Ok So a new year a new thread.
You know the ropes flying the fledgling way.
Decluttering 15mins at a time in each zone.
Babysteps and missions.

Sunday is renew your spirit day and seeing as today is new years days I hope there aren't too many evil hangovers in existance.

Babystep 1: shine you shine. yes we know this one but do you shine it the fat fairy way? cant remember? check here

And for a treat as it is sunday no mission.

Oh and can i just may 2012 bring you productive decluttering and flying so your houses step closer to those of your dreams and house work no longer be that evil monster that dominates.

ToffeeWhirl · 11/01/2012 10:13

Morning everyone. Have left my list on the other thread, so won't bore you all with it here as well. Am hoping to get lots done today, in spite of having DH and DS1 at home with me. At least the most demanding of them all - DS2 - is at school.

From next week, DH will be going out to work again, so I will be free to Fly without falling over his feet all the time. He has spent the last few months setting up his own business from home, but has been invited to work with someone else (doing the same thing), so is starting Monday.

I'll nip in later for a tea break.

IceColdBitchy · 11/01/2012 10:26

Ah bollocks I am going to switch anti-procrastination day and errand day here and go do some errands which means that I can then stop procrastinating about finances. Which needs a complete overhawl and examination (and paperwork filing Hmm).

have good days

leaves lots of Brews. help yourself.

OP posts:
Flyingoutofcontrol · 11/01/2012 11:28

Right. I'm posting first (so that if DS wakes I don't get caught mid post) and going back to catch up later - so hugs to anyone who needs one, Brew to the permanently tired, Wine to those who need it and Thanks to cheer everyone up.

So far my day has not gone well as I didn't sleep well last night - I'm still sleeping upstairs with DS as it's the only way I can vaguely function during the day as crap sleep is better than no sleep. DH has promised that he'll be better by the weekend (and I think he will) so I am counting the days until Friday night when I plan to open a bottle of wine and sleep in my own bed! However, today I have managed to drop chilli on the floor trying to freeze it (stuff I made yesterday but which was too hot to deal with last night).
I have poured hot coffee all over the worktop - and you don't even want to know how I managed it... suffice to say that I should have drunk some to wake me up first!
DS has fallen off the table that I told him to come down from. He was fine, if a bit Shock and teary - sadly I don't think it will discourage him from climbing! Hmm

However, on the positive side, I have:
S&S ensuite and toilet
Dusted living room
Dusted bedroom
Dusted hall table (need to go back and dust the doors, but they need a damp cloth rather than a duster!)
Wiped all mirrors and pictures (god I love e-cloths! Grin)
Got chicken out of the freezer for dinner tonight
Emptied the DW
Done 3 loads of washing (1 still to go)
WAH job

I think I'm now going to empty a drawer in the desk unit up here and clear it out. I know there is IT stuff in there which DH will need to go through (as god forbid I throw out the "bit" he will need in about 2 days Wink), but I plan to put it in a crate (one of the folding useful ones not a big wooden crate!) and tell DH to sort it tonight - keep or chuck. I will make him be ruthless!!!

Then a trip to the tip before a visit to Homebase to swap the incorrect lightbulbs (we got two packs, checked the top pack, not the bottom and it's the wrong sort Angry) and then... god knows.

Anyway, going to motivate myself... honest!

Hopefully back later tonight, but no guarantees sadly Sad

feetheart · 11/01/2012 11:44

Quick post and run again - RL does not have enough hours in it Confused

Ta da:

  • All up and out
  • Reading with Yr1
  • Co-op for bargains - they have usually just 'stickered' all the reduced stuff by 9.30am so good time for bargains. Today's haul - half-price clementines, half price sausages and half-price beef brisket (no idea how to cook it but think its a slow-cooked joint and fancied a challenge :))
  • Builder round for 3rd quote for extension

Now need to

  • WORK - done a bit but really not feeling very enthusiastic, have no heating and gas men digging, shouting, crashing about, etc outside. NEED TO DO MORE - will go for 10 mins decluttering to warm me up then 15 mins work, repeated a few times and see where I get to....................wish me luck on both counts.
Flyingoutofcontrol · 11/01/2012 12:44

Oh, and if anyone can help with my query here, it would be much appreciated!

