I am after a new sofa and have seen one I like in sofology, but the reviews of the company are awful.
Where was your sofa from?

Good question.
We need new living room furniture. Watching with interest.

RoseCaterpillar · 18/01/2020 17:32

Sofology. Had it four years now, just about to pay off the last month on finance (interest free-£31 a month), I seem to think there was a slight delay with delivery but that's because we got it before Christmas but nothing major. It's still in really good nick and I've split loads of stuff on it 🙈 paid extra for the stain treatment luckily

Chuffingchuff · 18/01/2020 17:38

SCS a year ago and love it

Ginbauble · 18/01/2020 17:47

Loaf- beautiful sofa!

Miranda15110 · 18/01/2020 17:48

Furniture Village. A little bit more expensive but great quality and service.

mamaduckbone · 18/01/2020 17:51

Hitch Mylius when dh worked in the furniture industry. We have to keep it forever as there's no way we could afford one now.

buckeejit · 18/01/2020 17:58

Multiyork. Bought a new one & another second hand. Still look good 15 years on but I'm bigger & occasional bad back & sofa is a bit too low for me now

IM0GEN · 18/01/2020 17:59

Ikea

zebrapig · 18/01/2020 18:02

Sofology. It's awful and I hate it. The back cushions have misshapen badly and their solution is to plump every day. I wish I'd known that as we'd never have bought the damn thing.

viccat · 18/01/2020 18:02

It's from Sofa.com and I've been very happy with it for about 5 years now. Their service was great too, I still remember the delivery people were friendly and unpacked it and attached the feet etc.

mywrencalls · 18/01/2020 18:05

I just bought a £1200 two seater sofa from M&S for £65 in the British Heart Foundation. Professionally cleaned and delivered for £15.
It's the comfiest sofa I've ever had, and the cheapest!
Last one I paid £2000 from Sofology and had no end of problems right from the start.

Elieza · 18/01/2020 18:06

@zebrapig have you tried adding your own additional filling to the cushions to try and keep them plumped? I did that with an old sofa and it worked. Kept the shape better when jammed full of old rolled up duvet chunks I cut off and old single duvet I didn’t have to see anything as it had removable covers do just unzipped and bunged in some Dodd of duvet. Just a thought.

FlamingoAndJohn · 18/01/2020 18:08

Mine is from Made.
I had friends buy an almost identical one from a local store as they didn’t want to buy without trying. They have all ready replaced theirs. Mine is 7 years old and still going strong.

fruitpastille · 18/01/2020 18:09

Local place that sells ex display etc at a huge discount.

Rhodes2015again · 18/01/2020 18:20

DFS, we only got it in April. But have had previous from sofology but when it was called CSL. And the a next one.
The Next one was the horrible. Back cushions just kept falling behind the seat cushions. It looked like an absolute sack of shit 4 years in!
I love this DFS one so far. We added memory foam (no need for constant plumping!) and easy gliders and had the insurance pack thing and I still thought it was reasonable.

Fizzypoo · 18/01/2020 18:22

Next. I have had it for 3 years and every person who comes into my house compliments me on it.

mamalovebird · 18/01/2020 18:29

DFS. Bought by first one age 25 and have had 3 suites from then since (am 42). Well made. Never had a problem with them.

Billyeyelash · 18/01/2020 18:29

Mine was handmade. Had it 16 years. Cost £1200.
Think I will just recover it forever (done this once) and have cushions restuffed. Cannot find one as comfy.

BadEyeBri · 18/01/2020 18:35

Alexander & James. Sturdy, well made and put up with a lot of abuse

sandycloud · 18/01/2020 18:37

We have a 4 seater sofa from sofa workshop. It cost £2000 19 years ago. It's been great. Had it recovered last year for £700 and this included filling out the cushions. I have a friend who buys cheap as possible but she has probably changed her sofa about 3 times in this time. Everyone says how comfortable it is. It's very easy to fall asleep on it!!!

OnebusyMum · 18/01/2020 18:47

Thanks everyone. We only have a Harveys and Sofology in my town. The after service reviews are awful, also people saying that they are arriving ripped etc

DFS. It's 7 years old and the only issue we have had was one of the little buttons across the back fell off and we had to stick it back on.

We have two dc and it's in need of a good shampoo but otherwise absoloutley fine. When we ordered it we swapped the down filled seat pads for foam which has helped it keep it's shape.

MusicToMyEars800 · 18/01/2020 18:49

Amazon, and they’re fab!!

tigerbear · 18/01/2020 18:51

Ooh, great timing - I just had a new sofa delivered this afternoon from Made!
Our old ones were incredibly uncomfortable and were giving me aches and pains, so the new one is incredible.
It’s a stunning 6 seater blue velvet one, lovely to sit on so far.

QuitMoaning · 18/01/2020 18:52

Fishpools.
They are not a nationwide chain, they are based in Waltham Cross.
Love the sofas, nearly two years old now and the service we received whilst buying and especially during delivery was utterly incredible.
Massive choice and easily personalised to your taste.
