And for a treat as it is sunday no mission.

Oh and can i just may 2012 bring you productive decluttering and flying so your houses step closer to those of your dreams and house work no longer be that evil monster that dominates.

Morning all,

Cheerful Hope you're feeling better now. (And shouldn't you be in bed? Wink)

PA Good luck with all your paperwork today.

Busy day today here too. I'm teaching at school later on this morning, and after lunch and homework we'll be rushing off first to ice skating and then to DD1's first communion class. There are only 20 minutes between them and it usually takes me longer than that to get everyone changed, return the ice skates, etc. Oh, and I'll be looking a friend's DS while she teaches the FC class; had already said no to her when she asked me (several times) if I wanted to help teach the class too - which would be a v. bad idea according to DH as the priest wouldn't be at all happy about it if he found out I'm not Catholic - so didn't feel I could say no again (although DS gets on well with her DS, so I'm sure it will be fine).

My to-do list is growing by the day, so I'm just going to post three things that I have to get done this morning (apart from my morning routine) as I've been putting them off for days if not weeks:

Send thank you card
e-mail distant relative in USA
Buy saline solution online

coostoonettle · 12/01/2012 07:37

Morning all!

swan the doctors didn't give me the option of checking for iron but you're right it might be worth doing. I'll see if she improves with the penicillin - glad you are getting somewhere with your anxiety problems Smile

Thankyou justonemore for reassurance, I was really worried about her not eating so it's good to know they can survive off very little. She will only eat blue berries, although yesterday she only had milk and wouldnt eat anything...then threw it up anyway! I hope it doesn't last 6 weeks though Shock

Good luck pa and cheerful with your days!

Grin at feral children coos

Thanks for the well wishes bitchy

Well DD slept a bit last night so I feel almost human! Shes still asleep! Shock but she was sick in the night so lots of washing!

DP helped with my evening routine last night as I was like a zombie and he didn't dry and put dishes away Sad so I'm all out of sync with my day!

To do:
Put dishes away, shine sink
Clean bathroom
Wash DD bedding
DD laundry
Clean out rabbit indoor and out
Todays mission- not sure what it is yet ill have to look!
Paper work- lots of it
File last of paper mountain that I tackled yesterday
Ring Elc about undelivered bookcase
Ring ofsted about change to phone number
Cuddle DD lots!

Might as well get cracking before I grow an attachment in the form of DD for the day!

right, I'm off to [voluntary] work now at school, need to get dressed properly though.

done
early night last night
dealt with various whinge factors, everyone to school happily (I hope)

no routines at all, unless getting kids to school counts! Grin
listened to a Joan Armatrading record with ds2! (trying to listen to one record a day from my 1980's/90's collection] It is soo good. I Can Walk under Ladders!

Lauren speaks sternly to Just - I'm sure it won't be six weeks.
Whoknows oh the parties...dd is planning hers for middle of March, and ds2 is still fantasizing about go-karts...what are you planning?

laurenamium · 12/01/2012 09:33

Ooops sorry everyone!!

swanthingafteranother · 12/01/2012 09:35

Nettie lol at free veg soup, is that for us? A flyladies soup kitchen Wink

I assume it is ww free points..I made some delic soup yest with chicken noodle packet knorr and lots of cabbage in it, and extra noodles, I suppose noodles don't count as free though...

ToffeeWhirl · 12/01/2012 10:32

Just popping in quickly to see how you all are. I'd love to chat, but then I won't get anything done Sad. No time for messages, except to say:

Lauren - so sorry to hear that you are having such a tough time with your poorly DD. I really hope she is on the mend soon. Hope you are looking after yourself as much as possible too - it's exhausting looking after an ill child.

Lifebeginsatforty - thanks for your encouraging words Smile.

Have DS1 at home again today, but this time school have emailed me some work for him (at my request), so I'm going to do a bit of 'home ed' today. He's going to love me, isn't he Wink?

