Super king bed, super king duvet?

I've heard different opinions from two people. Both have super king beds and one says king sized duvet is absolutely fine - makes it easier to buy covers, make the bed etc. The other says absolutely not, get super king duvet as it looks silly otherwise.
So, what is your opinion if you have a super king? I've got 3 weeks before we move and put up the new bed! I need to make a decision and don't want to make a mistake!

Super king duvet for sure. Husband still manages to steal most of it tho despite the size of it. I’m short fat and lazy but even I can manage to change the bedding by myself.

OnceAgainWithFeeling · 10/01/2023 22:11

Super king for sure. There wouldn’t be enough overhang with a king sized duvet.

JengaNonConfirming · 10/01/2023 22:11

Definitely the super king duvet - what's the point in having all that space if you don't have enough duvet to go around!?! I now have a king sized bed, but still have a super king quilt , 😍

StopFeckingFaffing · 10/01/2023 22:12

Super king bedding 100%

King size will definitely be too small

TheHauntedPencilCase · 10/01/2023 22:12

Super king and if I could find one with bedding I'd get a duvet a size bigger! I've considered getting 2 double duvets so we don't fight over covers but I already hate changing sheets!

NoodletheSchnoodle · 10/01/2023 22:13

We have super king bed/mattress but king duvet and it's fine, doesn't look odd (to me anyway!) still hangs over the sides and never had any issues with myself or DH hogging the duvet!
A SK probably would look slightly better but not so much better that I can justify the cost or lack of choice of SK size

TheFlis12345 · 10/01/2023 22:13

A king will be too small, we have a super king duvet on a king size bed. We always go up a size!

20viona · 10/01/2023 22:13

Why is this even a question 😂

Super king duvet for super king bed. You wouldn't buy a single duvet for a double bed.

Fragrantandfoolish · 10/01/2023 22:15

Super king of course. How ridiculous it would be to have a smaller quilt. Defeats the purpose. Shocked anyone would do that. As a pp said it’s like putting a single on a double bed.😂

I’ve never had a problem finding linen.

OneAndDon3 · 10/01/2023 22:15

Absolutely super king. The bedding is dead easy to get these days

keri17 · 10/01/2023 22:19

Oh wow, i don’t even have a king duvet on my king bed , there’s no way I’d survive with it on a super king bed

BruceAndNosh · 10/01/2023 22:19

We have 2 single duvets on our SKS.
Works well especially if you sleep with a duvet hogger, but if either of you are particularly tall or wide, a single might be a bit skimpy

paintitallover · 10/01/2023 22:20

Superking. But god, they're expensive!

Ragwort · 10/01/2023 22:29

Definitely super king ... or two separate duvets. Or do what I did .. have the SK bed to myself & DH sleeps in his own K size bed Grin.

FirstFallopians · 10/01/2023 22:33

For the sake of about £20 difference in price, you’d be insane to buy a king duvet for a super king bed. It would look ridiculous and negates the point of the massive bed!

Congratulations on the new bed. DH and I upgraded from a double and when we set up the SK it was honestly one of the happiest days of our lives 😂

buckeejit · 10/01/2023 22:34

Up until superking, I always had a duvet a size bigger. SKS for sure - plenty of stockists nowadays

AgapanthusandAcers · 10/01/2023 22:34

I agree with everyone who has said superking duvet.

Mischance · 10/01/2023 22:35

If you have a partner in the bed, I would get two single duvets.

aramox1 · 10/01/2023 22:37

King is fine. Unless you have a very duvet hogging partner

Krakenes · 10/01/2023 22:37

Super king!! Get a wool one. Best purchase ever. Had to resort to a king one off the spare bed when our child was poorly and peed/pooed/vomited and it penetrated the duvet cover. It did the job, but not what I’d want every day.

Wbeezer · 10/01/2023 22:37

We have two singles on our Super king. I think some people even go for two doubles! Discovered this on holiday in Germany and copied i of a very tidy lookin bed is important you can always put a bedspread over the top during the day.

Toomanysleepycats · 10/01/2023 22:43

I agree with the poster who said two singles.

Solves the problem of duvet hogging, you can have different tog ratings and most important, you can change the duvet cover so much easier!

I started doing this when I went through the menopause and went down to a 3tog duvet. I wouldn’t go back.

Onekidnoclue · 10/01/2023 22:47

Definitely super king duvet and just to throw another spanner in the mix I think super king pillows too. Normal ones just look weirdly small.

Thethingswedoforlove · 10/01/2023 22:58

Super king super king super king

then you can take up all of the bed or be snuggled up together and you will be warm and cosy no matter what!

EwwSprouts · 10/01/2023 22:59

We have a king duvet but super king duvet cover.
