where did you go on your honeymoon?

cant decide where to book (see other thread st lucia/maldives) but now im thinking about other places and i suppose real life recommendations are better than magazine ones....

We were bought a honeymoon by all of dh's friends - they paid for us to go to Kefalonia in Greece for a week!! It was amazing, totally relaxed area and beautiful scenery - made even better because it was a surprise (we weren't told until the night of our wedding that we were going away the next day!!)

14 nights in Kuramathi, Maldives, then a night at the Blackpool Hilton Hotel (well, I'd never been to Blackpool before!) Was absolutely fab, October wedding though and it was lurvely and hot (although i didn't get as much of a tan as I'd hoped as I spent most of the time with my head under the water and my bottom in the air watching the fish underwater! Fantastic! Wish we could go back ...

We went to Sri Lanka - very low key hotel, far away from anything else - fantastic. First night, we watched baby turtles hatching and all of them made it to the sea - we felt like David Attenborough! Spent a couple of days at an amazing national park called the Bundala National park - one of the most amazing, wild and peaceful places I've ever been (apart from wild elephant charging the land rover - v. exciting!!) Sri Lankans and Sri Lanka are divinely lovely, though I was horrid to my lovely husband as very early preg!! We were terribly sad to hear of the devastation in Sri Lanka over Christmas - we would def go back and would go now but can't afford it and I can't think of a better way to spend my holiday money than trying to help them rebuild. Have a fab time wherever you go - tis about being together, anywhere - cherish it!!

Train to Provence then cycling between hotels. Bikes and packed lunch provided, luggage moved for us. Great as we didn't want long haul or lying on a beach.

Wilbur, my hubby decided on bora bora and i must admit i had no idea where it was so the flight was a shock to me as well. But it was as you say an amazing place, im trying to persuade hubby to take me back for our next aniversary I don't rate my chances though

Went to Jalousie Hilton, st Lucia twice as it was so lovely.

Went to Hilton Maldives and Banyan Tree Seychelles for a 3 week honeymoon.

My fave was Maldives Hilton (Rangali Island) in a watervilla. Totally stunning!!!! Excellent snorkling and scuba. Best out of all 3 places