Just about to do my routines, then off into town as it's errand day.

I'll try to pop in again later. Bye for now.

Flyingoutofcontrol · 12/01/2012 10:46

Morning all, have vaguely caught up with the thread, but am in a rush today as I've been doing a bit of cleaning when DS first went down, so now trying to work and MNet while he still sleeps... I can't see it working too well!. Unfortunately, someone seems to have been mucking about with my PC in the office so I can't get connected to it - IT guys at work is looking into it, but it's not looking promising so may have to work tonight Angry.

Today I have a ta-da Smile and a to-do Sad list:
Ta-da is:
Up, dress and breakfast
Put on proper coffee to get me through the day (still sleeping with DS Hmm)
Towel washing - now in tumble drier
Stripped bed - now in machine
Organised a load of washing - in after bedding
S&S ensuite & loo - I do these after DH has washed and dressed as otherwise I end up having to do it twice due to toothpaste mountain in the sink!
Emptied DW - well, DH did as DS woke while I was trying to sneak out to grab a shower so DH dealt with him this morning
Dusted living room - didn't really need it apart from DS's crumbs, but the duster was out so...
Mopped kitchen floor - DS had a weetabix moment Grin

But my to-do is:
WAH job - hopefuly while DS sleeps
Work out menu plan - including stuff for dinner tonight
Make up shopping list
Go shopping
Finish the washing
and, while DS is in the bath with DH tonight, I MUST clean the bathroom loo - the shower and bath I can do with DS there, but not the loo as it involves little hands Hmm. It can then go onto the S&S routine (hopefully!) in the morning - it's so rarely used apart from the bath and the sink so should be relatively easy... DS down for a nap, S&S bathroom and it's done. I know it's not how FlyLady does it, but hopefully will work for me.

Right, going to bollock the IT guy as I NEED to have some free time to myself today!

BlueEyeshadow · 12/01/2012 11:27

Morning all!

Not a lot of flying today, although did manage the kitchen morning routine by plonking DS2 in front of the TV.

Just realised that my parents are coming THIS Sunday, and DS1's party is NEXT Sat. so need to get organised for both!! Sympathies WhoKnows!

Apropos parties - one of DS1's friends is Muslim - do you suppose it'll be a problem to serve sausages?? DS can't imagine a party without them! He's going to be 5. His friend's parents don't speak much English either...

justonemorejingle · 12/01/2012 11:29

Lauren sorry was rambling away there, certainly didn't mean to imply yours would go on for 6 weeks or alarm you!
Penicillin works miracles anyway. Sick chilren are very very exhausting!

ToffeeWhirl · 12/01/2012 12:39

Can't do my errands now, as DH has gone out to pick up some orders and I have to stay in with DS1. Managed to get a very reluctant DS to do some revision for a science test earlier. I could have sworn he wasn't paying any attention to his studies (he was singing and chatting away to himself and asking me every five minutes how long he had to do this for), but he then proceeded to get 9 out of 10 in his test Shock. He was very smug. Maybe he just learns differently from me Confused?

Am going to get him doing more homework now whilst I tackle some ironing.

swanthingafteranother · 12/01/2012 12:43

toffee hope ds1 feels more up to things soon, that's brilliant to get them to send him something to do at home, just to demystify if nothing else. This an awful time of year for coming down with bugs, Christmas far from being a pickme up knocks us all out. I am missing sunlight atm too.

I've been cataloguing in school library, but my limbs feel like lead and my hands and feet hurt, and I was starving, so I've come home for lunch (more cabbage soup) and some old stilton.

