SLATTERNS Yoohoo bring those lists here now!

OP posts:
Alibabaandthe40nappies · 30/07/2010 08:58

SweetGrapes - I didn't realise you were pg, congratulations I ordered that one too, mainly based on the really good reviews it has on Amazon - it only arrived the other day so I've not had a go at it yet. The pilates one is this one here which is a bargin. It is broken into small chunks so you can fit it in here and there. I can feel it this morning in my abs and my bum.

No list today really, we are going to look at cars DH is annoying the hell out of me, why can he not get on with stuff in the morning this quickly usually, only when we are doing something to do with motor vehicles.

somethinganything · 30/07/2010 09:25

Pub was lovely - a couple of drinks and a burger out in the garden on a summer's evening. Perfect. But my list has suffered so I'd best get going. We're off on holiday for two weeks (only going to the south coast but it'll still take a bit of planning).

Have fantastic, productive days everyone.

DH got a new car about 6 weeks ago, but still looks at what cars he might have got instead i just don't get it!

Tiles are going on in the kitchen today, really pretty. Just want it to be done now though.

10 days til due date, and i have frustrated nesting instinct syndrome. Can't do anything because everything is still all in the wrong places, it is making me grumpy!

anonymousbird · 30/07/2010 11:34

I love all your lists, ladies, I have been lurking and hoping to join in, even from a distance from a while. It will have to be next week though, as I only just tidied up last night's dinner!!!!!AAAGGGHHH.

Your lists are all so super and orderly and succinct. I think I need to copy and paste them all together!!! Mine is all a bit random and just odd jobbish as opposed to ensuring our daily family life runs in orderly fashion, which is what I am really trying to achieve! Suppose my list making skills sum up my life really. Random and needing to be done, but not necessarily very urgent or appropriate!

wastingaway · 30/07/2010 15:07

Anonymousbird, I've found the lists have really helped, though it took a little while. I still don't always wash the pots after dinner though!

  • coffee + check mail and online banking doing
  • shower and dress, wipe round bathroom done

Grot -

ok, I know I am multiple posting, but am so excited as this new concept in my life - a "live" list. I cheated slightly, as in order to do quite a bit of this lot, I sat the children in front of a DVD for an hour or so this afternoon.... but needs must and all that. This is much more my kettle of fish than the other thread I was following about ditching the vino!

  • Ocado delivered (too early - still in nightie!) and put away - DONE
  • Chickens food and water to be filled DONE poor hungry birds!
  • Water greenhouse and vegetables DONE/ ongoing right now with sprinkler
  • Clean loos and bathrooms DONE
  • Hoover up bloomin bugs all over the house DONE
  • Walk the Dog DONE walked herself today, after escaping for 45 minutes - assume she covered AT LEAST 4 miles!
  • Tidied garden and gravel DONE
  • 2 Laundry loads washed, dried and folded ALMOST DONE
  • Ironing of the above
  • Children fed and happy DONE
  • House looking generally sorted and ready for the weekend.... AS-DONE-AS-IT-EVER-WILL
  • Remake the bed
  • Work out several interesting ways with Courgettes so family don't get bored over the weekend
  • Two birthday presents needed by tomorrow - choose, buy and wrap
  • Renew various insurance policies (ongoing to next week) - finding time to shop around is a challenge at the moment
  • Book car hire, pay balance on holiday, order travel insurance (ongoing to next week)

Bless you for welcoming me to the fold (no pun intended!)

Have great weekends everyone. (Do you post at weekends?)

Hello We are JUST home! We have gone miles, from Hampshire to Bath and then down to Weston-super-Mare and then home through Somerset because the M4 was clogged. I am shattered, but DH has decided on a car. Yay! Just some paperwork to be sorted and then he can go and pick it up next Friday.

Welcome new Slatterns

anonymous - I quite often post at a weekend, not if we are away obviously but if we are here I do! With my list, I have a basic daily list that I keep in a txt. file and then I add to/modify it depending on what I need to do each day.

DONE
All up dressed and ready to leave
Breakfast and clearing up
Put duvet cover in washing machine because DS squeezed an entire bottle of body lotion over it
Spend day driving around looking at various cars
Finally decide on car
Drive home
Flop down and give DS some tea

TO DO
DS into bed, not for a while though he has slept loads in the car
Dry duvet cover
More washing?
Sleep

Bless DS, it was my fault really with the lotion, I left him on our bed and it was within reach. He knew he shouldn't have done it, he was fighting the tears, his little mouth kept turning down at the corners so I couldn't be cross [soft touch emoticon]

somethinganything · 30/07/2010 20:08

anonymous hi, I'm also a newbie. Good, isn't it?

Pants, it's all gone wrong. My list is in tatters, metaphorically speaking. It's 8pm and I'm only just beginning to pack for a 2-week (albeit UK) holiday. Left DD1 in front of a DVD while I put DD2 to bed and then did a bit of packing, she climbed into our bed, ignoring the potty I'd left next to it and in front of the TV, and wee'd in it (freshly made up for the ILs who are staying while we are away). I'm sooo pissed off, it's the second time this week and the washing maching was already going to be v busy tonight pre-trip. I don't even want to write a list because the sheer size of it will depress me.

So basically it's going to be a late one. Then we're off at lunchtime tomorrow so having just joined I'll be leaving you for a couple of weeks. Will def be back post-holiday though. In the meantime good luck with your lists one and all.

anonymousbird · 30/07/2010 20:37

OO, somethinganything good luck, it will all come together and then YOU ARE OFF ON YOUR HOLS!!!

Where are you going? Have a great time. We'll have gone by the time you get back, so hope to catch up in about 3.5 weeks!

somethinganything · 30/07/2010 20:54

Thanks anonymous we're just going to East Sussex so not far (we live in London). I guess it won't be the end of the world if we leave anything behind...

Have a great holiday yourself and catch up in a few weeks. Sheets are in the wash, have started to pack - feeling a little bit calmer!

wastingaway · 30/07/2010 21:22

somethinganything, Oh no! Just focus on what you need to do next. And have a lovely holiday!

Ooh Wasting I hope you're putting your feet up while Grandma does bedtime

DS is in bed, I have barely moved. It is cold here, really chilly. DH has been making me lovely hot chocolates

wastingaway · 30/07/2010 22:07

Ali, I went for a walk in the rain. It was nice to walk at adult speed.

Ooh, hot chocolate! I haven't had one in ages.
