Just that.. recently moved in, walls need plastering in the living room and then need to paint. I'm not arty in the slightest and don't get excited about thi sort of thing, need inspiration!

Dulux porcelain doll. It's looks white, but it's a really really pale grey, 2 friends have used the same colour after seeing it... have dulux Breton blue on the chimney breast.

Wow thanks everyone so many ideas! Grin the living room is south facing and generally quite bright (just taken pics with no light on) please excuse toys, planning on changing carpet to a hard floor

Green Stone from LG. Just had it done and I love it. It’s a soft sagey green colour. Very soothing.

Cahu58 · 02/07/2021 20:06

Crown Wheatgrass. Beige\cream

BarryTheChopper · 02/07/2021 20:07

F&B DeNimes, it looks blue, grey or green depending on the light.

It’s quite a strong colour but it’s a light room and I love it.

Sandsnake · 02/07/2021 20:08

F&B Green Blue. Like it a lot!

William Morris Golden Lily on three walls and built in dark green book shelves along the fourth.

Teal, it's a dark room so we steered into it and made it intimate and cost

MooPointCowsOpinion · 02/07/2021 20:18

Still the awful off-white from when we bought it (new build). I’m leaning towards Olive green or a warm but lighter version of a terracotta orange.
I hate a “feature wall”, but we have such a huge room with one long wall in particular and really struggling with how to make it seem less vast and plain!

Orangeinmybluelightcup · 02/07/2021 20:20

We've just stripped all the old paper and had all the artex plastered smooth. I'm attempting a boho look. We've got kelim style pattern on the armchairs in muted colours so have done the main wall with the fireplace dulux overtly olive and the rest of the walls dulux natural hessian. Putting up mixed things picked up on travels tomorrow. Have ordered a new rug in a muted blue with vaguely aztec zig zags and a wicker lampshade. Going house plant shopping tomorrow. Need to pick curtains. Hope it works!

This is the walls, decor unfinished!

Sioux rosemary leaf, I love it, genuinely makes me smile a lot Grin we have massive Windows north/South facing and it's changed colour depending on the time of day/weather.

TheCanyon · 02/07/2021 20:23

Sioux is infact dulux, cheers kindle Grin

Farrow and Ball babouche - or rather, Leyland knockoff of that colour. It's gorgeous. I love strong colours.

ShowOfHands · 02/07/2021 20:27

Thank you @Justgettingbye

It won't be to everybody's taste but I love colour and patterns and in a world of ubiquitous grey, our house is a bit of sunshine. I'm about to paint my kitchen in papaya playa - pictured - with dark blue cabinets and the original red quarry stone floor.

Crown Stepping Stone on ceiling (an old colour it's an eau de nil but I took it to Johnstone's to match it. They then mixed it 2 shades darker for the walls.). I love it, it's all encompassing and classic. Have velvet sofas, one navy, one gold and I love this room.

DS1 just picked Herbs de Provence (a mid green) for his bedroom/ sitting area and I'm in love with it.

Both rooms have lots of light so the strong colours work.

Orange. White around the window and above the picture rail (Victorian house with massive ceilings). Not a subtle orange either.

I still really like it, feels like a lovely warm colour and it's especially cosy in the winter. I feel it might be a bit dated now though but I don't know what to change it to.

MooPointCowsOpinion · 02/07/2021 20:36

Some lovely pictures here! Those large walls with a fireplace in the middle and shelves either side seem to be everywhere! Love the look, not sure it works when added to a newer house though?

bananamonkey · 02/07/2021 20:37

Two of the Rolling Fog shades from Little Greene, white above the picture rail. It was hideous yellowy magnolia until recently so now I love it.
