Meant to say Alibaba try not to worry re lack of nausea. I had virtually no symptoms in first trimester of both pregnancies (other than massive mood swings second time round but didn't know if I could blame that on being preg...) - kept panicking about it but both DDs were just fine!

And Alice congrats on imminent DC2. Those last few weeks are tough when you've got a toddler to look after but it's all worth it

PlumBumMum · 29/07/2010 14:25

Right, our shower is disgusting!
I need any tips on how to get it sparkling or at least clean.
I am embarrassed about its state - it has black stuff around the bottom and all the grouting is off-white
the doors are looking better now i've started using my new squeegee but need scrubbing down with something abrasive? to get rid of the watermarks.

When someone comes to stay, like the PIL, i feel embarrassed all over again, so help needed!!

JKS no ones shower can be as bad as mine, dh washing oil & diesel off, I have to use tar & glue remover on shower tray once and awhile

But I use flash and a pot scourer (yellow & green sponge things) on glass
rinse then window cleaner & kitchen roll, sometimes I use glass polish,
and if I'm feeling really unslatternly I use water repellent stuff for windscreens,
that is why my shower is listed as a seperate job sometimes

But a good squizz of watered down bleach round your grout will be enough!

JustKeepSwimming · 29/07/2010 16:58

Thanks Plum, i thought bleach would come into it somewhere.

What about the black stuff around the bottom of the walls/screens?

PlumBumMum · 29/07/2010 17:14

Bleach!

Alicetheinvisible · 29/07/2010 17:17

Or whitening toothpaste

RainbowDrops · 29/07/2010 17:32

Hi Everyone!! something and sweet grapes you are both doing really well!!

JKS my grout is off white too, it really annoys me, bleach works a little , I think I'll give Alices tip of whitening toothpaste a go.

plum Yuk!! I would of been unimpressed too!! Although if it were me being sick on my DH I would have thought it was hilarious, I have got a sick sense of humour though

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 29/07/2010 17:34

JKS - we have just re-grouted around the edge of our bath (shower is over the bath) because it was so horrid. I have a little brush like an enormous toothbrush from Lakeland which I use to scrub the tile grout - I use Cif spray bathroom cleaner most of the time and then do inbetween goes with Mr Muscle limescale remover on the shower screen. It is a pain in the arse though because the screen is curved so the scrubber just slides round it.

I have had a lovely nap, no exercise again! Argh must do some.
Right, dinner.

wastingaway · 29/07/2010 17:57

Evening all!

Hope our newbies are finding the day's gone smoothly.

Been visiting today, and registered at the dentist!
DS has been snoozing in his bggy for an hour. I'd better get tea cooking before I try and wake him, could be a late bedtime for him now.

  • tidy downstairs up
  • wake up the boy
