As per the title! I'm looking for a dusky pink, and out of 5 testers, all are wrong! Please can someone recommend one and show it to me on your walls? The ones on my wall look NOTHING like the flaming test cards 🥴. It needs to be painted tomorrow!!!! Carpets coming on Monday morning 🙈.
Thank you!!!

I saw this on the sample in b&q today and it wasn't right. But thank you!

This is kind of what we had in mind for the wall.

Dulux Soft Stone. It's not Stone coloured- it's pink

Brewers does a lovely spft pink, think it's called milkshake. A powdery pink with grey undertones.

Farrow and Ball Pink Ground is a lovely pink without being “sugary”, if that makes sense - we have it in our living room.

AmoebicSquid · 21/10/2023 17:14

Either of these?

Dulux colour of the year 2024 is sweet embrace, a dusky pink.
Thing is with a colour in your house, it's all about which way the windows point, how much natural light it gets and the effect of other colours against eg flooring and furniture it that really changes how it shows up.
I used a dulux one that doesn't look the same as the pictures on the website because there was more natural very bright light in the roomset. Its a beautiful colour but shows up deeper in my house than pastelly/minty like on the website. Is it a bright room naturally?

Agree. I've got it in the hall (Leyland paint copy). A very safe pink, though not dusky.

OP, a good way to get a better sense of some colours, because you can see 'real' photos of rooms in the colour, is to search on Instagram.

I really like it!

Have a look at Lick. They have several pinks.

We have Farrow and Ball Peignoir -- it is subtle and beautiful and looks slightly different because of the light on each wall. Very restful.

Peignoir

Richly pigmented paint and handcrafted wallpaper.

Which way does the room face? I have a colour very similar to Lick’s Pink 05 in a north-facing room. It’s a lovely dusky pink, but the northern light brings out a mauve tinge.

LittleRebelGirl · 21/10/2023 17:54

The room is south east facing. Nothing so far has been right. I do love that brewers one though, might use that in the new bathroom that is under construction! Thanks 😁.
I can't even find anything in the colour I want to go and take it to be colour matched. 🫣

We have dulux dusted fondant on a couple of walls. That's quite dusky, altho perhaps ever so slightly lilacy depending on light?

confusedlots · 21/10/2023 18:10

We went through loads of testers to find the right one and settled on calamine farrow and ball, really pleased with it.

Soho house

I had this dilemma when painting my daughters bedroom. We went with Dulux satin bow. It's one you have to have mixed. Very pleased with it.

Valspar Brazillian Rose. Just had dining area painted in it

Love that milkshake colour. I once painted a bathroom pink and it was dreadful, such a cold colour. But these dusky shades are much more livable.

Same. Another room has LG Angie. It's not dusky but is a great ice cream pink. Slightly retro.