View out of the window is soo soo tidy (skimmias, winter jasmine, cobbled together flowers in window box), kitchen not up to much, and I'm not getting distracted...so back to school after lunch, now that I've given up my piano lessons. Thursday feels v free now and less anxiety inducing (although I'm sure I'll find somethign else to worry about in a minute...like planning teaching First Communion Clss on Sat (Linzer Grin which I have to finalise at parents meeting this evening. Done it for two years now, always a source of stress, although children lovely [sometimes]

swanthingafteranother · 12/01/2012 12:49

toffee ds1 managed a very poor 8 out of 24 in his science test, so much for regular attendance...Hmm I dread to think what he is going to get in his RE test, and as for his Art homework, Dh predicts a D1 (lowest grade and lowest effort) Dh and I are feeling despondent and depressed by all the inaccuracies and carelessness Sad Hopefully he will want to do better soon...

swanthingafteranother · 12/01/2012 12:52

Blue a vegetarian friend literally ripped a sausage out of her toddler's mouth at one of our parties long ago...it was v. embarassing. Could you serve some separate sausages made with beef for muslim child? I think there are loads of types in supermarket, including a kosher version?

LinzerTorte · 12/01/2012 13:18

Survived this morning's English lessons (despite the teacher already having done the worksheet that I was planning to do with DD1's class; she was very apologetic and said she needed to retire!), but only managed one thing on my list - ordering saline solution. Blush Why is washing my hair so time-consuming? Ah, it's because I've decided I like straight(er) hair and my hair isn't convinced.

swan Rather you than me. Grin My friend who's teaching DD2 is feeling rather stressed about planning the classes. She was going to take them all to the pottery studio to make little crosses, which I thought was a very good idea, but has now decided it would be much cheaper to buy some clay at the DIY store and for them to do it themselves.

Blue I can't see a problem in serving sausages as long as you have an alternative for your DS's friend (and I can't imagine you're serving just sausages!). I don't know if you'd have to make sure that they didn't touch anything else that he would eat, but best to be on the safe side I suppose. I know a lot of vegetarians (for non-religious reasons) wouldn't want their food to be "contaminated" (for want of a better word) by meat, but am not too up on vegetarianism on religious grounds.

Right, must go and get the ice skating things ready. A client has just phoned about a job that would keep me busy until the middle of next week, so my decluttering may have to be put on hold yet again.

swanthingafteranother · 12/01/2012 13:25

[nicks idea of clay crosses from Linzer] any more tips? We used to have a very proscriptive course {sp?) but it is now up to us to improvise and enthuse Grin

done
two slow cooked meals in bottom oven

MC forgot to say, very very best wishes with the job, first few weeks are bound to be v demanding.
PA I need your boundless energy

justonemorejingle · 12/01/2012 13:54

blue you could always have some turkey hot-dogs up your sleeve, they were popular with muslim children where I used to teach before - but tricky maybe could offend rather than the other way round?

Ta DA
Tidy bedroom
Dust EVERYWHERE (even behind bed and between cupboards)
Wash floor
strip bed
Deep clean bathroom

To Do
Tidy living room
De clutter hallway
hoover
Wash floors
Dust skirting boards (maybe delegate to 4 yr old who seems to enjoy this?)
Clean up kitchen
Plan food for the week (oops should have been Tuesday!)

Think of way not to pay parking ticket (why does 5 mins in a loading bay warrant a fine? I was picking up some papers, but they said I didn't 'load' my car with anything, it's all on cctv - scary!)

Unrealistic but stil To Do
Strip children's beds
deep clean children's room
Weekly shop
Ironing
Set aside time to read properly about fly lady system!!!

Can't think about doing a control journal yet.... maybe use my desk diary?

ChitChatInChaos · 12/01/2012 14:10

Hi everyone, sorry I?ve been missing all week!

Not Very - eggs on the house? That?s awful! Glad you?re moving.

lauren - that?s a lot to deal with, poor you and your poor DD

Feeling very tired, some self-inflicted with late nights, others because of DH?s late nights. He?s away tonight so hopefully I?ll get to bed early and manage to catch up on some sleep.

