swim
what's for dinner

laurenamium · 10/01/2012 02:44

Everyone being sensible with an early night? Wish I bloody was! DD has been screaming since 10 pretty much constantly Sad (she's quietish now just wingeing in her sleep on top of me) and won't let me put her down, it gunna be a long night!!

LinzerTorte · 10/01/2012 05:00

Oh no, poor DD lauren - and poor you. Hope you got some sleep eventually.

Well done on the monster round-up Toffee; I can't keep track of who's who on that thread.

Ooh, whereabouts did you live Lifebegins? We're in Bad en (one word, obviously) and love it here. What took you to Austria?

Glad you're feeling better, Bitchy.

Flying Well done on the 34 fling boogie. I need to find room in a cupboard for my slow cooker as it's getting rather dusty out on the counter.

Despite having an unexpected 1.5 hours to myself yesterday afternoon while all three DC were at a friend's, I didn't manage to get a huge amount done as I was having an Easily Distracted day. My timer did help, however, so I'll have to make more use of it today.

CheerfulYank · 10/01/2012 05:16

I'm still here. Sick.

Trying to declutter a bit though.

Flyingoutofcontrol · 10/01/2012 06:13

Oh Cheerful hope you feel better soon, and laure hope you got some sleep.

Well, I slept upstairs beside DS last night (had weird dreams, but that's a whole other thread Wink) and he slept through!!! but we stuck the heating on for about 45 mins at 2am (as it's been 2.30-3am when he's been waking) so do wonder if the poor soul was just cold? It won't last, but I did get a decent sleep barring the dreams.

Will list later on (assuming DS naps so I can do MNetting my WAH jab) as my day will also depend on whether DH is going to work after his early sick day yesterday. If he does, I'll be bloody furious and if he doesn't, he'll be in the way Grin.

Right off to S&S and shower.

coostoonettle · 10/01/2012 07:21

justonemorejingle · 10/01/2012 07:58

Hi Lauren, you really have my sympathies. We've had nights like that with croup. Also she would seem to bet getting better in the day and then suddenly deteriorate at night.
When dd2 was born we had 2 nights where literally it was as if the children had agreed to take it in turns. As soon as one settled, and I lay in bed then other one started, and so on, all night! It could have been a comedy sketch, but it wasn't funny at the time!

Bitchy sorry to read upthread about your being down. You have a lot on your shoulders, and seem to have very high expectations of yourself... Any chance you could lower your standards a bit? Sleep deprivation is the source of all evil, imo, everything seems unsormountable when you are sleep deprived.

But if I where you? I would have done the same! Stay up all night tidying until it was acceptable for me to live in, but then after that rest!!!

Linzer sorry, I couldn't remember where you said you lived previously, should have remembered it was Vienna!

Toffee your efforts on the other thread are heroic. I just lurk and run!

Waves to all!

swanthingafteranother · 10/01/2012 09:25

ds2 ill today with upset stomach, and I feel pretty bleugh, aching arms and legs, hands and feet Confused was that the hoovering yesterday? Taken lemsip, and continuing with the magic Kelp tablets
so no library slot today at school.

I went to bed v.early yesterday leavng Dh in charge of bedtime, consequently slept very badly and woke at 3am this morning for a spell Hmm Still, at least I'm nnot sleep deprived now! We also skipped both Scouts and Ballet yest, although I did post the fees for ballet, so that's something..Also pre-made supper macaroni cheese and gammon affair felt v. organised and easy.

So much to do, and can't face any of it! Grin Also entertain ds2 in some fashion so he doesn't jst spend today in front of the box.

goals
breakfast table
enormous pile of ironing
find magic washing machine mender [doubtful]
ring up about car, but I can't face collecting it...miles away...PAY
recycling in box
rubbish out
hoover our bedroom centre of room [pathetic attempt] it's been severalweeks now snce it was hoovered Blush
sweep porch and back yard
fill in form for Dr about mental state...appt tomorrow...am hoping it is underactive thyroid but going through the steps..

done
two kids with school with homework, exhortations and reminders. Dd's first piano lesson today after Athletics after school, complicated arrangments to extract from Athletics. She did piano practice yesterday, almost at end of beginner's book without taking a single lesson Shock
write down ds's Visa no so he can pay for the car.

