Decent floors, hardwood or bamboo with wool carpets in bedrooms.

SalsaLove · 04/07/2021 20:37

There’s luxury and then there’s luxury. Entry level luxury might be to shop at Selfridges, but for no budget luxury you would hire a professional.

Get your lighting done before anything else. It doesn’t matter how expensive your stuff is if it’s not in a home with proper lighting.

Eviethyme · 04/07/2021 20:43

Was definitely thinking wood flooring throughout with nice big rugs.

Professionals definitely will be doing the work but I'm just wanting to know where to shop for nice stuff, again no budget as long as the stuff is nice.

I think PP meant getting an interior designer when she said to get in the professionals.

I’m curious, are you genuinely so wealthy you have no budget? What an amazing position to be in!

Eviethyme · 04/07/2021 20:48

Ohh I did wonder haha, to be honest I enjoy doing it myself and love shopping so would prefer to decorate myself apart from the walls etc

And I will be soon haha at least partly :D

Liberty, Harrods and Peter Jones/John Lewis do lovely things but what styles do you like. The first thing I would buy would be a top end Hypnos bed

Eviethyme · 04/07/2021 20:53

Have had a look at self ridges, that's the kind of stuff I was thinking. I understand luxury comes in all prices haha I just mean in general.

Depending on your style and the property I wouldnt cover a fab wooden floor with rugs, tapestries on the wall and thick curtains are lovely in the rught home.

Supersimkin2 · 04/07/2021 20:55

Frette and or Yves Delorme.

Eviethyme · 04/07/2021 20:55

@dogsausages

Find it hard to imagine that someone with an unlimited budget isn’t already quite well acquainted with where to shop to spend it.

Have you robbed a bank and come into this money somehow OP?

PersonaNonGarter · 04/07/2021 20:57

Agree - get an interior designer to do a turnkey project on eg bathroom and bedroom.

Harrods stocks gorgeous towels

Eviethyme · 04/07/2021 21:00

@queenofpain Hahaha something like that, I've never shopped luxury before just amazon and a few independent local stores 😂

I think I may have to end up getting an interior designer as I'm so new to this :D but at least it will help knowing what I'm looking for

DogsSausages · 04/07/2021 21:01

DogsSausages · 04/07/2021 21:14

I found it on Rightmove, it looks quite modern so maybe you just need to think about what style you like and start there, beautiful views of the countryside, do you already live in Devon,.

Eviethyme · 04/07/2021 21:23

@dogsausages I do :) I have 2 homes but about to be just 1 in Devon as my family live in torbay, it is quite modern. I'll be changing all kitchens and bathrooms into more my style and getting some new flooring etc I think I'll definitely stick with a more natural minimalist Boho look

Feckauras · 05/07/2021 12:18

Op, the house interior is very boho, with a touch of mid century and it’s obvious the family come from an artistic background, it’s just very lived in. You’re probably best to wait and see how the place will look once emptied before you go ahead with thinking about how to accessorise, if money is no object, id definitely get an interior designer involved to help you with the style you want to achieve.

Feckauras · 05/07/2021 12:32

Also if money was no object I’d get a few classic designer chairs like Charles and Ray Eames lounge chair and ottoman etc from Vitra. I would also get a few good quality mid century vintage pieces of furniture, brands like G Plan and Macintosh.

AnoymousCoward · 05/07/2021 12:46

Do you mean Country like Dolly Parton or Country like SimsHilditch?
