Am I the only one?? Greeting/ Birthday etc. cards facing outwards on inwards in the window

Hello, was unsure what topic to put this under and this was the closest i could find.. i was doing some spring cleaning and came across some old valentines day cards and remembered a discussion i had with my Husband when putting them in the window back then, I was of the opinion that I like to put cards facing outwards on the window for the whole world to see but he was of the opinion that they should be facing inwards because he doesnt feel comfortable having strangers see the cards and that nobody faces their cards outwards.. am i the only one who does this?? Lol if people put all sorts of personal stuff on social media for all strangers to see i am sure there is nothing wrong with putting cards on the window sil facing outwards 🙄 i just want to show how loving my family is and share the occasion.. i am really itching to know if anyone else does this? Please someone say yes they do so i stop feeling like the odd one out! 😩

if you are serious you need to speak to someone. This is not a good way to feel.

Ours go on a string on the living room door. If they went on the windowsill they would face inwards though. Outwards is bonkers.

Inwards. Ive no interest in random people who happen to be walking past knowing someone in our house has a birthday or whatever. Neither do I care to have a nose at the greetings cards in someone elses window. Or sit in my house looking at the back of cards. Definitely you being the odd one op!

@FFSwhatisthis speak to someone? About cards? Oh come on! Lmao yeah okay i face cards outwards but some people on here are talking about it as a life and death matter! Lighten up! I have a have a "if you want to do it then do it" attitude towards everyone, i am genuinely a cheery person and i believe everyone should express themselves and just be themselves 😄 honestly if i saw someone doing something i thought was bonkers i wouldnt be dull or grim over it, would be intrigued as to why they would want to do that but as i said "you do you, whatever!" 😁

If theres no rule then just be yourself no matter what 😃

Inwards for me to enjoy. I’m more likely to look at it than neighbours or strangers walking past.

If I send a footballer birthday card or one with a joke it is because I think the person whose birthday it is will appreciate that card. Not sure neighbours would get the joke. If the birthday boy/girl is into football they will likely have talked to the neighbours about it and why would random other people care?

If a 70 year old gran wanted to go to a beach wearing nothing but a thong go ahead as long as you aint arrested and its a nude beach 😄, if a straight man wants to wear a bikini or a tutu go ahead! Lol im the type that wont moan about it because if thats you then its you

I guess some cards have kind of personal information - maybe your husband doesn’t want a big “Happy 50th Dad” for all to see or something?

Also, one of our windows has double curtains, inherited from previous owners. Every time I see it closed from the outside I think how much nicer it looks. So, maybe I’m only half a step from your bonkersness!

Inwards so I can see them! Randoms don't give a toss. I certainly don't want to be looking at the backs of cards. These days they go on the piano though, and actually don't recall putting them on a windowsill. .

They sit in a pile on top of the kitchen dresser for a couple of days and then get dumped in recycling bin.

Always facing in.. they are for you to look at inside not passers by!

@TurquoiseJasper no i would not like neighbours to knock on my door and etc.etc. 😒 you know thats not what i expect so why even waste time coming up with that..? if you dont like facing your cards outwards then okay? But there are those who do, as mentioned by another poster about their neighbour for example, what are you going to do? Create a petition asking for a ban on it? Lol cant believe you can take this topic too seriously 😆 as i said before, its something i do because i prefer it that way. Theres various things you guys might do that i disagree with and think its crazy but as i said before, you do what you do if theres nothing stopping you!

Im gonna stop posting on here now guys i have a busy week ahead but it was good to know everyones views and also to see how serious little topics can be taken by some 😄😆 as i said before though i will do what i do, been doing it for years and nobody has had a problem 😁 whther you out ur cards facing outwards or put pineapple on your pizzas or wear pyjamas to the supermarket in the evening for a quick shop (i dont do that btw lol) do whatever makes you feel good and never give a poop about anyone else 😁

Inwards but then I thought it was normal to open birthday cards and put them up as they arrive like you do with Christmas cards but apparently that's wrong and you should save them all to open on your birthday so what do I know

You don’t keep them. You put them up to enjoy for a week or so, then you put them in the recycling, or use them for writing shopping lists, or for craft activities or whatever

I used to work with someone who stored every scrap of wrapping paper she received. Didn't re-use it, didn't even frame the nice patterns and have them on the wall as art. Just shoved it all in a box; or more likely boxes.

School holidays, people.