BlueEyeshadow · 11/01/2012 13:37

It's finally gone quiet in DS2's room so may be able to get something done in a bit...

Ta da!
Beds stripped
Washing done and on line
Dusting
Swept floors
Played with DS2 and been to the park
Cleared loads of rubble from the lawn and flower beds (left by builders, grr!)

To do:
Ironing
Filing
Remake beds
Mending

IceColdBitchy · 11/01/2012 14:22

Suppose i should post a ta da list:

Banking x3 jobs
clear out car
sort out schedule
deal with ex Confused
school run
2 loads laundry

Just about to wash car and pick up prescription. And i suspect collect ds as it is that time of day.

to do:
wash car outside
pick up prescription
swimming lesson
budget
rest of ds' spellings
empty ds' bin
disinfect ds' bin
take recycling out
another load of washing

curl up in bed and rest hahahaha

Another quiet day both on here and in rl!

Had to take DD back to the doctors and currently her illness list goes as follows:
Conjunctivitis
Croup
Ear infection
Rattly chest
Teething
Sickness and diarrhoea
Refusal to eat
High temperature

I wasn't aware you could have all that going on at once?! So she's finally been given penicillin and paracetamol and I've been instructed to keep an eye on her urine Hmm

So flying list ta da (not much)
Collected new bin Grin
Emptied all bins in the house to new bin GrinGrin
Washed and dried laundry *3, currently doing towels

I'll probably be back later when DD won't sleep!

IceColdBitchy · 11/01/2012 19:00

List dump:

Banking x3 jobs
clear out car
sort out schedule
deal with ex Confused
school run
2 loads laundry
wash car outside
pick up prescription
swimming lesson
budget
rest of ds' spellings
empty ds' bin
disinfect ds' bin
take recycling out
another load of washing

Know what rest of list can wait. I have hot water bottle. I have a bed. I am in pjs. I have a new book which is interesting. Early night I think.

Sorry Ive not been on much over the last couple of days, Ive just not been very motivated at all. Ive been doing the everyday stuff, but not much else im afraid.

Having a bad couple of days, last night kids chucked eggs at my house, Also found out its going to be at least another 4 weeks before I can move into another house I have been offered (I live in council, but moving to a much nicer area) and today my car broke down nearly (well a light came on and it stalled, but I managed to drive it home. Have to take it to the garage tomorrow, fingers crossed I get there OK, but I am in the AA so whats the worse that can happen?) So feeling rather down and just want to go to bed and start this week again. For now though I'll keep battling on.

Not going to do a list for today, but here's tomorrows.

-wipe down kids table twice
-wipe down kitchen
-wipe down bathroom
-take car to garage
-ironing

Flyingoutofcontrol · 11/01/2012 20:41

Sleep well to everyone having an early night! I was planning one but Midsomer Murders is on TV so decided to watch that instead.

So in addition to my earlier list I didn't get any drawers tidied as DS started stirring so I ended up patting him back to sleep and then gave up on the tidying as it was in the room across from his. I did do a bit more of my control journal so time wasn't all wasted.

We did a trip out to Dunelm and I got a new set of bathmats for the upstairs bathroom as the mats in there are getting tatty and I also found a Home Bargins so I have cleaning stuff that was ridiculously cheap!

Still got to run the mop around the kitchen at the next ad-break as dinner created a bit of spatter Blush but twas very nice.

Hope you all have a good evening!

droitwichmummy · 11/01/2012 20:49

Sorry you are having a rough time notvery. Give yourself a break and an early night.

Been quite productive since getting home from work so a ta da list is in order:
WM on
DW on but needs unloading
Rubbish put out
Everyone fed
DS bathed
Washing put away

Still to do
Ironing
Washing on airer
Empty DW
lunches
DS to bed
Bed at civilised hour

swanthingafteranother · 11/01/2012 22:10

despite it being so cosy and quiet on this lovely thread, I still can't remember any one's news, sorry, except I think everyone is suffering in one way or another

ice I will join you in laptopping from the haven of the duvet
notvery how horrible about the eggs, difficult to remember they are just children when they do something so threatening, hope move goes through soooN. aA is good back up isn't it.
toffee I like readng monster thread - willgo there anon
madwoman/outofbody I'mreally missing that snowed in feeling this winter, it all feels quite wrongly springlike here, I spied several bulbs coming up and my begonias are still alive too Shock Hope dh respects your personal space.
lauren have you checked dd's iron levels, just in case? You are being very brave to cope with so much.
blue I've given up on Edwin, the hat looks super ridiculous, and I can't be bothered to watch it after missing so much esp as Dh keeps saying in the most irritating way, She is really isn't attractive is she [whoever she is] Fgs it's Dickens not Jackie Collins...

