Morning everyone :)

Boo, holidays over and DH back to work. Fortunately we have an outing planned and then hopefully DS will sleep for a bit this afternoon because he didn't go to sleep until 10pm and was awake at 7!

PlumBumandBaublesMum · 04/01/2011 10:16

Morning girls, last day of holidays here
dcs back to school tomorrow, dh back to work a few days ago

but I slept in and didn't make it in time to ring surgery for any morning apps,
ds has had a sore tummy for weeks, I put it down to constipation(even though he eats 3 weetabix a day) but I'm starting to worry incase its his appendix or something

my shoulder has got bad again too, so have ordered prescriptions and will ring tomorrow morning for tomorrows appointments

Anyway my nannie is going for her brain scan today but she has got quite bad, told my aunt my mum was drunk when she visited her, then when my mum visited the next day she was really nice to her then when my aunt took her to the toilet she said the cheek of my mum to show up after being drunk, if it wasn't so sad it would be hilarious, everyone knows my mum hardly drinks.

I haven't been to see her yet going to wait for brain scan and see how she is, then head down, I don't want her getting anymore distressed although she is normally very good with me, think I'm frightened incase she freaks out in front of me

FestiveOrganisoid · 04/01/2011 11:45

Sad Plum it's so hard to see them go downhill. Went to see my nanny over xmas (she is in a home) and she didn't know who any of us were and clearly couldn't be bothered to talk to these strangers who were bothering her. She was interested in the dc for a few minutes but that was it. It's been quite gradual with her though so I've got used to it and don't really get upset by it so much now.

DD back to school today. I only woke up at ten to eight when ds came and got in bed with me though Blush bit of a rushed start to the day!

Had awful awful dream last night where I was pregnant and the dad was a terrorist and his whole family was doing a suicide mission and forcing me to do it too. Woke up feeling really sad about killing the baby.

JKS lots of lovely frames in tk maxx but all either 6x4, 7x5 or 8x10 Sad

Bit stressed as have 2 buggies and a hop and pop in the shed that I need to get rid of and some of the other stuff in there has started to get mould spots on...

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 04/01/2011 14:21

Freaky they say dap in Wales too, thought I was back living there for a minute! Grin

I am stressed out about tomorrow. I've got a growth scan and then consultant appointment and DH was supposed to be working at home to look after DS while I went, but now there is a last minute meeting and he can't. So I have to try and have a scan with an over-eager toddler clambering on me Hmm Any tips?
And I'm feeling resentful that DH can just say 'sorry I can't do it', and then it isn't his problem any longer. And I know that's my hormones, but grrrrrr.

Maybe there is more drug teatment around now though. It is sad, because there is really a loss for the family, but the person still there, IYSWIM.

Ali I had to have dd at all my appointments when I was pg with ds (fortnightly scans and consultant appointments-fun!). Most of them had a basket of toys in the room but I took books etc too. The best was when the sonographer lay her down next to me and scanned her too Grin Only thing was I didn't really get to look at the scans as was busy talking/reading to dd

JustKeepSwimming · 04/01/2011 16:04

Ali - i totally get you though, DH said no work today, then as we walked in the door from friends (been out for 2hours) he announces he has to pop into the office Hmm
i said great timing...and he got all huffy, well i planned it this way so i'd be home for kids tea, etc. I'm a bit like, well what about the 2 hours you've just had?! men!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 04/01/2011 23:38

Ah Plum it is hard to see them struggling, and hard to be the grown up as well when they are frightened and confused. Hopefully there will be some results tomorrow and then at least you will know what you are dealing with IYKWIM? ((hugs))

JKS - yep that sounds familiar! I told DH earlier that I was a bit resentful that he could just say 'I can't be there' and it isn't his problem any longer and I have to deal with it on my own - wanted him to know that I understand but that this might be the real reason that I rant at him about something minor Grin It's a good job he loves me!

Comtessa how're you getting on, how is the scar etc?

Freaky I pulled myself together after reading your post. I was feeling v.sorry for myself! I have packed books, treats and stickers for tomorrow, it will be fine. I don't think the scan rooms have any toys, but they have some out in waiting area - eek I've just thought about flu germs, must put some antibac gel in - so waiting between scan and consultant won't be too bad.

Mini - I have a Hotpoint and it has been great so far (3 years). It is their 9kg machine though, not sure you need one that big if there are only two of you! :)

No Freaky it didn't, but it did make me think 'get a grip woman' to myself which is no bad thing Grin
Have a lovely lunch :)

It was absolutely fine, DS was good as gold and at one point had the consultant, 2 registrars, a sonographer and a midwife all looking after him and making a vast fuss while I went to the loo to do a urine sample :)
Very good for me too. Baby is growing spot on so no concerns there - 2.8 lbs already! - but it is lying transverse with it's feet wedged down in my pelvis, which goes some way to explaining why I'm so blimmin' uncomfortable atm!
No more appointments until 34 weeks which is good too.

Also, interestingly ended up talking to the consultant who did my section with DS while I was waiting. He said that DS was in a horrible lie, back to back with head and shoulders transverse so there was no way he was ever coming out except by section. Weirdly, that has made me feel a lot better about it all, so much so that after chatting with a lovely registrar for ages I'm giving some serious consideration to attempting a VBAC. Shock

Mini - pretty much every day. With nappies I do about 9-10 loads a week, god knows how many that would be in a normal sized machine. It takes a battering, that is for sure!

Good progress purple :)

Back in a minute with a list.
