxing trying not to think about food.

justonemorejingle · 05/01/2012 20:14

Despite myself I managed to be productive this afternoon.

Was out all day with toddler from drop-off to pick-up time in desperate attempt to tire her out (think it worked, she practically flung herself in to her bed). Also I couldn't face being in the house with toddler full of energy it was so bad.

Came back in the afternoon with both children to desperately messy house and just left them to it in the living room, so
Ta da
Loaded dishwasher
Tidy and organised toys
Tidy our bedroom and sort out clothes
Fold children's clothes
Hoover everywhere
Clean kitchen
Cook dinner
Pick up dry-cleaning across the road

All very good but unfortunately by the end of it I had a whimpering 4 year old in need of attention who actually turned Charlie and Lola off and went to sulk (Bad Mother emoticon) but at least she's sulking in a clean house (can't-win emoticon)

Toddler mainly followed me around with a feather duster so bonus points to her

To Do
Wash floors
Clean bathroom
Read Fly Lady links and find out what I should actually be doing!
unload dishwasher and wash dinner dishes
study (not likely)

GO TO BED EARLY!!!!

Waves to all, not going to attempt personals, too traumatised from yesterday. Though I should expect if it takes me 40 minutes to go through everything that Mumnset would log me out by then...!

outofbodyexperience · 05/01/2012 20:22

Oops. Didn't get round to posting this morning, and you lot have filled up yet more pages in the meantime!

Swan, yep, I'm having an outofbodyexperience as I've been locked out of my madwoman username for some unfathomable tech reason that mnhq were supposed to fix before Christmas, but didn't quite get round to... When I can be bothered I'll e-mail again, but I think I'm at the bottom of tech's in-tray....

Righty. Flying. Today. And all that.
Where to start, where to start. Am having a mild crisis of cba. But need to sort kitchen, vacuum living area and dust/polish. I also need to work out what to cook, as the ils are coming for dinner...

There's something faintly depressing about having put all the Christmas tree decs away, but still having four days left before the kids go back to school.

It will all disappear tomorrow though, as we're back at the dog ophthalmologist for the thorn-skewered one. So that'll cost me a fortune and take my mind off the state of the house!

outofbodyexperience · 05/01/2012 20:27

Although, I will confess to staying past the allocated fly lady bedtime last night, which may be contributing to my inertia. I watched some random hoarding show, having gritted my teeth through toddlers and tiaras, so although I felt faintly queasy on both counts, I think it counted as a 'beware' session on both parenting and domestic fronts... Eek. Watching the woman on the hoarding show was faintly reminiscent of living with my mother though, and made me vaguely uneasy about what might be happening whilst we're out of the country! Ulp....

justonemorejingle · 05/01/2012 20:32

Outofbody I know! Toddlers and Tiaras...!!!?? When I stumbled upon a double episode I was glued in the same way as someone gawping at a car crash, through gritted teeth... It actually made me feel like a good mother! Can't believe people actually live like that... I felt so sorry for a couple of the children, particularly one girl whose sister was 'fantastic' and she just hated being on stage but was 'encouraged' to anyway....

All very very odd. Do they have children's pageants in the UK as well, I wonder?

OverflowingMum · 05/01/2012 20:41

evening all.

But I have been FLYing...ish!
have managed to de-Christmas house - just! and even got all the stuff back in the loft - hoorah!
DH back at work on Tues, DDs 2,3 and 4 back at school today, Ds1 and DD1 back on Monday...so normality gradually returning LOL
I was back at work today - was a challenge getting back into proper morning routine!

will attempt to post lists tomorrow...
managed a run tonight though...need to keep up with it....(or get back into it really!) Dec has definitely been a month of too much food and too little exercise!

feet what run are you doing? I have signed up for another half marathon in May - bit of a worry as I havent run more than 7 miles since Sept LOL best start building up my long runs again!

right...need to dash as stuff to finish before early night...
hopefully will not be woken tonight by ridiculous gales and next doors 10ft trampoline blowing OVER the fence and landing in our garden Shock

