And for a treat as it is sunday no mission.

Oh and can i just may 2012 bring you productive decluttering and flying so your houses step closer to those of your dreams and house work no longer be that evil monster that dominates.

School run time craziness Gooooooooooo Hmm

OP posts:
notveryinventive · 06/01/2012 15:58

Not been on this thread today so here goes:

  • wipe down kids table twice done once
  • wipe down kitchen sides and sink
  • Wipe Bathroom done
  • Ironing erm not done again, havent had time with school runs and bottom two tasks, got all day tomorrow though
  • Weekly shop, plus get my blood taken done
  • have an appointment to get my nails done done

Oooh I have done everything, going out in a bit to DH's friends and I simply refuse to do the ironing on a night, but do have all afternoon tomorrow so will catch up with it then.

I love the hoarding programs because it shows me that actually my house isnt that bad, but on the other hand it does show my what may happen if I dont do anything about it. I know you were talking about it a while ago, but Ive just seen it.

Anyway All but one and a half things done today, Im not having a good day anyway with anything. Cant find the motivation, but tomorrow's a new day and all that.

Will be back later no doubt.

ToffeeWhirl · 06/01/2012 16:07

Where and what are these hoarding programmes? I want to see them too. I did watch the one at Christmas - anyone else see that? It was sad, but ultimately uplifting too (the hoarder was helped by a local man, who enlisted the help of various neighbours, and eventually he accepted that he needed psychological help, not just storage solutions).

DS2 is with his childminder, so I don't have to do the school run today Smile. Am tackling the household budget, so I can stay sitting down. Am also trying to defrost a lump of spaghetti bolognese sauce. You are meant to defrost in the fridge but, in my experience, it never bloody defrosts. So it is still a lump of ice. Grr. Have put it in cold water now in the hope that that works. Otherwise, it'll be baked potatoes and beans tonight.

notveryinventive · 06/01/2012 16:13

House of Grime was one. It was about residential areas that were gross, but it was usually down to hoarding things.

Flyingoutofcontrol · 06/01/2012 20:35

Just popping on to say na'night...

I really live the highlife - bed at 8.30pm

outofbodyexperience · 06/01/2012 20:45

morning all. (well, to be honest, it is just after lunch, but i haven't had mine yet!)
back from vet opthalmologist and dog all fine. cone of shame off, and just some anti-inflammatory eye drops as the area around the sutures is still a bit raised and red. but all good. she is delighted that she is no longer a bucket-head, and so is the other dog, who has spent the whole week avoiding her.

dh is also thrilled that she no longer has a bucket, as it has been scraping fresh paint from our newly-decorated walls so he's going to have to try and repair it all this w/e. it lasted about a month. Grin

so, i've got rid of everyone to ski, and am setting myself up for 20 mins of mn whilst i lunch, and then i have a glorious admin afternoon ahead of me instead of flying, but i'm starting to get a bit panicky in the back of my head about a few things, so need to clear them :

send off job app (deadline in 3 hours)
brownies budget and meeting plan
reschedule stuff for 17th triple booking
reschedule stuff for 10th
board meeting planning
post info on not for profit website and fb page for next week's activities
other budget

then the town lantern parade with ds1
then cook chinese food? (ds1 is refusing to eat. i am not yet in a flap, but will be soon. he seems to have linked his day of throwing up to food in some way, so need to break that cycle am also skint, and convinced that msg from the take-away is really what he needs)

mmm. what a lovely afternoon. if i'm still on here after 9.15 your time, feel free to tell me i'm on the wrong page, and will never get a job, or keep all my balls in the air... Blush

notveryinventive · 06/01/2012 21:11

Evening everyone

  • wipe down kids table twice done
  • wipe down kitchen sides and sink done
  • Wipe Bathroom done
  • Ironing erm not done again, havent had time with school runs and bottom two tasks, got all day tomorrow though
  • Weekly shop, plus get my blood taken done
  • have an appointment to get my nails done done

