If you wanted to buy some really high quality 100% cotton luxury bedding (duvet set) with really great designs, where would you look?

Want to treat myself and don’t want to use anything like Amazon etc.

Thank you

White company

Beowolves · 26/02/2026 17:25

Sorry-just seen you said great designs. White company are lovely feeling but not exactly exciting!

Pinkyporky · 26/02/2026 17:34

White company buttons tend to fall off and I find they fray. I don’t feel they are value for money anymore. I first bought them over 25 years ago and they have declined.

I look for 400 to 800 count sheets. Preferably Egyptian cotton. I’ve had great ones from Costco, and recently Next. They’ve been cheaper than TWC and lasted better!

MakeMineAMilkyTea · 26/02/2026 17:37

I like next. I’ve also got dorma. In all honesty I prefer my bamboo bedding by panda. It’s just another level up there and I say that as a lover of 1000 thread count cotton bedding.

Beowolves · 26/02/2026 17:51

I’ve also had some nice ones from TK maxx

Overtheatlantic · 26/02/2026 17:55

Try Piglet in Bed and John Lewis.

DontKillSteve · 26/02/2026 17:58

These are lovely. They sometimes have 15% off.

I've bought three sets from John Lewis. Quality is much better than M&S. Nice modern patterns too.

Cheese55 · 26/02/2026 18:06

I bought some recently from Amazon which claimed to have high thread count. V scratchy, same with 2 sheets also meant to be high thread (like the highest they do). What am I doing wrong???

carlitaclarita · 26/02/2026 18:08

Sorry should have specified, looking for bolder, more colourful prints. So hard to find.
thank you for suggestions so far.

Just look on John Lewis, go for the highest thread count you can afford of Egyptian cotton.

personlly I prefer all white, although I know you said design. I got this and it’s lovely, it really makes a difference, with an excellent mattress, pliiows and quilt.

Brightlittlecanary · 26/02/2026 18:10

Oh sorry I posted white before I realised you want bold. But the point in quality stands,

carlitaclarita · 26/02/2026 18:11

Cologne & Cotton are great but this time I want something really wow.

Generally patterns don’t come in high thread count. There’s a happy medium in dunelm but not as nice as the really high thread count ones

carlitaclarita · 26/02/2026 18:14

Is that right? I was thinking of looking for some Indian designs, as they are often colourful and patterned, but no idea where to look.

Actually, Clarissa Hulse

BatsInHibernation · 26/02/2026 18:28

Oh how many times have I got on and off this merry-go-round 😆
I wanted 100% cotton sheets desperately. They are wrinkly and don't look great. I'm not ironing them .another chance.
I think the white company is a great recommendation. When I stay another, richer people's homes, that's what they have.
I finally found my bedding nirvana. Not with cotton sheets, but with a wool duvet from Baavet and some lovely striped £25 bedding from M & S.
I now know I am going down a White Company rabbit hole of desire shortly, probably whilst drinking tea in the bath, despite reaching bedding nirvana already.

ExOptimist · 26/02/2026 18:31

I have had high quality cotton patterned ones from Bedeck.

carlitaclarita · 26/02/2026 18:43

Omg @stealaClarissa Hulse stuff is gorgeous! Right up my street. Thank you, would never have found it.

White company

Edited

White company is shit. I spent $$$ on their bedding and it doesn't stay on the duvet (I have the right size) and my IKEA set is much better. It does look pretty though.

Try Piglet in Bed and John Lewis.

I got a piglet in bed set but it wasn't very nice. It faded very very quickly.

La Redoute

user593 · 26/02/2026 19:31

Yves Delorme. Very spendy though.
