Any suggestions on fans

Hi I have also put up another post, just about one particular room in the flat I live in.
But I also wanted to post a more specific one, to ask what if at all fans do you use indoors in the hot weather. Or cooling systems etc.
I have had a look around online, and there are a few which have good reviews etc. Some mentioning Dyson ones etc, but they are pricey.
There are some tower fans which would suit me space wise, but not sure if they will do very much, and some are apparently noizy as well.

Have any of you seen these small box type cooler appliances, I came across one, you know like at the back of a magazine you get these advertisements, apparently you fill the tray or something with water and supposed to be great. But I was worried about it spilling etc and having a young DC around causing havoc lol.

We can see this thread is a few years old so some of the suggestions may be out of stock, but we’ve recently updated our best tower fan and best pedestal fan pages if you’re looking for something keep you cool this summer. We hope they help.

Meaco much much better than Dyson, really quiet and works an absolute treat.

The dyson we have just seems to push warm air around whereas our Meaco cools beautifully.

We have this one. (Linked to QVC because you get 60 days to return it if it's not right)

Thankyou. Looks nice, yes it's good with QVC you do get that extra peace of mind. Is this not like a traditional oscillating fan though?

We have a dyson fan and a meaco and considering the meaco was a fifth of the price of the dyson, I really rate it.

I'd go for meaco. I have the small one but I would go medium if I need another one.

I have a Meaco one also. It’s great. Nice and quiet

We had a Dyson and during last year's heatwave I didn't feel as if it cooled the room much at all.
I read about Meaco fans on here, bought one, loved it, immediately bought a second one for my bedroom. I like the timer function, very easy to use, and usually set it to switch off an hour after bedtime.

Oh wow this Meaco fan does sound good. Do you find that it actually cools though as opposed to just blowing hot air around? Thanks.

Cools beautifully, we had ours on last night kept us cool without freezing us.

@TheSaucepanMan Thanks, sounds good! I wonder why they charge so much, as looks wise it is just an oscillating fan.