Tomorrows list

  • wipe down kids table twice
  • wipe down kitchen sides and sink
  • Wipe Bathroom
  • Ironing

IceColdBitchy · 07/01/2012 00:02

Lifebeginsatforty · 07/01/2012 00:12

Me too Envy Bitchy and Outofbody. Not really been since fell pregnant with DD (now 3). Bit afraid I might have totally lost my nerve, but hoping I might get out there in a month or so. Maybe [really hopeful emoticom]

Did quite a lot of flying today but no longer in fit state to list it. Waaaay past my bedatadecenthourtime.
Good night all

swanthingafteranother · 07/01/2012 00:23

outofbody that sounds all very mysterious and business like [scratches head thoughtfully] glad dog better, and ski-ing too! [not dog of course]

Ice I'm fed up too, unfortunately can't find anyone to blame at this time of night Wink What a tiring day.

Ah well, now that washing machine has sprung a leak (pump? hose?] I shall have to do some ironing tomorrow

Busy morning ahead. Dh has thoughtfully pointed out that Ds1 won't be able to carry both a trombone and a violin to music school, so it is my duty to escort him there first thing...I'm sure he'll manage Hmm Dd has done no viollin practice whatsoever; at least I've found her music bag under the sofa.

No date night here either, but we finally have clean sheets and a clearish floor in the loft. Blue clearing loft cannot be underestimated as a great success.
Nettie hope cat behaviour improves and dh gets bored of his x box. what a horrid start this morning.
Toffee you are being amazing on the other thread, so authoritative and kind. It really reminds one of the principles of flying.

IceColdBitchy · 07/01/2012 00:25

slightlycrinkled has pm'ed and asked me to convey her appologies as she is likely to be abscent for the foreseeable future due to a breavement. She had hoped to help toffee with the monster thread.

I have told her not to worry about either thread and she will be welcome when she feels she wished to return.

SC if you happen to read this the fledgings are sending you our thoughts and condolences.

OP posts:
ToffeeWhirl · 07/01/2012 01:56

So sorry to hear about SC's bereavement Sad. Thanks for letting us know, Bitchy.

Thinking of you, SC.

Honu · 07/01/2012 04:26

Woke up an hour ago, can't sleep, have tidied a kitchen w/s then looked at all the stuff that has no home and have no idea what to do with it, so decided to come on mn instead. Flylady says 'When you don't have a place for things because your useful storage is occupied by clutter, that's when your stuff is homeless'. Yep, she's nailed it!
Has anyone found a timer that vibrates rather than shouts? I find that waiting for the noise mine makes stresses me and isn't really useable at 4am. Flylady sells one but it seems rather extreme to send all the way to the US to get one.

BlackCatLookingForwardToSpring · 07/01/2012 04:37

Morning fellow Flyers, (I am from the baby steps snow thread).
I too am up cause I can't sleep. Am wondering about doing a bit of tidying but not sure if I CBA as it's so early!

BlackCatLookingForwardToSpring · 07/01/2012 04:58

Have decided to try and get some more sleep, been up since 2.30 am! Hmm

elliepac · 07/01/2012 07:05

Sorry i have been awol but this week has been manic and ended up with poorly elliepac and a couple of days off work.

I will be back later but i just wanted to say to sc, i am so sorry to hear of your bereavement and that i am thinking of you and your family at this sad time.

LinzerTorte · 07/01/2012 08:16

Morning all,

I tried to post yesterday morning but it wouldn't let me for some reason (Internet connection rather than MN, I think). I did save the post but it's a bit out of date now and wasn't particularly scintillating in the first place, so don't think I'll bother posting it. Grin

Bitchy Thanks for letting us know about SC. I was in touch with her in the night as neither of us could sleep - I forgot to turn the heating off when I went to bed and was so hot in the night that I thought I was coming down with something, until I discovered that the radiator was on at full blast. Blush

DD2 also woke up several times in the night crying, which didn't help either (I spent quite a while squeezed into bed with her and DD1). I think it's probably due to worms, so DH has gone to the chemist to see if he can get an emergency prescription for her until the doctor opens on Monday.

