Hello again everyone! This is the new thread for us as the old one was getting a bit unmanageable.

I didn't get long on the sofa bessie as a friend from abroad phoned and then another friend appeared at the door Grin

Worktops are cleaned again now. Dishwasher is on again. Another 2 loads of washing have been done. Ds has been asked to tidy up all the Transformers & Power Rangers & jigsaws and board games he has managed to strew across the kitchen floor. I have half hot spotted the kitchen table.

Now just waiting for dd and dh to be dropped off/come home so I can eat tea with them

bessie I am glad you asked Gossip what madron is. I have never heard of it but live in a very culturally bland neighbourhood so thought maybe everyone except me knew what it was.

Educate me please Gossip and whatever it is I hope you enjoy it.

I found this Is this what you are celebrating Gossip? Are you a real witch? Do tell me more - I am nosey intrigued now.

AutumnHues · 22/09/2011 19:29

I am also interested to find out more about Madron. You don't live near pendle do you?

Carrots going back to your mountains, We can see the Lake district mountains in the distance from near our Asda store.

Carrotsandcelery · 22/09/2011 20:05

Autumn we went to the Lake District for the first time this summer and it was beautiful. Even the dcs regularly commented on how beautiful it was and we live in one of the most beautiful areas ourselves so you would think they would start to take it for granted.

I can't see any snow though thank goodness. I used to love it but I am still traumatised after last year.

GossipWitch · 22/09/2011 20:31

Sorry to keep you all waiting, yes Madron is a pagan festival and yes I am a practising witch, or wiccan, I live in the east midlands, nowhere near Pendle though, I'd love to live near Stone Henge though.

AutumnHues · 22/09/2011 20:43

What do you do then?
I only mentioned pendle cause I've heard of it on tele and it had something to do with witches?

AutumnHues · 22/09/2011 20:50

Carrots The Lakes is lovely but we don't get there very often.
Scotland looks nice too. I have only seen the pretty bits on tele. Once I went to Edingborough(sorry if miss spelt) was a very long time a go.

GossipWitch · 22/09/2011 21:01

I mainly celebrate the festivals, occasionally do spells and rituals but I do try and live a pagan way of life, recycle, eco friendly cleaners, admire nature, and try not to leave to much of an impact on the earth.

GossipWitch · 22/09/2011 21:01

Says me who would be very lost without modern technology.

Carrotsandcelery · 22/09/2011 21:14

Wow Gossip- how did you get into it?

There is a computer analyst in our village who is also a practising witch. (the combination always makes me Confused) She makes toiletries that are eco friendly, not tested on animals etc which I use regularly and are lovely.

Are there many practising witches around?

OP posts:
GossipWitch · 22/09/2011 21:23

well I know quite a few in my area but not many people would be able to pick out a witch if they saw one tbh, we try to keep things quiet due to some peoples ignorance beliefs about witches. So I should imagine there are more than you think in your area :) I also know a wiccan who's a taxi driver and drives a london cab and one who's choice of car is a range rover, lol.

GossipWitch · 22/09/2011 21:30

Oh and I got into it when I was younger, I pinched my mums tarot cards when I was 13 and a mag I used to read did spells of the week, which I used to do as well, however I did get confirmed as catholic at 15 for a st christopher necklace, shallow I know. but I went back to wiccan about 7 years ago. Started off with a book of spells, as you do.

shouldbeelswhere · 22/09/2011 21:32

High everyone, just caught up. whew ironing done and now me time. Sorry to hear about poorly people and snow (even if it is a way away!) Hope you're feeling better gossip.

carrots what happens when you finish the baby steps? what then? Not sure I'm ready to let this go even though I'm only on day 27. my sink is still shining! Haven't done any decluttering, just the usual day to day maintainence and it feels like loads and a massive effort. I've been getting up at 6.30am each day and I'm bushed and ratty.

Carrotsandcelery · 22/09/2011 21:34

Fascinating. What is the purpose of a spell? Do you mind the 20 questions? I will stop if you do.

OP posts:
Carrotsandcelery · 22/09/2011 21:42

Hi should - there are many options when you finish the babysteps. You can start getting into zone cleaning, following the zone cleaning lists on the website for example.

If you have not decluttered fully though then that might be a bit of a leap.

