How much would you pay for this floral decoration?

I've recently started making these home floral decorations. How much would you pay for one of these if anything. I understand they may not be everyones taste. The plant pot is made from concrete and is quite heavy. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Are they fresh flowers that will die, or preserved in some way?

PhilosophicalCheeseSandwich · 14/09/2024 18:51

What are the flowers made of? I think I need a banana for scale as well.

Changeiscomingthisyear · 14/09/2024 18:52

They’re not to my tastes.

Mindymomo · 14/09/2024 18:52

It’s difficult to say without knowing the actual size, but I expect the silk flowers cost around £15 and pot the same, so if the base is about 8 inches then £30 plus to make, so £45 to sell. It is nice and would sell well for graves, I would prefer brighter colours.

hopeishere · 14/09/2024 18:52

Not to my taste. But maybe £5?

jackstini · 14/09/2024 18:53

Are they for memorials/graves?
I would say £40ish
Not to my taste but know people who would like them

I hadn't thought of graves, I was wondering why anyone would want a concrete pot in their home.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 14/09/2024 18:56

If it is for a table decoration is the 'urn thing' returned or are you charging for it?

(I wouldn't want to keep it)

EternallyDelighted · 14/09/2024 19:02

Not to my taste either but if it was a plain white or terracotta pot and coloured or white flowers maybe £35 as a one-off for a gift.

gardenmusic · 14/09/2024 19:24

Sorry, but not my thing. I would not buy.
I think the pot would look better natural, with taller more natural looking floristry, whatever the blooms were made from. I think then I would pay £60-£80. Are your flowers able to withstand a bit of weather?
I could imagine this filled with lovely christmassy greenery.

Iloveeverycat · 14/09/2024 19:30

They are foam roses. I would just buy some and make one myself.

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 14/09/2024 19:35

I reckon a tenner.

A similar thing in B&M would be about £8.

LuluBlakey1 · 14/09/2024 19:36

Not my thing- I wouldn't ever buy it.

MumChp · 14/09/2024 19:40

For the graveyard £10-15. Wouldn't have it at home.

Flin · 14/09/2024 19:40

I wouldn't choose to buy it, but I would guess that if it to someone's taste, they might pay £25.

Scoobydoobydoobydoo0987 · 14/09/2024 20:22

Thanks for all the replies so far and in answer to some questions.

The concrete pot is actually an outdoor planter, I've attached a photo before paint.

I've also attached a photo with a can of drink for size reference.

We actually sell the planters on their own for £20 so I was curious to know how much someone might pay as a decoration instead.

The flowers I used were foam, and this was my first attempt, so it is a big rough.

What colour pot/flowers would make it more saleable?

The flowers look white and grey, are they? I think brighter colours would make it more saleable.

Scoobydoobydoobydoo0987 · 14/09/2024 20:27

The flowers are white and black. Do you think all white would be better? Or another colour? What sort of colour would appeal to you?

I don't know where I would place it, I wouldn't have artificial flowers in the garden and it looks too much 'graveyard' for the house.

I would advertise them as Graveside flowers - Baby pink/baby blue would appeal to people who have lost a child x

gardenmusic · 14/09/2024 20:37

The pot looks terracotta?
I think I would be looking for plants in it, rather than a floral arrangement.

StoatofDisarray · 14/09/2024 20:42

Pump up the spooky vibe and sell them as Halloween centrepieces?

Littlebean25 · 14/09/2024 20:45

All white flowers with that base ☺️

Neveranynamesleft · 14/09/2024 20:49

The type of flowers and the pot just dont seem to go together, it looks ' flat' really..The pot looks like it should be outside. The flowers look cheap to be honest. Sorry but I would not buy.

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 14/09/2024 20:50

I liked the pot as it was. I don’t think you should paint them.

HelpMeHaveAVoice · 14/09/2024 20:55

I think the base looks good for outside.

If you put something fake something themed would be good like for Halloween, autumnal or Christmas. Otherwise I'd prefer a real plant pot in it.
