Naff things in other people's houses (Tongue in Cheek)

I know that it is a question of each to his own etc but what do you find naff in other people's homes? I was invited round to neighbour's today to gawp at their new gas barbecue that is the size of a Challenger tank. They were terribly proud of it and the husband was lovingly caressing it whilst the wife was squealing in anticipation of all the hot sausage her man was going to serve her! All I could think was 'Why? Why? Why?' What do you find naff in other people's homes and why?

I’m definitely guilty of some of these. I have an old, cream bathroom suite with some scalloped edges and I’d love a conservatory and a ball water feature.

I’m house-hunting at the moment and I do find Artex off-putting. I know it doesn’t all contain asbestos, but much of it does. Also, most of the properties I’ve viewed have painted woodchip on some ceilings. What terrible cracks is it hiding and how am I supposed to get it off?

Well my hallway has Dado and Picture Rails . They are original and lovely .

I used to worry about shit like this thread when decorating, now I just decorate to make me and my family happy, bollocks to other people's tastes. The only thing I hate is fake grass, we are cling filming the planet, it's just grim.

DH is a born and bred Geordie, now living in the SE. When we go up for a visit, I always point out the amount of 'Geordie blinds' (those vertical office blinds) in the windows. His parents have them and DH accidentally referred to the as Geordie blinds during our last visit. Awkward.

Now I want a plastic flamingo.

Colour co-ordinated books. You know, the ones you can buy in sets from Etsy. And Teslas. Tacky and the owners always think you'll be impressed

Loads of fridge magnets! I never understood those. One or two to clamp appointment letters or kid's drawings perhaps but not 30+ of them! What a bugger to clean having to remove them all then stick them back on!

Nah, they fall off and break, so naturally cycle.

I suspect my house is too full of dragons, Discworld and Steampunk stuff for most people's tastes but eh, fuck it, I like it

I rather like a bit of frowned upon bad taste in a house. Human and comforting.
The only think I hate is astroturf as it is an environmental disaster.