Was doing some crisis cleaning today and DS2 has fallen asleep on the floor in the lounge room ? it?s all open plan so I?ve had to take some time out and just chill out for a bit, what better to do than to pop onto MN?! Grin.

I did transfer him to the sofa, but if I take him up to his room he?ll wake up properly. Poor thing has been really suffering with his ears and throat. He?s on the list to have grommits put in, and his adenoids and tonsils out. Saw the ENT on Tuesday who confirmed that the tonsils MUST come out ? for a boy who hasn?t actually had any episodes for a month or so, his tonsils are enormous, and he?s obviously suffering constantly with low level pain, not sleeping unless given pain relief most nights (hitting and clutching his ears and swallowing with difficulty). Sad

But on a nice note, he starts nursery tomorrow, yippee!!! I feel as though I should be feeling all sad but I?m so bloomin? happy! 3 mornings a week where I can do things without children around!!!!!!! He will love it, I?m know. He?s soooooo ready for something like this!

Right ? list dump

Unload dishwasher done
School run done
Take a walk after school run done
1 hour crisis clean done
15 mins ironing done
Clear all laundry from Dining room - partly done
Clear miscellaneous items from dining table
Clear all miscellaneous items from dining room floor (theme going here!!!)
Tidy toys away in lounge
3 x washing (1 1/2 done)
School pick up
Wear DSs out in playground after school Grin
Early night

Sigh.... I need some motivation. Anyone live in Surrey and want to help get me motivated Hmm?????!!!!!

IceColdBitchy · 12/01/2012 14:17

Not quite sure what is going on. I feel asleep rather then reading my book last night and have spent all my day asleep after the school run. I am up so i can be ready for the school run and all i want to do is go back to sleep. really can't be bothered with anything atm. Usual afterschool chaos here so list:

sort out ds' training kit
take ds to training
sort out kit post training
ds is shower and bed for a reasonable time.

short sweet simple.

Have read through, however trying to remember anything is making my head hurt.

swan good luck with the cbt

PositiveAttitude · 12/01/2012 15:00

Swan - Boundless energy???? Where's that then????? Shock Just had an hours nap on the sofa. It was luvurrrrrly!!! Grin
I declare I have the loveliest DD3!! She has planned for me to go to the salon for an hour of luxurious pampering today to "chill me out".

I will be all swishy haired and chilled when I return. Grin

LinzerTorte · 12/01/2012 15:10

I'll let you know what they get up to swan; they've been given a book with ideas in it, but apparently they're quite dry. My friend said she'd like to take them out for a walk to look at religious relics/statues etc in the area, but I had to admit I hadn't noticed any Blush (there are generally lots around, though).

ChitChat I felt the same as you about nursery - and the fact that they all loved it definitely helped me not to feel guilty about enjoying my mornings to myself. Smile

DS had a nasty fall at kindergarten and now has a very swollen and bloody lip, so is feeling extremely sorry for himself. I've let him off ice skating for this week, so at least have only one child to get changed before we rush off to the FC class as DD1 didn't want to skate either.

Have realized yet again that I really need to tackle the chaos as I couldn't find our ice rink carnets ("block" of 10 tickets) before we came out and was very annoyed with myself that I'd have to pay for us all over again. Even if I only had to pay for DD2 in the end.

Must go as ice skating has finished...

outofbodyexperience · 12/01/2012 15:41

morning all. apols for missing yesterday, it was a bit chaotic! i had my first cross country skiing lesson and spent the entire time crashing inelegantly to the floor in interesting directions (often accompanied by random squawks and Bad Words). i am definitely the dunce of the class. Blush it's very interesting to be flailing around as the 'at least i'm better than she is' student. i fell over more times yesterday than i have in the last ten years of downhill skiing (which bearing in mind we actually live in a ski resort was pretty good going). needless to say, this morning i am, erm, a tad sore. Blush

anyway, tons to do, which i could really do without, and most of it is beyond my capability, but hey ho, when did that stop anyone, right?

dw-done