BBtomorrowGrin

outofbodyexperience · 05/01/2012 20:44

not that i've ever come across, fortunately...

but give it time...

last night there was some poor child who was asked what she was going to do after this show, and she quite happily said 'i'm going to take a really long break, because all this pageant stuff is really boring' and then they cut to her mother, who was asked the same question and was happlily telling the interviewer how hard they were going to work for the next one. i spent the whole programme with my jaw alternating rapidly between gritted together or on the floor.

i haven't watched crap telly for ages, it was quite therapeutic. Blush

justonemorejingle · 05/01/2012 20:46

Yes, got to love crap telly.
Think that motivates me to come off mumsnet now and switch it on
(musnet has taken away all crap telly time actually)

I find that the evenings I go on mumsnet I find it hard to fall asleep as my brain is swimming with various people's problems/antics/fly lists...

Time to log out... Goodnight all!

BlueEyeshadow · 05/01/2012 22:03

Had a fairly CBA kind of day today - not used to having the boys around on Thursdays. DH and I have got the Christmas tree down and the loft sorted though. Now just got to deal with all the stuff that came out of the loft...

I have loads of stuff to do tomorrow, but the loft insulation people are coming "between 8 and 4" so no idea if I'll be able to go out on any of the errands. Grr!

Waves to all. Good night!

feetheart · 05/01/2012 22:36

Had planned to post a bit earlier but got chatting on the phone to my mum so need to be quickish if I am to try and get to bed at a sensible time Hmm
Don't think I could cope with Tantrums and Tiaras, just had to turn over from the Tiger Mothers programme as I was shouting at the TV Blush

OFM, Linzer, lauren and anyone else who is interested - I am doing the Silverstone Half Marathon in March. I wanted to do something BIG as I have a BIG birthday coming up this year and this seemed to tick quite a few boxes. I am raising money for Winston's Wish (the childhood bereavement charity) as that ties in too. I would be very grateful for any sponsorship but don't want to hassle anyone. I can PM the details to anyone who is interested as both my email and the Virginmoneygiving site will out me quite easily :)
Which one are you doing OFM? And how did the last one go? Been over to the runners threads but they are a bit scary and I'd never get anything done if I was trying to keep up with 2 threads, I can barely manage one as you may have noticed.

List update:

  • Work - done
  • Run - done - lots of wind, not too much rain, need hat!
  • Missions x 2 or 3 - nope, again!
  • 15 mins decluttering - nope
  • Plan training for next 2-3 mths so actually get miles under my belt for March - done
  • Finish menu-plan/list - nope, again!
  • Pack away more Christmas stuff - nope
  • Freezer list - nope
  • Bring 4 DC home from school and take all of them to DS's swimming lesson - done and worked well

Hmmmm, not a brilliant success rate on the Flying - familiar pattern re-appearing Hmm Lots more to add for tomorrow but will do that in the morning.
Need my bed now, night night everyone.

swanrevelry · 05/01/2012 22:41

OFM dd would have loved that to happen to us...she is desperate for a trampoline Shock
madwoman/out of body poor dog, hope it goes alright

pays homage to all with tiring toddlers, hopefully they'll never wear tiaras

what have I done?
handbag declutter, all cards in my new card systemizer
dd decluttered her pencilcase
at least 27 things flung from various drawers
sorted items into 2 sets of 16 drawlets from Really Useful Drawers, hope to now be able to find things like stamps, padlocks and pencils for compasses, rubber bands etc
dw, sink, washing
supervised music practice, homework, thank you letters, fishcake supper, hair washing, hungover husband

not done
no ironing whatsoever, and I managed to wear everything from last week's ironing pile without anyone noticing it wasn't ironed, so good riddance

messy kitchen remains despite efforts, messy house remains despite decluttering, but will try again tomorrow, now that errands out of the way

sheets still not changed, laundry not put away properly, upstairs still not decluttered AT ALL.

swanrevelry · 05/01/2012 22:43

Ps. Feetheart saw your goulash tagged! Looks delicious, interesting that you put mustard in. Will try as have stewing steak in freezer too.