I think the majority on this thread felt they weren't ready for that yet and didn't want to be overwhelmed or put off, so we decided to spend this month bedding in the babystep routines and continuing to declutter. A few of us are also adding in a home blessing hour and bessie has devised her own zone cleaning in a way that works for her and her household. I don't think we want to be too prescriptive.

We are also just keeping each other motivated by posting our lists, giving each other ideas and keeping each other going.

What do you want to do when you finish the babysteps?

I was tempted to go right back to the beginning and do them all over again Shock

OP posts:
GossipWitch · 22/09/2011 21:50

Carrots, its basically what you want from a spell tbh, my favourite is a broken heart spell, (coincidence I know) you basically imagine all the bad stuff and negative feelings from the old relationship as black stuff going into a chopped apple then you put the apple out of reach of kiddies, and leave it to rot. when its rotten flush it and all those negative feelings and heart ache will flush away with it. Its like mind over matter but with tools iykwim, but you cant do anything against free will, it wont work. And you also get a bit of karmic justice too, which is probably why I've got this cold/sinus thing as soon as I ended it with ex, (I'm thinking he may be cut up a bit by this tbh).

shouldbeelswhere · 22/09/2011 21:52

yes that's a thought, though they are very slow to start. I've pretty much decluttered - big exceptions to that are the loft, shed and the garage. I guess 15mins a day might help there plus I'm selling at a NCT sale soon so that should help.

I just returned 3 huge bags of clothes to my friend who kindly lent them to me now DD has outgrown them so horray they're gone. I don't suppose she was too happy to find those on her door step when she got in from work!

shouldbeelswhere · 22/09/2011 21:53

sorry gossip didn't mean to x

Carrotsandcelery · 22/09/2011 22:10

I like the sound of that Gossip - I hope you have an apple rotting somewhere. I totally believe in Karmic justice although I don't believe ending an unhealthy relationship is something that would bring you bad Karma. I suppose it depends how you did it though.

should I think there is an element of decluttering that is ongoing. Unless we keep doing it then we will end up back where we started. I think the deep down declutter will eventually be done though if we keep at it.

OP posts:
GossipWitch · 22/09/2011 22:16

I think this is the perfect time of year of getting rid of the old and bringing in the new (from a pagan point of view Wink am I converting you all yet lol) I think the de-cluttering is a great idea I'm going to be doing a lot more of it now that I have friday nights back, once I can peel myself from the laptop that is.

bessie26 · 23/09/2011 00:33

Hahaha carrots saying that I've devised a zone system makes it sound like I've put some real thought into it, when in reality I'm just fire-fighting! It does seem to be working quite well for now though, perhaps I'll try doing the "proper" zones next month...

Am loving the witchy spells & karma gossip although I am slightly disappointed you haven't shared any spells to help us fly! Grin

I think I spoke too soon about the DDs being ok. I've been up with DD2 3 times already, and DD1 has been making funny noises in her sleep! One good thing about them both being poorly is that I won't be taking them to their usual Friday morning music class, so no mad dash to get us all out if the house by 930 Grin

GossipWitch · 23/09/2011 07:48

I've got a school run to do, i dont think ds2 wioll be going though :( he's got the minging cold too. Oh and I luuurrrvvveee my shower.

AngelDog · 23/09/2011 09:03

Ugh. I was up half the night with DS and now I'm bleary and half asleep.

DS is shouty, whiney, hyper and demanding constant attention. Hmm

Sympathies to everyone else too with illness/tiredness.

I need a few prods today I think. I suspect I shan't get much done - I feel a nap coming on later. Grin

Off to wash up the breakfast things now.

AutumnHues · 23/09/2011 09:28

I also had a disturbed night last night, partly dd grizzling and partly dh snoring, moving aboutAngry.

Angel would you like a bar of chocolate when I go shopping today?Grin

I think I have a bit of a cold, I keep sneezing. Ds has had one this week.

I need to go and get a shower.

Gossip Can you do a spell to stop me procrastinating on MN all day?Wink

AngelDog · 23/09/2011 09:46

Thanks, Autumn, I might take you up on the offer!

I've already been eating ginger biscuits and jelly babies. Blush

I'm feeling a bit more human now. Off for a shower now too. I can't wait for DS's teeth to finish coming through!

I've washed up and loaded the washing machine so that's a start, as well as playing with DS's train set.
