Hello again everyone! This is the new thread for us as the old one was getting a bit unmanageable.

OP posts:
LittleMissProcrastinator · 09/09/2011 15:33

Hi all, You have all been very busy!Grin well done!

I have been to see doctor and I have anaemia which is why I have been getting tired easily. I have got some Iron tablets which should help to improve things.
I am going to carry on with babysteps but I'm Not going too push myself till I'm feeling better. (will make sure I rest plenty between any jobs).
I don't want my house to descend into chaos but on the other hand I have to put my health first so will take things slowly.Smile

Today I have done:
Shower, get dressed
do shopping list
go shopping
hoover up
lunch
go to doctors.

shouldbeelswhere · 09/09/2011 17:11

well done littleMiss the fact that you have done anything when you feel so tired with the anaemia is fab. Did your Dr say why you're anaemic? Is it something that can avoided? Are you ok with the diagnosis, is it what you were expecting?

LittleMissProcrastinator · 09/09/2011 17:32

She said it could be to do with heavy periods. I do feel pretty wiped out when it is that time of month so anyway I have to get some tablets to help with that.
She also said in a round about way that I might have arthritis. (have been getting joint pains) The blood tests picked that up.
I could go on anti-inflammatories but I said I would leave that for now and see how I go.
I had anaemia last year so I wasn't to surprised when she said I had it again.

GossipWitch · 09/09/2011 19:11

Ohh little miss I am glad its nothing too serious and something that can be dealt with easily enough, iyswim. I have done well today, I've washed up ALL the pots, wiped all the sides, (except hotspot side) all the cupboard fronts, tidied and cleaned lounge, S&Sd bath room 2nd load of laundry in, hotspotted table in hall way (I knew that was inevitable), and 5 min'd the lounge, again! Hmm
planning on mopping floors before bed, I'm getting back on track. :)

missmakesstuff · 09/09/2011 20:01

Littlemiss I occasionally go back on the iron tablets since DD as I used to have horrible periods, felt washed out for days, amazing how quickly they perk you up, heard red wine is full of iron..Grin I even had back ache when I was anaemic, I never realised just how bad it could make you feel. Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks Angeldog for the info about the 75 week spurt, could be that, need to work out what week she is at...Blush shes 17 months on the 15th, due a week later though. she does see a little happier, so maybe has settled into the childminders again, but still so easily upset and clingy - will just have to spend lots of time with her, we do tend to get distracted and not spend time just playing as we are both so busy. I wish I had started signing with her, as she just gets so frustrated asking for things, it just turns into a whine that she does over and over again whilst pointing, until we work it out. Think it might be too late to start now though.

Manic day again today, but have done the mission from thursday, as had done the previous 3 days worth on thursday itself! None of it took too long, but am dreading the floor too, we have a rough slate floor, which seemed like a good idea at the time, but now is just horrible, however it doesn't show dirt, which is a godsend!

I have a list for tomorrow which doesn't include work! (although will have to do it sunday....

Up and dressed
DD up and breakfast
Swish etc
Laundry
Swim (an hour to myself - bliss)
go and buy a new goldfish (we are letting DD choose)
Floor....yuck
town for stuff for classroom and let floor dry!
15min declutter - studio
5min room - probably bedroom
2min hotspots
chill out
wine
bed!

AngelDog · 09/09/2011 21:34

Littlemiss, glad you've got a diagnosis. I had low iron levels for about 7 months after a m/c (not even bad enough to be anaemic) and I really suffered with depression/exhaustion. I'd spend an average of 2 hours a day crying. Within a fortnight of starting iron pills I was a changed woman. :)

missmakes, yeah, I lost track of weeks after DS got to 12 months. IME it's still worth signing at this age. I signed with DS from 6 months but by about 14/15 months, he didn't use any signs other than body parts and 'hat' Confused. He's very verbal so I gave up bothering. But I started using the sign for 'hurt' for emphasis at 18 months and he picked it up straight away.

I spent the whole afternoon at the laundrette and my pillows still aren't dry. Hmm Think we'll probably be back there tomorrow morning. Then DS didn't want to go to sleep, so I've not really had an evening yet. Ho hum.

I think I could manage Flylady if I didn't have to do cooking, shopping & babycare as well!

Tonight:

Quick tidy
Clear up kitchen
Hang out clean nappies

Go to bed. Last night was 11.10 so not too bad.

