Can I see you pale pink front doors ?

I’m very tempted to paint my front door pale pink, but not sure what DH will think.
Has anyone got pictures of theirs ? Does the colour go well with an autumnal wreath and Xmas wreath ?

I have no photos of a door but I have a beautiful image in my head of a christmas wreath on a pink door, you're making me want a pink front door!

You can’t see mine, because DH put his foot down and refused to allow it. I had to settle for hyacinth blue instead.

No, don’t do it. One of my neighbours has a pale pink front door - it looks horrible. In fact it looks like undercoat and unfinished. 😡

I would love a pink door. You need to get the tone right. I left it to my husband who hates pink, he went for a nude pink and it looked shit, like a giant plaster. I have duck egg now.
the right tone I think would need to be properly candyish.

What colour is your house op? I can’t imagine it would look great next to red brick, but a white painted house I can see looking nice.

This isn't mine but one round the corner from me. This is it looking quite understated. It's usually much more decorated which I normally hate on other doors, but I love this one. It makes me smile every time I walk past it.

Do these “DHs” worry that the neighbours will think they are gay? Or perhaps they will turn gay if they have a pink front door.

It’s masked a bit by the gigantic hanging basket but this row of houses has a pink door, a Parma violet one, a lemon yellow on and various other colours and looks amazing. The pink might be a bit darker than you are thinking of but it’s gorgeous

I had mine painted ‘mischief’ I think it was called by little greene very similar to the pink pictured above I loved it got bored last summer & painted it teal green seriously thinking of redoing it pink or a lavender maybe go for it, can always repaint if you don’t like it.

There is a house near me, which is white with a very pale pink door, and grey window frames and it looks lovely.

We also know a house which is red brick which used to haze a shocking pink door, and it looked awful. Door is nueva different colour, looks much better (dark green).

There's a house in the New Town of Edinburgh that has a pale pink door and I think it looks lovely. It's a very controversial door though, because the owner kept painting it and neighbours kept objecting that the colour wasn't in keeping with the conservation status of the area. I think it depends on the pink. A bright purplish pink or bubblegum pink wouldn't work well but a muted pink with some peach / rust tones in it would.

Personally I wouldn’t do pink with red brick and don’t like example posted above at all. But it is your door and easily painted over if you get sick of it.

This is not my front door, but mine is the same colour (Farrow & Ball Rangwali). I suspect the mid pink door hidden behind a hanging basket up thread is also that colour.

When I was deciding what colour to paint my door, I spent ages going through different options. I don’t actually like pink that much. I wanted my favourite colour (green)but had to concede that this pink was a much better choice for lifting the drab, grey, exterior of my house. My advice would be to choose a colour that goes well with the rest of your house.
