What colour would you paint this front door?

So dark grey Downpipe ish windows (no judgement please they are 12 years old) with new wooden door.

Thinking dark orange?

Not pink or mustard.

Northfacing…sorry bad photos, drive has been done with small flat cobble style stones since.

moving the pots to the front corners of the step would help broaden the entrance with little effort or faff.

As far a door colour goes, burnt orange is still a great idea still. A purple could be fab but being north facing it’d probably have to be a brighter or lighter shade than linked earlier. Which would be a shame, they were gorgeous. Lilacish would be dreadful. An aubergine/mauve shade might well just look like a failed attempt to match the windows, that’d be a shame! That said, the right shade of purple with some orange, pink and purple planting would get my vote.

much as I adore roses and climbers (and climbing roses) I don’t think they’d work do well here. Wall trained pyracantha (evergreen with tonnes of orange berries) would do well on a north facing wall and give year round interest. Maybe 3 to draw the frontage together rather than just two by the door? You could PLEASE replace the ivy? Maybe with a pink flowering rohdendenron and some orange roses. Verbina too. Viburnum would do well there too, loads of sorts of those.

If you painted to door surround the same colour as you paint the door, move the plants as@OwlBasket suggests, you would have a really grand entrance.

Cherry red. But it's a modern house so you could get away with most colours.