Carrotsandcelery · 09/09/2011 22:44

littlemiss I am glad you got an answer and it is not too scary an answer. If you take vitamin C with your iron tablets it is supposed to help the absorption. If you make it orange juice or similar it may also make you a bit more comfortable as, not wishing to lower the tone, the tablets may make you a bit constipated. I was anaemic after I had dd as I had a haemorage (sp?) and the tablets sorted it very quickly. I really hope you feel better soon. I often find just knowing what is going on makes me feel better. Be kind to yourself though.

Angel I am Shock about your pillows - remind me never to wash my pillows.

Gossip You are on fire Shock Now sit back and enjoy your sparkly clean and organised house with a Wine

OP posts:
Robotindisguise · 10/09/2011 07:39

Littlemiss I was anaemic when I was a teenager, I remember it well - I also remember how quickly the iron tablets made me feel better. I second what carrots says about constipation though! Time to buy some All Bran?

LittleMissProcrastinator · 10/09/2011 09:41

Thanks everyone for your support. I'm going to try and take it easy for a couple of days and have asked dh if he would be able to help me out with some of the housework till I feel a bit better. He has done some washing up this morning and I have booked a trim for this afternoon so he is going to look after dc while I get a bit of me time.Wink

GossipWitch · 10/09/2011 12:40

whoo hoo i have made 2 Brews and have done some internet shopping too, (i swear it takes longer to internet shop than rl shopping! no time to get on with thr rest of it and then procrastinate round my nan's as boyfriend has forgot that I exist again. Hmm

GossipWitch · 10/09/2011 12:41

Oh my last post was awful for grammar, I'm sorry!

AngelDog · 10/09/2011 13:23

Gossip, I think online shopping takes twice as long too.

Littlemiss, don't forget to drink extra fluid if you're eating extra fibre, or it will onlymake matters worse.

This morning:

Went to laundrette, had to wait for dryer, realised that I wouldn't have time to dry pillows before heading home for DS's nap, so we came home again.

I have:
Had breakfast & lunch & washed up
Cleaned treasure basket basket
Froze aubergine dip
Did some weeding in front garden
Washed & hung out laundry
Put away dry laundry
Packed up some vacuum storage bags. There's so much more room now I've packed them efficiently I need to hunt for more stuff to go in them!

Off to laundrette again this afternoon, and the market.
Need to pack up stuff/nappies/food for a whole day out tomorrow.

GossipWitch · 10/09/2011 13:36

Since I last posted I have :-

put on washing and drying,
stripped all beds -currently in washer
2 min hotspot on kitchen side
5 min room rescue on lounge
swished and swiped

still to do:-
have 15 min break before I
15 min declutter shoes under the stairs
dress ds2
take out rubbish
procrastinate round nan's

GossipWitch · 10/09/2011 13:40

And whilst on my break I've just learnt how to do a blanket stitch. :)

Carrotsandcelery · 10/09/2011 16:42

Hello everyone. Sounds like there is lots of activity going on. We are just in as we have been to the big city [country bumpkin emoticon]

So far I have:
washed and dressed to shoes
made dd a packed lunch as she is out all day today
cleaned out fridge ready for this week's shop
swished main bathroom
put the shopping away

Still to do:
today's babystep
load the dishwasher
clean the work tops
make the tea

Think that will be it for me today - I have driven in the rain for nearly 3 hours and I want Brew then Wine then [chocolate emoticon]

OP posts:
missmakesstuff · 10/09/2011 17:54

I am having a forced break as the contents of the kitchen are in the bathroom and corridor and the kitchen floor has a coat of polish on it. Nothing else to do but sit on the sofa eating buscuits and drinking tea...This Flying is addictive, I ended up finally tackling the kitchen floor at lunch, realised it was so minging that one mopping wouldn't do it, did three buckets worth of dirty water Blush, then ended up doing the skirting and kickboards, then decided it needed a coat of polish too...phew!

So that's my missions done from the week, think it might work if I do that, just cram the missions in to the weekends and day off. Did the 'Man Drawer' in the kitchen for my 15min declutter, finally persuaded DH to throw out a load of old chargers as we don't even know what they are for, there was a load of old tut in there, it's a lot emptier and less random now!

Can't really do today's babystep though, as it involves emails, have heard they are evil so really not going to go there!

So just waiting for it to dry before we can start dinner, and then will have a well deserved bottle glass of wine! enjoy yours carrots!