IceColdBitchy · 10/01/2012 10:00

Today i am mostly feeling cold or hot or cold. can't make my mind up about anything other then Ouch. More coffee is needed. Oh and happy to be seeing the doc in a bit. Perhaps then i might start to feel a bit better.

lauren Brew it is hard be kind to yourself, and remember sometimes counting to ten just isnt enough especially when shooving the numbers somewhere nasty sounds more appealing then counting them Just do what is essential and nothing else today.

OP posts:
Flyingoutofcontrol · 10/01/2012 11:26

Right folks.

So far I've done:
WAH job
Dinner into slow cooker (although MNet consensus is that I have too much liquid Hmm )
Hoovered
Cleaned kitchen
Emptied DW
Sorted out shredding from office
Found a folder for my control journal and put dividers in it along with my detailed cleaning lists that I printed weeks ago.

Now I'm going to type an emergency contacts list up so I have numbers to hand if the world ends Grin

Back tonight to update, but I hope you all feel better soon.

Lifebeginsatforty · 10/01/2012 12:29

Ta da:

DW
Breakfast cleared
DC dressed
2nd package taken to post office
Fortnum and Mason phoned about hamper delivered to someone who no longer lives here. (Unfortunately, they didn't want to let us keep it Sad, but as it's the 2nd year in a row, they will be giving us a gift voucher Smile)
Clarks called about boots that leak as soon as they go out in the rain Angry
Lakeland order done
New train track built for DC (takes ages, but good fun)

Hmm, not a lot of flying, but being home with both toddlers sort of stops that. About to sort lunch and put on some laundry.

To do:

Washing
Put away dry clothes
Sort lunch
Prep dinner
Start Ocado order
Get DC out for fresh air
Find slip for parcel that arrived two weeks ago, and we completely forgot we had to collect Blush

Will be lucky to get through that. Depends on DD's mood after booster jabs this morning.

Lifebeginsatforty · 10/01/2012 12:36

Flying do you really think that the phone lines will still be up if the world ends? Wink

Ok must get off here and go and get lunch.

LinzerTorte · 10/01/2012 12:50

One English lesson down (with six very restless children), one to go. The house is still far more of a mess than I'd like, but I don't seem to have time for much in the way of decluttering or tidying on top of my routines. In fact, I struggle to get much more than half my morning routine done - I manage quite well until my mid-morning coffee, but then seem to lose momentum. My morning routine does actually include hotspots and a room rescue, but I never seem to get that far. Blush

lauren Hope you're able to get some rest at some point today and perhaps manage an early night tonight.

justonemore No worries; at least you didn't confuse Austria and Australia (it has been known). Wink

swanthingafteranother · 10/01/2012 13:03

done
tidied kitchen
sink, dw, reload, worktops, breakfast
rescued dcs' rooms, beds
recycling
food compost
rubbish out
put some veg from veg box in fridge (rest still on doorstep)

put away washing

watched Cars2 with ds2 as I wsa feelling groggy anyway

now feelng a bit more momentum but that is spoilt by stepping on hoover plug in stockinged feet OUCH

rang builder about drain from washer (that's the only reason I tidied the kitchen really Blush he may appear at any moment

now need to entertain ds2 in some non-telly related fashion Confused

swanthingafteranother · 10/01/2012 13:05

also put hoover in our bedroom in an optimistic sort of way (at very top of the house so that is an effort in itself)

IceColdBitchy · 10/01/2012 13:07

List dump:

school run
move furniture
lift, turn and relay rug
return furniture
laundry
dentist
Docs
Pead
Sort out ds' training kit
ds to training
ds' kit in wash
ds to bed at reasonable time
check length of trousers again, alter if necessary
sort out wardrobe where i accidentally chucked the water today - will use as an excuse for considering decluttering.
write and send 2 birthday cards
write last thank you note
Find ds' tooth brush or replace replaced in end. other new one will go in cupboard when found.