Must go and have a shower now - I managed to sleep until 8.30 am until DH woke me to ask me to write a shopping list!

coostoonettle · 07/01/2012 08:41

Good Morning Everyone.

I'll pm sc thinking of her for sure! Sad

Well this morning has been cat pee morning, cleaning and collecting a sample! Just have to convince dh to take sample to vets!

Date night last night consisted of me going straight to bed soon as dc went and dh xboxing to his hearts content!

I'm working today so off to try and braise beef for dinner before getting ready for work.

Leaving dc undressed for dh to sort!

Right! have lovely days better getting moving expecting miracles at work today! :-)

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 07/01/2012 10:47

Morning all,

Sorry to hear about SC, I will pm too.

Our date night consisted of letting the DCs stay up till 9, then getting a pizza in and collapsing on the sofa. Not sone much this morning either, DH went to work at 8.30, I stayed in bed with the TV till after 9 (I was having a good old browse of Ceefax as I am feeling a bit sad that our terrestrial telly is about to disappear, think we are one of the last areas still left with it).

I'm struggling a bit with the detailed Flying still, my basic routines are good but I seem to lack the self discipline to go that last step. Decluttering has reached that stage where I've done a lot but there is still residual clutter but it's the harder to get rid of stuff. I just stare at it and walk away quite often. Usually to the computer and waste the time on MN Blush. I sometimes think we need to relocate our computer to a less accessible part of the house, it is right outside the kitchen door and always there beckoning as I walk past.

BlueEyeshadow · 07/01/2012 11:59

Thinking of you SC.

The pile of junk from the loft is now further reduced as some has gone via freegle and DH has been to the tip. Yay!

Loads more to do this afternoon:
Mending
Taking stuff to shed
Painting plaster
Sorting which baby stuff needs to go back in the loft and which to declutter
Check date of next NCT sale
Label loft stuff so can find it again!

WHoKnows - that sounds like me and clutter too! Our computer is upstairs so becomes a refuge when I need to go and hide like now .

swanthingafteranother · 07/01/2012 12:00

SC thinking of you.

Just lost post, and ds2 hovering demanding Superstar racing. Busy morning, lots of rushing back and forth.

laurenamium · 07/01/2012 13:58

Thinking of you sc Sad

Well this morning I ended up in hospital outpatients, DD has conjunctivitis and can't open her eyes so we've got eye cream and eye wash which is interesting, it also means I'm off work until Thursday so hoping to get lots done!!

Have a meeting with a parent this afternoon for potential new mindee so ta da list looks like:
Hoover
Wash up/dry
Decluttered my bedroom
Hospital trip (no doctors open I'm not a drama queen!)

To do:
Pick up dog poo out back and front
Photocopy welcome pack
Cuddle DD lots
Wash kitchen floor

I'll try BBL!! Grin

IceColdBitchy · 07/01/2012 14:27

Hello everyone. Thank you so much for your very kind messages and posts which are really, really appreciated. Don't want to hi-jack the thread but I started off trying to answer each of your messages individually but unfortunately I've run out of time for today as still need to make lots of calls so I've decided to post here after all to say a collective "thank you".

As I've said to some of you, my mother was 85 and in good health and she died very unexpectedly but very peacefully in her armchair. It's a shock but we are so grateful that she didn't suffer and didn't even have to go in to hospital or lose her independence - something she would have loathed. So in a way, we have a lot to be grateful for.

Take care everyone and see you back on the February thread if not before and thank you again for your lovely messages which have really helped.

Slightlycrinkledxmastocking · 07/01/2012 15:16

Oh and just to put thread back on proper footing ... I can testify to the benefits of Flying when there is a crisis. Have changed the sheets today as dictated by my cj and it's very helpful to have a routine to get you through the tough times.

So, as you were everyone and shine those sinks ....