Carrotsandcelery · 10/09/2011 18:07

I am impatiently tapping my foot, waiting for dd to finish showering so we can tuck into our veggie chilli - then it is Wine time - well, actually Crabbies Ginger Beer tonight Grin Grin Grin

missmakes Yikes! That sounds very energetic. Well done. I know what you mean though. I can start on a cupboard and find myself doing half the kitchen if I am in the right mood.

OP posts:
LittleMissProcrastinator · 10/09/2011 18:34

Wow! it sounds like everyone's been busy.
Not much to report here on housework as I've only done a bit of washing up and cooked tea.
Feel a bit better after my hair cut, Just need to have a nice shower tonight now then chill out till bed time.Smile
I'm hoping I might feel more like doing something by next weekHmm but maybe I'm being a bit too optimistic!
AngelDog I will try to drink more of the right sort of drinks. With these iron tablets I'm not meant to have Tea or Coffee near to the time I have the tablet.
I've heard that drinks with vitamin C are good for helping with iron intake so I better get used to Orange juice etc.

Hope you all enjoy your evenings!

Carrotsandcelery · 10/09/2011 18:44

LittleMiss you will be bursting with health and vitality in no time and putting us all to shame Grin

OP posts:
bessie26 · 10/09/2011 19:22

Oh angel your pillows still aren't dry? What are they made from?

littlemiss glad you know what the problem is & it's nothing too scary. When I was feeling really tired & run down a year or so ago I took http://www.hollandandbarrett.com/pages/product_detail.asp?pid=875 floradix I don't know how it compares with what you've got from the dr, but it's not supposed to cause as much constipation. (I read about it on the pg boards)
What's your diet like? I've got some nice lentil recipes (v.high in iron) which includes my all time favourite ginger soup which I'm making for lunch tomorrow

gossip I hate doing the supermarket shop online, it definitely takes much much longer (unless I use ocado & then it costs much much more!)

I'm still not doing much more than the bare minimum:

  • shiney sink
  • laundry
  • vacuuming
  • cooking
  • swish & swipe
  • 2 min hotspot (laundry basket)

DD1 & I cleaned the kitchen cupboard fronts today, and we've also been making endless trips to the loo with potty training. I did try doing some cleaning while she sat there, but she wanted to help me!

DD2's routine & naps have been getting a bit better & I started PUPD last night to try to improve things at night time too. Thanks to whoever pointed me at the babysleepanswers site, they've not taught me anything new, but it's good to have someone to chat to these things about Smile

Hope to be back flying properly again soon!

Robotindisguise · 11/09/2011 08:10

I need a little motivation... Parents stayed over Friday, many compliments from my mum about the state of the house but of course post-visitors it's all gone to cock. I need to drag it back up to scratch!

LittleMissProcrastinator · 11/09/2011 08:37

Come on Robot you can do it!
I need to get my washing machine going as dd was a bit sick last night.(sorry if TMI)
Has anyone got any hints and tips for cleaning it out of the carpet?
Dh put a load of Vanish carpet foam stuff on it last night but it hasn't gone.

LittleMissProcrastinator · 11/09/2011 08:55

To do: (What I would like to get done)Hmm
Breakfast for dc
get dressed
bath dc
get washing machine on
Hoover up
Try to clean stain on carpet
Wash up/ dry up
Check FlyLady site
Swish and swipe bathroom
Maybe sort tidy main bedroom a bit

Hope I have the energy to do at least some of it.

Robotindisguise · 11/09/2011 09:06

Ooh Littlemiss - there's a task for the day! I think if it was me I'd clean it with diluted fairy liquid (ie, washing up water) and then rinse, dry, and sprinkle over bicarb to absorb the smell. Does that sound too much of a faff?

Carrotsandcelery · 11/09/2011 10:32

Oh dear LittleMiss is she ok now?

I agree with Robot and would do the same. If that doesn't work, when I had massive blood stains on the carpet my Mum told me to put loads of salt on it and cold water and that worked a treat. I am not sure if it is the same for sick though. You could try a specific question in Good Housekeeping - someone will know.

So far I have:
washed and dressed to shoes
looked out dd's winter clothes (not as many there as I thought)Hmm
brought all the small furries inside as we have a bad storm forecast (it is now like a petting zoo in the kitchen and one of the rabbits is thumping her foot like mad because she can't see the tv)

So now I am dirty and sweaty and feel like I need another wash

To do:
washing - once dd has cleaned her room
go into the big city again to get dd new shoes - Yikes!
cook tea today's babystep
load dishwasher and clean worktops

That will be it for today Grin

Has everyone else got a storm forecast? I have been casting an eye round the garden to see if I need to move anything else.
