What colour is your hallway?

We still have the off white hall we inherited with this house many years ago and have finally booked a decorator. It runs over three floors so will be quite dominating throughout the house whatever we go for. Would appreciate any inspiration! For context it's a 60s house and we will then be replacing the hall carpet too.

Am just finishing up the decorating on my hall. Yellow, yellow, yes it's yellow.

Not intending to move any time soon, live by myself so no longer worry about anyone else's opinion. I like it. And it's a hallway...you pass through so...just go with what makes YOU happy.Grin

Mine is a pale blush pink. I love it.

Cazziebo · 12/09/2022 08:37

Breakfast Room Green - love it.

(It used to be yellow @onedayiwillmissthis which is a gorgeous sunny happy colour but felt like a change. I might go back to yellow at some point in the future. )

What colour is your hallway?

Very interested in this too OP. We are similar in that ours was magnolia when we moved in 17 years ago (!!) but now it's mucky and grubby and the woodwork desperately needs refreshing too. My DH wants a grey carpet (which I'm not averse to) but to me that means the walls (also over 3 floors) need to be light but he doesn't want anything that reminds him of the magnolia. I've told him I'll happily go grey on the walls but that means paler carpet so we are at a stalemate .. sigh ... decorator coming to quote next week so I'm hoping that'll help focus us.

Drywhitefruitycidergin · 12/09/2022 08:43

@onedayiwillmissthis yes to yes slow- as soon as I have booked in decorator mine will be yellow. Can't wait!!!

Drywhitefruitycidergin · 12/09/2022 08:44

*yellow

Mxyzptlk · 12/09/2022 08:45

Pale blue ceiling, turquoise walls, fuschia pink doors, dark green carpet. Yes, really.

A light, sunny yellow with cinnamon carpet or vinyl attracts me, if I was changing it.

Chewbecca · 12/09/2022 08:50

Mine is yellow too - I didn't think it was very popular currently!
Mine is a mustardy shade of yellow.

SedentaryCat · 12/09/2022 09:00

We've got Dulux Rock Salt in the hall/stairs/landing. A welcome change to the dark mushroom/taupe that was here when we moved in.

Hardly any natural light in the hallway so this has made a huge difference. Shows every mark (looking at you DCs).

A 🌞 hello to all my fellow yellow aficionados. Dayroom Yellow, Babouche and Lancaster are presently cheering me in various areas of home. All with bright white gloss (Dulux Trade Gloss)

goblinkinggoblinking · 12/09/2022 09:24

Mine is yellow too! F&B Hay. I also have an India Yellow downstairs loo

BingoFucklinger · 12/09/2022 09:32

I came for the photos and am sorely disappointed! Wink

We begin renovations on our 1960s horror show next week and I need some inspiration!

LionessesRules · 12/09/2022 09:45

Ours will be changed as soon as we have funds and a bathroom sorted.
Purple striped carpet (this might stay), green paint on the left hand wall all the way up 2 flights, and purple grape patterned wapaper on the right. I'm thinking the walls have to go off white if we keep the carpet?
I hated it even from the rightmove photo! God job the rooms are what we wanted!

WoooahNelly · 12/09/2022 09:47

Gold...aka yellow 🤣

Giggorata · 12/09/2022 09:56

i came here for inspiration, as we are having the hall stairs and landing panelled, with hidden cupboards, and I fancy doing away with the stairs carpet too, with everything painted the same colour, or possibly a mixture of two toning colours.

I have a bright yellow kitchen, and much as I like it, I think doing the hall as well would be too much.

AesSedaiGreenAjar · 12/09/2022 09:58

Dulux mint macaroon, more of a pale blue than mint tbh

VeganGordie · 12/09/2022 10:35

mine is sage green, i love a pop of colour. Although you can never go wrong with white, i think if you have a small hallway then white would make it look bright and airy.

LibertyLily · 12/09/2022 11:52

Ours is Inchyra Blue with the landing wall papered in William Morris Strawberry Thief (in indigo).

Previously (in a different, larger house) we had a bright yellow hall too....I loved it and when we move I might consider yellow again 😉

Silverpossum · 12/09/2022 13:21

Thanks so much all! Working thought these colours online so see what we might like

Mines yellow, Farrow and Ball Hay

MintJulia · 12/09/2022 13:27

One wall is rich daffodil yellow, the others are cream. There is quite a lot of woodwork - old house.

Most visitors love it, my ex hates it which is part of its appeal 😀

Silverpossum · 13/09/2022 06:29

Given the popularity of Hay I've suggested to DH we have a yellow hallway. He is genuinely horrified 😂

Farrow and Ball Stone Blue. I love it.