Oh and aparently i have even reason to be feeling like crap and now have strong antibiotics Grin So hopefully i shall be bouncing about and annoying everyone properly again in a few days. until then i am allowed to let myself feel ill. So i feel the naughty corner bar will be decked out with comfy cushions, duvets and a dvd tonight. Come join me. (although it is permitted to avoid me in my germy state Wink)

OP posts:
BlueEyeshadow · 10/01/2012 13:22

Ta da!
Washing done and dry
One clean load put away
Entertained DS2 (We also have a train track across the sitting room floor, Lifebegins ...)
Cooked lunch and washed up
Swept floor x loads
Had to retrieve DS2's train from under the bookcase so removed loads of other junk and swept up all the dust... Blush

DH was here this morning and has done some shopping and mended the boys' coat hooks too.

To do
Dry up lunch stuff
Clean cooker
What's for dinner for boys?
Friend visiting this afternoon

Bitchy - hope the ABs kick in soon.
Swan - hope you feel better soon too.

notveryinventive · 10/01/2012 13:32

Hi Everyone

I didnt get chance to come back on here last night. My positivity that I had in the morning waned a bit by lunchtime and it hasnt come back yet Sad Im hoping that if I get on and do something now before I have to pick DS up from school I will feel a bit better.

Anyway today my list so far is

  • wipe down kids table twice done once
  • wipe down kitchen sides and sink
  • Wipe Bathroom done
  • pop to town done
  • 15 min declutter of small cupboards in Living room
  • Ironing

Speak to you all later

outofbodyexperience · 10/01/2012 17:46

Morning all.
Toffee, kudos to you for still doing battle with the monster thread, I tried to have a look at it a couple of days ago and it made my eyes bleed. I haven't been back...
Bitchy - stop and rest! (stern) tsk. Hope your mess kick in and you pick up. I had sleep last night, and I feel very odd! Sending the sleep fairy your way, too x

Right. My day is happening around me tbh. Last night they cancelled the first of my 'double - booked' appointments (a gym course of twenty sessions) because there weren't enough registrants. Then this morning, the second of the double bookings (that I had changed the time for so that I could go to both) was cancelled as the advisor was off sick. I don't know why I bother getting stressed tbh. Added to that, dh is working from home as we had a snowfall last night on top of sheet ice after a heavy melt yesterday, and they've closed the highway so he can't get into town. So I'm facing around as the house is so small I can't get away from him.

That said, the kitchen is spotless as a result. I'm pondering ironing, as it's quiet, but I do have a few jobs to do in town. These are also complicated by him being here, because he's loaned my 4wd car to his dad for the day, as they are off skiing.

So I'm going to have a cup of tea and a piece of toast, and ponder life.

Today:
Dw - done
Wm - done
Kitchen wipe down and put away - done
Ironing
Grocery shopping
Budget
Dd2 dance
Volunteer thingy
Brownies stuff

And find out what the baby step is, because I forgot to look and so haven't done it yet. Hopefully it wasn't something that needed doing at the crack of sparrows...

laurenamium · 10/01/2012 21:05

Argh I just wrote a post and it's vanished! No time to re write so I'll be back in the morning!

BlueEyeshadow · 10/01/2012 21:23

Was hoping to watch Edwin Drood but DS2 has been popping up out of bed like a jack in the box all evening... DS1 had disturbed sleep with the pox, but he did at least go to sleep in the first place!

Crossed off this afternoon's list, and blogged this evening.

Makingchanges · 10/01/2012 22:57

I'm sorry, I'm a bad fly friend. My new job is driving me mad, I have no spare time, I'm tired and DH has gone abroad with his job. I'm just here to say hope you are all well and everything is good. I will return when things get anywhere near normal.