SC thinking of you a lot, hope you are managing

My day has been v.busy. Startedoff with me leaping out of bed to give Ds1 his PE kit (I hung it on the front door no less] but he Still Forgot It, as being disorganised me I didn't have my glasses on to spot it was still hanging there. Cue v skewered morning what with the recycling, dr appt, and no car. Still I DELIVEREDIT being a deluded mum, and desperate for ds to take exercise. Lucky really as he got a detention for leaving his science book behind and failed his science test too...so was quite grateful when his PE kit turned upShock

Dr has referred me for CBT to deal with anxiety/driving probs general seizing up but still need to take thyroid test in Feb again. I am pleased with this, knot of anxiety has really taken hold of late, although was seemingly always there, muffled by other RL pleasures

AND I did lots of cleaning/gardening today in anticipation of conservatory man, except he couldn't come in th end as stuck in Sevenoaks, so that was vg ood.

done
no master bedroom stuff/hoovering
tidied rest of house very nicely
swept terraces x 2
cleaned up several alien cat messes Angry from lawn
sorted playroom, set up sewing table YAY
recycling
PE kit
Beavers helping
Brownies pickup
walking x 3 lots
Tesco easy supper for everyone at 5.30 baked pots etc
ds1 - supervised violin and trombone
chatting

Nettie v impressed by governor duties!

justonemorejingle · 11/01/2012 23:07

No time to read all, but had to scoot up to lauren
Sounds like my dd used to be. The last croupy thing she had (it always started with just a cold) involved all those things except the diarroeah.

She was ill for pretty much 6 weeks, on and off. High temperatures, falling asleep all over the house, not eating (she basically lived on coca cola, we were desperate)
In that time she got croup, tonsillitis, terrible headaches and rounded it all up with a lovely sinus infection (that was the worst of all)

In that time she had antibiotics, then steroids, then a ventolin trial to check if it was asthma, then penicillin. NIGHTMARE!!!

So although I sound like a harbinger of doom I'm trying to cheer you up and say that yes, unfortunately some children probably can get lots of things at the same time. I was worried out of my mind and exhausted by the end of it, but it was all fine in the end.

It amazed me how little nutrition a child can survive on (and she didn't get dehydrated) when they're ill, and for how long they can go without eating a proper meal!

Just trying to stop you from worrying.

Right. Going To Bed.

PositiveAttitude · 12/01/2012 06:09

Just flying past to give you all a and free ((hugs)) for those with poorly DCs or having a difficult time right now.

I am having a super-stupidly busy week. Trying to catch up at 3 jobs from Christmas and being away last week AND preparing for 2 weeks away from this weekend. MAD!!!
ANyway, its all going surprisingly well so far.
Today I am "off" work, but have a mountain of paperwork to do at home and lots to sort out for next week, bills to pay and plans to make for the DCs who are all going to be here "home alone" (before anyone calls SS eldest is 20, youngest is 14, so all ok!)

I probably wont have too much time for MN now until I return in February, so I will come and hunt you all down then.

Have fun. Grin

CheerfulYank · 12/01/2012 06:17

Hi Positive ! Good luck with everything!

All that's on my list for today is to make it through the day.

And possibly pack up all the Christmas stuff. Blush

PositiveAttitude · 12/01/2012 06:21

Hi Cheerful. Hope you get through the day!!! Hmm Hope it gets better!!

Lifebeginsatforty · 12/01/2012 06:25

Good luck PA. Cheerful Christmas decorations aren't even on my list until tomorrow!

Lifebeginsatforty · 12/01/2012 06:57

Toffee your posts on the monster thread are great. I can't keep up with the thread at all but you sound so positive and motivating, and you do explain things clearly.
